Hi all,
Happy 4th weekend.  July and summer is half over!
Busy teaching summer school.
Planning for my daughter's wedding in October.
Bummed I won't be able to go to Alan's concert in Minnesota in September.  A dear friend's daughter is getting married.  It will be a great time but I've been waiting all year for an Alan concert.
Take care all and stay safe!

Hi Sue and All Fans!

This past month has flown by! a Happy July 4th for all!

Sue, sounds like your plate has been full recently. I have thought of you.Don't over-do it and tire yourself out. Missed You! Teachers have so little time and are so stressed. weddings are stressful also, just enjoy it and Congrats on your Grls!

I missed seeing Alan at the Square Grouper here, making his new Video for "Long Way To Go,"Dr Appts, I was so sorry I had to miss that..Not that far to drive. I really miss him and The Strayhorns. wanted to go to LP Field & maybe meet Cindy but was ill, could not go to my son's there for Father's Day! I know this is Dizzy's first time to miss in ages, most likely.

From the sound of the Video, I think it will be great for summer, with the Island sound and a good Country Song!

BHR, Alan is funny, he says it like he sees it, in music..Love his not being pretentious. He did say however," the girls listen to some of it," probably the ones you can understand the beat or words. My Grands listen to all music or the ones
their age listens to.Country is the Best, and Alan Is my favorite Singer..
Take care to All of you Fans and Enjoy the Holiday!

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Sue, thanks for starting the month of July thread. Sorry to hear that you'll be missing Alan's concert in Minesota. Conflict in schedules happens. Maybe you can work out something so you still can go to Alan's concert? Wishing you, your daughter and SIL to be all the best at their wedding in Oct.

Jeri, you're right, Alan have a great sense of humor. I love his wit along with his honest music. Continuing praying for you to be back in good health soon. You take care of yourself.

Harriet, enjoy both the 4th celebration as your birthday. Didn't realize you are having a birthday this Sunday when we got together. I'm really glad now that I gave you the AJ mug. . .lol!

Enjoy the holiday weekend all of you!

WOW.  July already.  Happy 4th of July to all you fans in the States.  It Canada, it is Happy 1st of July.  We had our Canada Day yesterday.  I went and celebrated with my sister last night.  We went to a free outside concert about an hour away.  The group playing was someone we used to go see when we were teenagers.  They would play at the dance hall that we would go to every Saturday night.  They played all kinds of music.  It was nice to see them again. Then there was fireworks afterwards.  Now my husband and I are on vacation.  We do not have anything planned except we are going to the States for a couple of days, to go to some of the Outlet malls, either in Erie, Pennsylvania or Niagara, NY. I need some summer dresses and I heard Burlington Coat Factory and Dress Barn are good stores to go to.  We want to start on our landscaping.  So we will probably get some price quotes done and see what the damage will be there.  We probably take a few day trips to the beach and sightseeing.  Anyways I have to go.  Again have a great 4th of July.  Anita

Anita Hi! Happy July 1st for You!
Will you get to see Prince William and his Kate? That would Indeed be special. She is a Beautiful person and I think the Royal's should be very proud of her, and I hope they are. They will visit here in CA later , I think.. I think it said they stay in Canada for a week! I hope They enjoy it here, certainly seemed to be enjoying themselves in Canada. It's lovely and people are nice also. seemed like a great couple on their honeymoon. Love her style and his compassion. I miss Diana
still at things associated with her children, but life goes on.

Hi Jeri.

No I did not go to Ottawa this weekend.  That is where they are and that is about three hours away.  It was probably very hectic in that area this weekend with it being Canada Day and Ottawa being our capital city of Canada  and Kate & William being here to celebrate that with us.  It looks like they got a very warm welcome from everyone.  They do look like a very happy couple and truly special.  Maybe I will see them in my travels this week when they start traveling around.

BHR

BHR- I actually forgot about my birthday until Hubby started singing Happy Birthday last night. Funny- when I was a child I always remembered my birthday & wanted to get to the next age really fast.
Thank You for the mug. Have had my tea in it every day since we got together. And I enjoyed meeting your family.
The mug is very well made & easy to grip- class job on the mug- just what you would expect on anything related to Alan. It was very thoughtful of you to pick up that mug for me because in this area they sold out right away. You really are a sweet & thoughtful person.

Anita- I love the new Royal Couple. Watched the wedding & have several things on it I ordered from Amazon.

Jeri- So sorry you will miss Alan- we can always hope he will post more dates but he's a workhorse this summer with the dates he's already posted. I'm hoping for an Atlanta concert.

Sue- Hope you enjoy planning for the wedding. My nephew got married June 4th & his sister, my niece, is getting married to a soldier in August. Unfortunately he will be deployed in the Fall. And another nephew who is in Seminary to study for the ministry, is getting married next May. And Auntie Harriet is enjoying all these weddings.

