JeanB - we switch to Standard Time this weekend.  Don't forget everybody!  It gets darker earlier and always makes it seem colder to me!
Very windy and chilly here today - the leaves are almost all gone off the trees now.
Warming up to the 70's this weekend.  Gotta love this time of year, you never know what the weather is going to be like.

Welcome Jo!  Glad you joined us here at the board.  Hope you post often and tell us about yourself.  Especially anxious to hear about your AJ concert experience!!

I did start my Christmas shopping and hope to be done soon.  I like to get it out of the way, so I can concentrate on decorating and baking.  Although this year I'll have time for most everything since I retired.   But, it's hard to realize sometimes that I have all this free time - hard to break old habits!

SueM, I know what you mean about not having much time.  I have been steadily busy too.  I wish I could have a moment just to sit and relax but it seems hard to do.

JeanB - We go back to Standard Time in Canada.  Therefore we put our clocks back and get an extra hour of sleep.  We wake up it will be lighter, but at night it will get darker earlier. I believe that is the same as you.  I remember a saying my dad told me when we were kids to remind me which way, forward or back, that we turn the clocks. It is " spring ahead or fall back".  In Canada, we used to change the clocks the Saturday before Halloween.  But they changed that a few years ago.

Jo, welcome to the fan club.

Busy day ahead.  Baby Shower for my stepson's girlfriend.  My husband was a great help yesterday and vacuumed the house for me, while I was getting food ready.  Also, late last night he helped me cut up all the fruit and vegetables for the trays. Therefore, this morning I have to prepare all the sandwiches and cheese tray.  I am very excited for this shower, but I will be glad to hopefully be able to relax later tonight.

Everyone have a great day and talk to you soon.

Sue,
I have missed you so much, but like you, we have retired and been away some also.My dear husband was ill and hospitalized and I was in Mayo also, so we have to have a better year soon! we just got back from our Church Homecoming , it's such a beautiful Church and it was great seeing old freinds and family from way back..Lots I didn't recognize. what was funny, some thought I was my sister. lol.. She is older than I. My hair used to be brunette and the last 30 years Blonde . My Sister was  always a Blonde. So this could have been why ha!,.. we both are tall & look something alike in weight & height. It was funny. My sister didn't get to go as her husband had the eulogy for  family who passed. Never seen so much food and especially enjoyed seeing my old family Church where Dad was clerk and an Elder all my life. I was secretary there before marriage. My Mom's funeral was there, so I teared up a bit. My husband and I married years ago in this very church on that same date of the Homecoming.. married by my cousin Dr. Craig Martindale, 46 Years!
(weird because I'm only 39 lol) Murfreesboro,TN..C. Presbyterian Church. He was there for the Homecoming and did three sermons for their revival. It was such a  Joy! we stopped half way there to rest up, as hubby has been ill. a 13 hrs drive
Sue,
I'm sure your moving and working wasn't an easy task for you all. I hope to see you next year somewhere in Concert with Alan and I want you to meet him too!!!! Take care hon, Jerrie-MS

Hello everyone, I just don't seem to have the time to do much these days, with school, work, remodeling some parts of the house, etc, it seems like the days just fly by.  I do try to read the board every day but just don't take the time to post and since the whole world can read the board, it just isn't the same as before when we had the private platinum area where at least you had to be a member to even read it.

I did have a great time this past weekend seeing Alan 3 times.  I took Amanda (one of my special needs clients) to the one in LA and she was so excited she was shaking most of the time.  She caught a pick that Alan threw and I thought she was going to pass out...LOL  It was a good thing she was holding onto the stage when Alan signed her CD insert.  We drove to the LA venue early in the afternoon because I know how LA traffic is, especially on a Friday afternoon, plus the Lakers had a home game right across the street but we didn't even have a slow down on the freeway....THAT'S A FIRST for me after more than 40 years driving in So Cal.  We hit more traffic coming home from Vegas on Sunday than Friday in LA.

I managed to fall at the venue in Vegas outside before the concert and scrape up my knee again.  All three concerts were great, as always and I realize just how much I miss traveling all over to see Alan.  I hope to do more next year with one of my clients changing the company that provides services which will give me more hours and money.  I will probably be able to pick up a couple more clients through this company.

The weather here has been in the 80's or 90's, then down to the 50's and back up to the 80's every few days so all the trees here are really confused as to loosing their leaves.  It's cold and windy today and is suppose to be warmer by Weds.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying every day.

My husband retired now, so we travel some and visit out Twins & went to All for the Hall, saw Alan & our Church Homecomimg , it was out 46th Anniversary, at that very Church where we were wed. a Beautiful old Country Church.

So glad Amanda got to see Alan, I know she must have been delighted, seriously, it will last a long time to just see Alan.
Meeting him was  my Dream come true, especially appreciate after my husband was ill an we din't get to go as often.

Just want to say Hello to everyone & I am really beginning to improve & get back to the board now.

Today I went to the Infectious Disease doctor & she took out my central IV line & stopped my antibiotics. Will see the lung specialist tomorrow & the chest surgeon Wed but think I'm on the road back to good health.

And as we start the month of November so many thanks to all of you for your support & prayers during a most difficult time in my life.

Just a few short notes here. . . .

Harriet, it's so good to see you back here and knowing that you're on your way on the road to full recovery. Please know that you're always in my thoughts and prayers and always will be. You have been missed here very much.

Terry, it's good to see you back here too and glad to know you have a job again and is/was able to go to Alan's concerts again too. I'm so happy for Amanda. Bless her heart. Maybe she should have a special "Meet & Greet" with Alan. That would really make a dream come true for her. Take care of the knees. Maybe you should wear kneepads next time. . .lol!  Sorry can't resist that one. :-)

Dizzy, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you feel better soon. Jinx, thanks for letting us all know.

Take care all and HUGS!
