We're having April showers this morning, which we need.  The pollen is unbelievable!
I have had a horrible cough all week, and I don't think I coughed at all last night.  Sure hope it's going away.  I don't need and an excuse to be lazy.....
Harriet, hoping your shoulder is improving.
Jeri, you do have a son to be proud of.  That is wonderful that he came down from TN to help his dad and show y'all how much he loves you.  Brag on.....
Jean/AZ, sorry about your computer problems.  Did you get your reservations, etc. done?  Saw on the news this a.m. where AZ passed a new law on illegal immigrants.  Didn't realize Phoenix was the leading city in kidnapping.  Or is that just media exaggeration?
I went to see "Jersey Boys" last weekend in Charlotte.  Loved the music, but didn't like the "Jersey" language.  Also, learned how connected the mafia was to those guys.  They were in and out of jail as teenagers.  Of course they were just teenagers when they made it.  Franki Valli is still singing.  Found out after I got home that my husband's band as a teenager was known for being like the "Four Seasons".
Jean/B, cycling on cobblestones would be difficult, huh?
BHR, your niece continues to be in my prayers.
Some of you may remember Maureen from England,  she doesn't post much anymore, but she called this past week and her beloved cat Timothy passed away.  He was 17 yrs. old, I believe.  It was good to hear from her.
Okay folks, I gonna get busy around here (after I do my daily crossword puzzle, lol)
Have a wonderful weekend.

Helllo, Friends. There is a wicked looking storm bearing down on us so just a quick note before we shut down the computers. I am doing OK- still don't have full range of motion & Hubby has to help me dry my hair- I've gotten to where I can do the shower by myself so that's progress.

JeanB- Hasn't been my year yet but I can think of some positives like how much I enjoed the Olympics. Glad to know your wife is OK.

Jean-AZ- Hope you got your resevations made. Dealing with computers & phones can be a hassle- seems like when you call a number a person doesn't answer anymore.

BHR- Still prayers going up for your niece, Hope you are OK.

Sharon- Sorry you're having such a problem with pollen- our worst problems in this area are traffic & pollen.

Hello to all the rest of you- the storm is getting closer so better go now. Love to Alll.

improvement in your shoulder.
BHR my prayers are with your niece's family
as well as yours.
Dizzy we are also in much need of rain. The
people who have pools are not very happy as
they can not fill them this year. Also the orchard
farmers can only water once a week. Not good for
the fruit trees.

Beautiful day today - of course I'm back at work.  The weekend was cool & rainy - sorry to read about all the tornadoes.  Prayers for the families of those who died.

BHR, so sorry to hear about your niece.  Prayers for her family.

Harriet, sounds like you are doing a little better.  Take care.

WOOHOO, the Cubbies swept the Brewers this weekend - in Milwaukee (which us Cubbie fans like to call Wrigley North, LOL).  The bats finally woke up - hope they can keep it going.

Hi All,
BHR, sorry to hear of the passing of your niece.  I know it has been difficult for the family.  My prayers with all of you.

I had a quiet birthday.  We went to my grandson's baseball game and then Jerry & I went out to dinner, he did tell the waitress it was my birthday, but I asked them not to come out clapping and singing.  So we got some carrot cake to celebrate.

I was gonna work for the U.S. Census, but decided I really didn't want to be tied down.  Of course the extra money would be good, but then thought of having to visit homes of people by myself that did not send in their census forms.  I really didn't want to work.....Jerry was relieved I think.  He didn't really want me to do it.  One of the friends of my daughter who is 20 years younger than I has been trying to get hired by them and is not having any luck.  I'm sure she did well on the tests.

Harriet, hope you didn't have any damage from the storms this past Saturday.  I didn't hear anything, but my neighbors at church said the wind was really blowing etc.  Jerry & I slept right through it!

Bowled in the playoffs Sunday and our team came in first for the league.  We will celebrate Thursday.  I'm not planning on bowling this summer.

Elaine, too bad about the water shortage up there.  Didn't realize y'all were having a shortage.  Sounds like fruit prices will be up, huh?

Y'all have a good Tuesday.  I'm going with the senior group at church to a talent show and luncheon.  It's a yearly event and always fun.  See why I didn't want to work?  LOL!

winter.I never had to shovel a place for Georgie
this year. Now we are suffering for it.
Sharon glad you had a wondeful birthday.Congrats
on coming in first with your bowling.
Looks like we might get some much needed rain
today.

Hello AJ fans,

I don't have much time, started training for the next phase of the census today and I offered to laminate the signs for the crew so I have to get busy doing that.  I did have to cancel the trip to the 4 concerts this weekend due to work, but at least it will give me some funds for concerts later in the year.  I will miss seeing everyone that's going and of course seeing Alan and the Strayhorns.  Have an extra GOOD TIME all that are going.

