i have that no drumsticks performance on a vcr tape. I used to record all the award shows on vcr. the best one is when alan did Chattahoochee on a awards show when it was new on the charts. the place went nuts. it was a great performance, the whole crowd loved it.

it would be nice if we could have some kinda 20+ year fan club member get together with alan. im sure he appreciates our long time support. kinda like the fan club party I attended years ago at the wildhorse saloon in Nashville.  Smiley

sorry to disappoint you, but that's a printed autograph on the card. I don't think he has the time to sign all of our cards. Sad

I used to record the award shows on vcr when the were country. a lot of my recordings have performances from alan n the stayhorns. now I don't watch or dvr the shows anymore. no country music to be had that I hear.

hi, for all the newer alan jackson fans that might not have been listening back then, in 1991 george invited a handful of artists to cut an album of some of his favorite songs. he picked alan for the ballad " a good year for the roses ". its a beautiful song and alan really put his special touch on it. i love digging out the cassette tape haha, and playing it now and then. a song every alan jackson fan should hear. im not sure of the availibility of it in 2013, but if you get a chance to listen im sure you wont be disappointed...rickm.

i understand your frustration about not getting a chance to meet alan. ive been a dedicated fan for over 18 years. i was fortunate to meet him early in his career in a total different type of setting then the way meet n greets are now. hes a superstar, the king of country, imagine how fastpaced his life must be now? i would like to meet him again, and ill admit i get frustrated too when i see fans in the real world news winning meet n greets that have not been a dedicated fan like myself for so many years. it doesnt work that way. i have an enlarged reproduction of his autograph on the tailgate of my chevy pick-up..!!! i wish you the best of luck meeting alan. rickm.

hi, this morning was a beautiful bright sunny day, just like it was 11 years ago today. remembering that day still hits hard being a resident of new york state. the local news station has been showing the portraits of all the local lives lost in my area. its tough to watch. it still gives me mixed feelings of anger and sorrow...rickm.

hi, i really like the words to this song on the freight train cd. most of us are blue collar folk, and thats what country music is all about. and the last two words of the song "and woman". cant forget about our workin girls....rickm.

thanks BHR, i understand now how it works. i am disapointed in myself, however i am also disapointed in the confusing way they word when you can purchase tickets. im sure im not the only one who made the same mistake as me. at least next time, i wont forget this mishap. entering my credit card # was not a problem. thanks again. rickm.
14  General Category / Off Topic / confused about preferred seating..... on: August 28, 2012, 04:10:15 pm
hi, its been a while but in the past ive gotten awsome fan club seats to a few of alans shows. last week i noticed alan was going to be in binghamton n.y. oct. 18 th. its a thursday night and the venue is a 3 hour drive from home. ive driven alot farther then that to see alan, but i had awsome seats. i discussed it with my girlfreind and decided i was going to stay up till 1a.m (eastern time) to try to get 2 good seats to the show. it clearly stated tickets go on sale aug. 24 th. at midnight (central time). earlier that night i wanted to familiarize myself with the pages on the website to purchase preferred seating tickets. the alan jackson store displayed 2 seats for me to purchase in my cart with a sale price and led me to every step of getting tickets and was asking me for my credit card number. this confused the hell out of me. it was nowhere near midnight (central time). i got so disgusted i logged out and canceled my thoughts of getting 2 good seats to the show.  why did that happen?
15  General Category / Off Topic / import clothing ( alan jackson store)... on: July 14, 2012, 06:22:53 am
hi, ive got quite a collection of alan tee shirts and caps through the years. im kinda disapointed that im finding the current tee shirts and hats have origin tags on them from china, cambodia, and even vietnam. my older clothing all have familiar american names like "hanes beefy tees" and "fruit of the loom". i understand that cost is a big factor nowdays, but the quality in american products is better. i would gladly pay more for an american made alan tee. i think alan would agree. rickm....
