Good morning, Friends. It's December & Christmas is approaching. Thanks, Elaine, for starting the Decmber thread. I love the cards I've gotten so far from some of you. Just got mine into the mail yesterday.
I have a doctor's appointment this AM so will be back later to post more.

Happy December Y'all!
Love the calendar for December.  AJ is almost too handsome for a man!  Yum, Yum.
I have gotten one Christmas card, but haven't mailed mine yet.  May address them this afternoon.
Have fun at Teresa's Elaine.
So good to see you posting Harriet!
It has turned cold today and supposed to get down to 28 deg. tonight.  I have to disconnect the hose and cover up the spigot.  Jerry isn't concerned with it.  We don't have really cold temps that last a while, but with our luck, we could have frozen pipes!  Don't want that!
Gonna try and get the Christmas tree up this weekend.  We don't decorate outside anymore, just the tree and little Christmas stuff on the tables.  I'm gonna put the tree in the sunroom this year, I think.  It looks so pretty from outside.  I just don't get a chance to see the lights as often.  May get a little tree that I can see from the den.  I'll just have to see about all that.  Did get the advent calendar put up and some Christmas candles out.  I can put up my nativity scene on the entertainment center this afternoon.  Better get busy with all that, plus I have to go to town too.  Soooooo, y'all have a great day.

December means snow here.  It was just flurries most of the morning, but enough to cover the ground.  It sure is cold - not out of the 20's today.
All my Christmas decorations are up and my tree is decorated.  I love pulling out all of the AJ ornaments and oohing and aahing all over again.

HI DEAR FRIENDS, AND THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR KIND CONCERN FOR MY SON-IN-LAW DALE, HAPPY TO REPORT HE IS DOING VERY WELL, WALKING WITH JUST ONE CANE NOW, AND ANXIOUS TO GET RID OF THAT, HE HAS A GREAT ATTITUDE AND DETERMINATION.  ITS BEEN A ROUGH YEAR FOR THEM, BUT I JUST KNOW THE NEW YEAR IS GOING TO BRING THEM THE BLESSINGS THEY DESERVE.
MY THANKSGIVING BIRTHDAY WAS A DELIGHT.  SON DOUG CAME OVER FROM L.A., AND WHEN HE GOT ON MY COMPUTER TO CHECK IT OUT, DECLARED IT A "DINASAUR", I TOLD HIM SO WAS I, BUT HE INSISTED IT WAS TOO SLOW TO LIVE.  I DID NOT COMMENT.  SO OUT HE GOES AND BRINGS IN A NEW FASTER, FANCIER COMPUTER, WHICH HE AND GRANDSON SPENCE HOOKED UP.  IT HAS" WINDOWS 7" ON IT WHICH THEY TELL ME WILL BE THE ANSWER TO ALL MY PRAYERS.  I MUST ADMIT IT IS SO FAST IT NEARLY BLOWS ME OFF MY CHAIR.  THEN, THE GIRLS GOT ME A "NOOK" E-BOOK THINGY THAT DOWNLOADS ENTIRE BOOKS IN SECONDS.  AND I AM STILL TRYING TO UNDERSTAND HOW A TELEPHONE WORKS.  MY BRAIN, AT 79, IS SO FULL OF USELESS, BUT KIND OF FUN INFORMATION I HAVEN'T ROOM FOR ALL THESE NEW GIDGETS AND GADGETS.  BUT AREN'T THEY A WONDER.  MY SCREEN IS BIGGER AND THE PRINT NICE AND CLEAR, SO THAT IS GOOD, BUT I FRANKLY DON'T KNOW WHAT ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES ARE ABOUT.  WENT OUT TO GET A "WINDOWS 7 FOR DUMMIES" BOOK.  GOTTA START SOMEWHERE.  WELL, LONG AS I CAN REACH ALL OF YOU, AND HARRASS MY KIDS WITH E-MAILS, I WILL BE HAPPY.
WHAT NEXT???
LOVE YOU ALL, AND MAY DECEMBER BRING ALL OF YOU PEACE, JOY, FUN AND LAUGHTER...

Hello AJ Friends. I'm doing fairly well just taking it one day at a time. Haven't done any decorating or shopping yet- gonna have to get busy.

JeanB- I bet your wife would appreciate your help with decorating. Hubby usually helps me with it some.

Jean-AZ- Glad to hear Dale is so much better. Enjoy all your new gadgets- sounds great to me. And did you notice you're no longer a newbie?

Kathy- Bet the snow is beautiful. It's going to be really cold here starting Monday.

Elaine- Enjoy your time with Jess & have safe traveling.

Gwen- the cards are really nice- I agree.

We are supposed to get a snowstorm tomorrow.  It looks like it's all over the Midwest.  3-6 inches is what is predicted.  We'll see what happens.  Hoping it's only the 3.