BHR, sorry to hear of your niece's passing, put a note on that thread for you.

Elaine, we got all your rain this year.  We've been going back and forth between Spring/Summer weather back to winter weather.  Air conditioning one day and having to have a fire the next....WEIRD.

Sharon, the census loses a lot of workers once they start training, and especially when they start working.  We have the biggest single area in the country according to our supervisor who stopped by the training today.  I think it's about 400 square miles.  So far, fewer people have returned their forms than in 2000 and there's more people to count now.

Hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi Friends. I'm showing some improvement but still a ways to go. Still 2 weeks til I see the shoulder specialist again. Our weather is a little cooler- 60's & 70's for highs but I like it thst way.

Kathy- Glad to hear your Cubs are doing well. The Braves have lost 6 straight & are in the celler. They have to get the bats going again.

Sharon- the weather here was rainy with thunder but not as bad as in some places. There was a tornado 1 & 1/2 miles wide that went all the way across Mississippi & into Alabma. I think we are so lucky & must have a Guardian Angel watching over us.

Jeri- hope your folks in Ms are all right. They got the worst of the storm.

BHR-still thinking of you.

Hi Dizzy.

Elaine, are you in a drought in your area?

Terry so sorry you had to cancel concerts but I know how importsant the census is.

Hello, again, my friends. I just want to thank you all for your thoughts, cares and prayers as my family and I continue to grieve the loss of our beloved niece, cousin, aunt, granddaughter and sister, Geline. Everyone of us were affected very hard by her passing and still are in disbelief that she's gone. So young (47), so sweet and in our hearts a real angel. She will always have a place in our hearts and memories. I would lke to share with you all a tribute my brother wrote on his blog site. Reading it poured out a lot of happy memories for me that put smile on my face thinking about them. The picture you'll see there was taken when Geline was 3 years old, a few months after she fully recovered from her brain surgery (insertion of a shunt). Also, to share with you is a picture taken in 2007 of Geline with my brother.

You all have proven to be wonderful people and friends anyone in the world could ask for and I'm honored to call you my friends.

Harriet, I am glad to hear that you are improving.  Terry, sorry to hear that you had to cancel some concerts, but understand the reason!  I love to read your concert reviews!

JeanB, my son and daughter-in-law are new at bicycle riding.  The hills proved to be more of a challenge to them than they expeceted.  They are really inspired about the ride and are already planning for next year!  They are planning to be in better shape for the ride then and we have already made plans to keep the grandkids.  I think we will plan to take the grandkids to the finish line to see them come across!!

Elaine, sorry to hear about your drought.  Hope you get some rain soon!

BHR still thinking of you and your family

Morning AJ Fans!

BHR, that piece was so touching..I wrote in the other post but this piece was so nice.Prayers to all.

Harriet, so glad you see  a Specialist soon & feel better.
You asked if everyone of my family was ok in MS. fortunately, they live near memphis area of MS. My cousin in Jackson was fine , they have lots of land and lose trees but that's about it. Their old Tara mansion always makes it though.
Aberdeen was ok, where my cousin lives, he was lucky he was in CA ha!. I lived around tornado's all my life, but back then they traveled in paths, now they show up all over. When we visit the MS house, we also go to a cousin's who has a basement fixed for storms & drink wine. ha! my cousins barn and cattle blew away a few years back and he still lives there.
Like Nashville, they used to be that way , now they are in Hendsonville and aound my sons on either side. I called him after getting back home and they were preparing what to do..They only had high winds and rain.. Thank God! I hope Alan & Family were ok & Cindy and his Office Staff. Some of the people in Yazoo really lost a lot of lives and homes.I feel so bad for them. We go through one area in Alabama that is hit everytime it seems, and especially one Church and the next time we go back, it's being built back..This is when we go back to MS..No basements here in FL much and we have tornado's too , all around us..we only got a bit of rain..

Not looking forward to Mother's Day.. this Year.. but if you still have a Mother , be sure and tell her you love her. A card can mean so much. My Mother always knew I loved her dearly..I have no regrets, with either parent.Such great Parents!

Hoping to hear Alan will be by Jax somewhere or Nashville area, on his later Tour.. Have to order a Star and a shirt.. soon.
You Guys let us hear some reviews soon, I'm missing Alan.. photos would be nice too. Congrats to those w/M&G's
Dizzy, going to fan Fair? what tickets on the 10th did you need? not a Concert listed, must be fanfair or locally.
I found  Alan was visiting a sm town near where my Mom was, when we were there, and I didn't even know it..ha!

Terry good luck with your work etc..Always love your reviews when I can't go..Marilyn, looking forward to Yours!!
Sue what Concert will you be going to? Let us hear about it , every detail, I miss Alan & his Band so much..

Take care all of you, Jerrie
