HI FRIENDS...AND A SPECIAL GREETING TO YOU, HARRIET!!  HAVEN'T EXACTLY BEEN A REGULAR HERE FOR AWHILE, BUT FINALLY GETTING MY BODY CLOCK BACK TO GOOD OLD USA TIME, THE TRIP TO TUSCANY IS LIKE A DREAM TO ME NOW!  I REMEMBER WHEN IT FIRST CAME UP, I THOUGHT..NO WAY CAN I DO TWO WEEKS TRAVELING...BUT IT FLASHED BY..AND LEFT WONDERFUL MEMORIES TO ENJOY.
GUESS WHAT??  MY BIRTHDAY (79..AND COUNTING) WILL FALL ON THANKSGIVING DAY THIS YEAR, EVERY 4-5 YEARS IT DOES THAT.  MY DAUGHTER WENDY'S WAS A CHRISTMAS EVE BABY, AND LYNNE'S IS ON NEW YEARS DAY.  WE SEEM TO HANG AROUND THE HOLIDAYS!  OUR WEATHER HAS FINALLY TURNED FALL-LIKE, AND I LOVE IT.  GOING TO GET MY WINDOWS WASHED NEXT WEEK, ISN'T THAT A TREAT?  SEEMS THE WHOLE WORLD BRIGHTENS UP.  SUCH NICE YOUNG FELLOWS COME EACH TIME, THEY ARE FAST AND DO A LOVELY JOB.  I ALWAYS TELL THEM THEIR MOMS SHOULD BE PROUD!  MY COMPUTER WAS ACTING STRANGELY FOR AWHILE...EVERY SO OFTEN IT JUST GETS ORNERY.  BUT MY GRANDSON SPENCE CALLED FROM COLLEGE, AND IN A FEW BRIEF MINUTES TOLD ME HOW TO FIX IT.  AREN'T THESE KIDS JUST GENIUS'S ANYMORE??  WHAT WOULD I DO WITHOUT THEM!
I DO HOPE EACH AND ALL OF YOU WILL HAVE JUST A WONDERFUL, WARM, AND HAPPY THANKSGIVING, WITH MUCH, MUCH TO GIVE THANKS FOR.  I AM SET TO ENLJOY ALAN'S APPEARANCE ON THE CMA'S THIS EVENING, THE ONLY REAL REASON FOR ME TO WATCH...

STAY WELL AND WARM!

Harriet so glad to see you post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have thought of you so much..traveling etc..I hope this recovery wont last that long and you will feel like yourself again.  So happy you are can post once in a while. I'm sure this has seemed like a nightmare to you to see Alan and to fall on  slippery ground and end up with all the problems. It seems like Forever
i'm sure.I am extra careful because of your fall now..I fell a while back here also & cut my scalf open , so I take it slow and watch and hold on to Hubby more.
However my husband has been ill too, when he was in the hospital for 4 days & nights, it was the first time I stayed alone since my children left.. It seemed awful to come home form the hospital & be alone..It made to stop and think how grateful I am to have him, and now for 46 years.. Great, since I'm only 39 LOL we married very young Ha! we celerated our Anniversary in our Church Homecoming in the MS country Church where we were wed . The pastor was there also. So great to see People I haven't seen in years. we had been to Church there some. but missed some of them. My best friend I had not seen her in years.. she was a beautiful girl in HS. and her sister was there & brother, we all talked about ole times.
we didn't drive 13 hrs there this time , stopped half way, w/hubby not well, but he is much better now and still seeing his Drs.
I have two ear infections now and bronical congestion w/asthma, so i had to go to Dr when we returned. God is good, it waited until we got home. Had a wonderful time..I have never seen so much home cooked food. cakes , pies, meats all the extra salads. fresh fruits etc...we got food from a town near Tupelo to take , it was good to not be home cooked.
Got to run hubby is having to cook today LOL, he is not the usual cook, I am ha
He just took all my clothes & his to the cleaners , he doesn't like to wash much lol I have spoiled him but he has me too ha.
Harriet keep up w/that recovery now, I hope to meet you someday at a AJ concert...
LOve Ya,Jerrie-MS
all of you it's nice to think about meeting some of you and the meeting Alan still brings smiles.
Take care to all of you and enjoy this weather..th leaves looked so pretty traveling to MS..God's free gifts, the forest

Terry happy to see you posting.Glad you are working
and can go enjoy Alan's concerts.Would love having your
warm weather.
Jeri congrats to your hubby on his retirement. It takes
a while to adjust to having them home all the time.
Harriet so happy your are well on your way to a full
recovery.Hope the Dr's have good reports for you.
Jean glad your knee is improving.Your right Kelsey
gets upset when they lose and she even gets up
set if they win and the girls haven't played well.
She takes it so seriously. In our paper this morning
I see she was picked for the all star.
Jean(AZ) It is always so nice to have the windows
washed. The compex does the outside windows and
I clean the inside ones.
Another cool day.Only in the twenties.
Will watch the awards at 5.It is nice getting those
stations from the east.

Thanks Jean/b... AJ Friends now remember  the Black carpet is on CMT @ 7 PM est, then the main Awards show at the Bridgestone is at 8 PM est, so switch to ABC then.