Downloaded the December calendar - WOWSER!   I've always loved that picture!!

JeanAZ - enjoy your new toys.  What a nice family you have - taking care of you like that!  You go girl!
JeanB - I'm sure your wife would appreciate the help.
Harriet - so glad to hear you are improving, even if it's a slow process.

I'm going to start wrapping presents this weekend - not one of my favorite chores.

Morning Y'all!
Jean/az:  So good to hear your sil is doing good. And you have wonderful children.  Jerry (hubby) doesn't know anything about the computer and when I have problems, I have to call the computer shop.  My son knows a little, but is much too busy for Mama's computer...Or at least that's how I feel.

Your new toys sound wonderful.  If I didn't use my computer for work, I wouldn't worry near as much about it.

The Meals on Wheels program is having a open house at an historic mansion up the road, and when I was called at first to help, I thought I had something scheduled today.  Then when I realized I was free I called back and volunteered.  Then I was told that if I could bring a batch of homemade Christmas cookies, that would help.  Soooo, like a dummy I said I would.  Made the cookies last night and I go to work at 1:15 today.  It runs from 2:00 til' 7:00, but this ole girl will be leaving after 4:30, because South Carolina is playing Auburn for the SEC championship and I want to watch!

Jean/B:  Oh you are a sweetheart of a husband.  Sorry you won't be able to cycle with the ice/snow.  But, you get big points for helping your wife with the Christmas decorations.

Thank y'all for the Christmas cards I've received.  I haven't sent mine yet!

It's cold, 38 deg. this morning, may have some snow in higher elevations.  If it snows here, everything stops, we don't get snow often and usually our worse is that we get ice!  Don't want snow yet!  I have too much to do!

Y'all have a wonderful Saturday.

Well it snowed half the night and all morning (and still now a little).  We have about 3 inches so far, but it's supposed to snow off & on all day.  Plows have been by once, but I'm not inclined to go out today.   Been cleaning and now I'm going to make a big pot of chili.

Stay safe & warm, everyone!

Hello all.  It has been awhile since I posted.  I just don't have the time lately.  I cannot believe it is December.

Luvthataj - I am glad that your son-in-law is doing better.

JeanB - Thanks for the birthday wishes for my husband.  I will let him know. Yes he is turning 48 years old.  He is just a puppy, I tell him.  I think your wife will appreciate it if you helped her with the decorations. My husband always helps me with putting the decorations on the outside of the house and with the garland on the stairways (which are full of lights). He is a perfectionist so all the cords are tucked nicely along the stairway.  He does a very good job. I heard of all the snow Europe is getting.  I haven't spoken with my relatives in the last couple of weeks, so they must of gotten some of this weather too.

The weather here in Southern Ontario, Canada has not been too bad. We hardly have a dusting of snow yet.  I know some places in Ontario have alot of snow already and are getting more today.

I have been very busy the last couple of months.  The time just flies by. Baby Shower for my daughter-in-law, Christmas parties with friends, work and a family reunion last night. I started a new job, so I am exhausted when I get home from all the training.   I went to a Johnny Reid concert.  If you ever have a chance to see him in concert, you have to.  He is fantastic.  Although Alan is still my favorite, I do go to other concerts.

Today we are going to Kitchener, Ontario.  This is about two hours from our home.  It is there German Christmas Festival. I have never been but a friend of mine told me it is nice to go to.  There will be music, vendors selling decorations and other things.  When I was in Germany in the summer, I went to one of their Christmas stores.  I just loved their decorations.  There was items I wanted to buy to bring home, but I was afraid they might break.  So I am hoping I will find some of that there tomorrow.  There will be vendors from Germany there.  I hope the weather will be okay there because I know they are expecting snow in that part of Ontario.

HariAJfan - I am glad to see you are posting again and that you are doing better

Gayle - Happy Birthday to your husband.

I downloaded the December Calendar. That is a nice picture of him.  I love his new CD. I bought the CD of the tribute to Loretta Lynn, where Alan sings one of her songs.  He does a nice job on it.

I am so far behind on the posts, that I hope everyone is doing fine.  I am going to try to get here more often, but it is a very busy time of year. I have some decorations still to do, baking and shopping.   On Dec 17 my daughter in law is scheduled for her C-section.  This will be our first grandchild.  We do not know the sex of the baby yet.  I am very excited about this.

Well I better try to see if I can sleep.  Lately I have only been sleeping 4 to 5 hours.  I think I have too much on my mind and too much to do.

Talk to you all soon.

Hello all you AJ fans.

Winter is here for us in PA.   We like to snow ski, so we're looking forward to that.
Hubby has a birthday on Tuesday, so we're going to try and find him new skis Monday evening.

Please everyone,
Be safe while preparing for Christmas and don't get too stressed.
I don't have anything done yet.