It's July?  Oh my, where has the year gone?  Happy 4th!
Sue, I thought of you as soon as I saw the announcement for the concert at Mystic Casino - so sorry you can't attend.
Harriet, Happy Birthday!  You're such a treasure, always keeping us up to date on all things AJ.  Thanks so much, I feel I don't tell you often enough!
William & Kate are such a beautiful couple - enjoy watching any news about them.

I'm taking it easy this weekend, still recovering from this awful cold I had this past week.  Still not 100%, but a lot better than I was a few days ago.

Sue, thanks for starting the July thread.

I see that you ladies realy like Royals. William and Kate are a beautiful couple, but anyone have seen the wedding of the Prince Albert II of Monaco this weekend? Well if you ask me the new Princes of Monaco is a beauty as well ! Her name is Charlène and she's a ex-swimming champion of South Africa. And maybe you have seen, on tv, the visit of the Belgian Prince Fillip-I and his wife Princes Mathilde to USA last week. Mathilde was choosen by Royalty watchers of whole Europe as the most graceful, elegant of the Royals.  Of course Kate is a few years younger than Charlène and Mathilde. She's still a girl.

Friday i leave to the south of France for summer holidays. On the banks of the river "Lot". In a decor of vineyards and old villages (middle ages). Of course i can't go to France in July without a visit of the "Tour de France". The 10th. stage is passing only at 15 milles of the place where i have rent a little house. Today the stage victory was for a American rider. Tyler Farrar is his name and he's living in Belgium, in Gent (you know were that is Anita). Tyler is living in Gent for a while know (5-6 years) and he's speaking excellent Flemish. His girlfriend is American too and today she said that they stay in Belgium after his career. Too good living !!! lol. Oh yeay ... Tyler Farrar won on the 4th. of July. Isn't it amazing !

I go ending for this evening because i have a" Long Way To Go" till friday ...lol.
Wish all of you a Happy 4th. of July and see you the last week of the month.
Enjoy summer my friends ...

Happy Birthday Harriet.  I heard about "Canada Day" this weekend as our French Canadian friend, Jacques, traveled with us on our motorcycles through Indiana and Illinois. He's from Quebec, and a wonderful guy!

Happy belated 4th and 1st!
I'm gonna take just a minute.

JeanB, your holiday sounds wonderful.  Even to say, "I'm going to the south of France" sounds wonderful.

We had a nice 4th.  Went to friends for lunch on Monday.  Then off to Long John Silvers Monday evening.  We had gone to Spartanburg Saturday night, and my car wouldn't start when we came out of the restaurant.  We got a new battery and it ran fine until this morning when I needed to go to town for meals on wheels.  We were afraid it was the alternator.  I called Jerry and told him.  I didn't even look under the hood.  I know absolutely nothing (almost) about a car.  So I'm here for the rest of the day.  Jerry will have to take me to church tonight if I go.

Hope you had a nice birthday Harriet.  Can't believe you actually forgot your birthday!  LOL!

Okay, I'm gonna go watch some t.v. and read.

Wish I could forget my upcoming one LOL j/k Sorry about your car, i hope it wont be expensive to fix.. we always call Our service to the rescue, it was funny once all dressed up for a B.party and Had to call them, they started it up and we were on our way lol.. not costly to fix..

Sharon you do so much for others..I used to do those things when younger, now I enjoy my Husband more.I miss going
to Church since having vertigo but it's getting better, from two ears & two surgeries in one..
On my 50th Birthday, Hubby rented a limo & took all our family & friends to a favorite restaurant.. My sister brought the
TOMBSTONE cake, even the grim reaper was in one chair, they ALL wore black and had black candles.. the tablecloth was
"OVER THE HILL" on it.. but it was one of the BEST I ever had.. honestly..Being w/loved ones etc.. was worth it besides i didn't look 50 then LOL. I never think of a number, just great memories, I think this is the trick to slow aging, it works for us.. we live good and speak kind and just enjoy what life God gives us! I do have to buy a few extra dresses as they seem to shrink, but I'm still slim for my age..Harriet, sometimes that Quiet time w/Hubby is the Best! My sister has to call me to remind me that I'm catching her in age soon LOL.. Love her dearly..She's a hoot!

Sorry about your car Sharon, some car places loan us a car until they repair ours..Sharon thanks for reminding me , we should seriously think of delivering Meals on Wheels, since hubby is retired..after I get well completely..I love people and this would be a way to do for others, as you do. We are usually so busy doing for our daughter or our son,  whose home and material things were mostly destroyed in the historical Nashville Flood, we need to help here also..Take care to all!