The Bridgestone Arena is Huge and we just went there a while back & saw Alan,Keith Urban( who played back up for all the Singers with a whole terrific band)also Vince Gill did..John Mayer was great, Dolly Pardon,Miranda Lambert, Charlie Pride w/"KIss An Angel Good Morning" Love it!,Alison Krauss, and last but not least, Martina McBride. What a night we had at that Very Arena!  You will see how big it is..
I hear where Garth Brooks is going to hold another Concert there for the flood victims  a bit later... this has really helped w/The CM Hall of Fame Museum etc..

Got to run , do not want to miss a moment on this. Hubby just said he heard Alan is in for several nominations, I was like woo hoo! I had not heard this. he often teases ,to I will have to wait and see.ha!

So glad you feel like posting Harriet.  Do you feel like reading?  Watching movies?  What are you doing with your recuperation?  If you like to read, let me know.

Good to see Terry's post also.  Remodeling, huh?  I need my carpet cleaned sooooo bad.  I use to do it myself, but not anymore.

I may have mentioned my husband has been out of commission for a couple of weeks with a kidney stone.  He went to the dr. Tuesday, got the stint out and he says he feels great now!  I'm so glad.  Sure don't like him not feeling well.

My gd Nicole, fell last Tuesday and sprained her ankle in her last volleyball game.  She's on crutches, but it wasn't as bad as first thought.  Glad it was her last game for the season.  She had a great game the Saturday before against Belmont-Abbey.

Planning Thanksgiving with my daughter and her family.  I think I will have an early Thanksgiving on Sunday the 21st with my son and his family.  Goodness, the time is flying by.

We're enjoying beautiful southern fall, cool nights (40's) and warm days (70's).  The trees are beautiful.  We will probably have our peak in the next 2 weeks.

Taped the CMA's Wednesday night and watched it yesterday.  Glad Brad Paisley got Entertainer.  When I looked out in the audience, I thought of all the entertainers that opened for Alan.  The first show I saw him, Rascal Flatts were the opening act.  They were just getting started.

Y'all have a great weekend and good health to all of you.

We are having some more beautiful weather (a little rain overnight), but a cold front is coming through this weekend and the temps will drop again.  It sure has been a nice fall.

Sharon, glad to hear your husband is feeling better.
Elaine, I agree with you about the awards show - what was he doing there?  Really enjoyed Alan's performance with ZBB.  I wish they would show all the award presentations like they used too.   Not sure I agree with the hosts getting to sing two songs each AND do a collaboration too.  JMO

Loving 'Ring of Fire' and 'Mississippi Man/Louisiana Woman'.   Alan does justice to any song he chooses to sing.  Always respectful of the original, but puts his own AJ touch to them.   Always exciting to get new music from 'Da Man'.

Well, here I am at 2:15 a.m.  Did get my S.S. lesson done.  Lord willing, Jerry & I are going shopping tomorrow.  So glad he feels better.  With the 2 weeks recuperation and the 2 weeks prior with him not really feeling good (kidney stone and infection, before it was treated), it's been a while.

I'm another who doesn't care for Kid Rock.  I know at Fan Fest, I had to leave because of his music.  It's not country!  I heard on the radio that George Strait was having problems with his inner ear because of the noise, his ear thingy too.

Nicole is now off the crutches, but still has the boot.

Good to see you Nelle also.  I meant to mention it before.  This is a really nice board and I think most are getting use to it.

Y'all have a great weekend.

Hello, Friends. Thank you to Jean-AZ, Jeri, Elaine, Nelle, & Sharon for the 'Welcome back' messages. So glad to be back. I did enjoy the CMA's & a lot of the awards went the way I thought they should. Seeing Alan perform was great.
Sharon, about all I'm reading is my Country Weekly Magazines that come in the mail. I just got the one with Alan on the cover yesterday & what a really good article & fantastic pics. I also am reading Sports Illustrated. So that covers my 2 main interests- Music & sports.
It is taking time to get my strength back. I get winded easily but my left lung has not fully re-expanded yet so I have to be patient. The doctors think it will take about 6 months to get over what I'be been thropugh. It's nice to be able to come to the board & find out about Alan & touch base with all of you.
Hugs to All.

Morning All,
I woke up about 2:45 a.m.  Long day today.....
For those of you that saw my posts on FB, we had a scary weekend.  Our 27 y.o. granddaughter was in an automobile accident Friday night and was air lifted to Vanderbilt.  She was in the trauma unit then Saturday afternoon took a miraculous turn for the good and was put in a private room Sunday morning.  The latest reports from our daughter was that she may be released in a couple days.  She has a concussion and staples in her scalp and face.  She was wearing a seat belt, by herself, and doesn't really remember what happened.  She went off the side of the road and into a culvert.  We started praying and I know Karen's church etc., was praying too.  I am thankful she is doing better.  I'm sure she will have a long recovery process, but the prognosis is good.

Four more days to see The Tall Blond Guy!  Looking forward to seeing some of my AJ fan friends too!

Y'all have a great Monday.
