My husband passed away in June of 2006 and
Martha died in Dec. It will be five years this year.
We use to  talk on the phone every once in awhile
but he is hard of hearing so don't phone anymore.
The weather is crazy here.Yesterday it was so warm
and today it is back to the 20.

Hello, AJ friends. I just saw  the video for Here in the Real World played on CMT Pure Country. What a nice surprise. To think that song launched Alan's career.
Good news from the shoulder doctor today. He had me hold my arms out horizontal & he pushed down on them & had me resisit then he said he couldn't even tell which shoulder he had operated on & I had to tell him. So he did some more testing & said I was way ahead of the curve & could just do my PT at home & come back in 3 mos for a final checkup. Wow! What a relief. The light at the end of the tunnel is suddenly getting a lot brighter as I feel so much better these last 2 weeks. Many thanks to all of you for your support. I am very blessed.

Leslie & Jeri- I agree that there are a lot of good people on this board.

JeanB- Thanks for reminding us to remember Martha on her birthday. That was so thoughtful of you.

Dizzy-I agree- have you seen that awful flooding in Australia?

Kathy- Congrats to your Chicago Bears on their run in the playoffs so far. I am still in mourning over my Atlanta Falcons' loss to Green Bay last Saturday.

Elaine- It's wonderful that you stayed in touch with Martha's husband.

Jean-AZ-You've had your share of snow & cold in your life so enjoy Arizona. Well, pitchers & catchers report to Spring Training Feb 14. Almost time for baseball again.

Hi to bltn.

Everyone stay warm & stay well.

Harriet I have been checking on it everyday..I just worry because I was so afraid
that it would be to bad for them to have the concert...and they had looked forward
to see Alan...I sure hope everthing will be ok for them.

Glad to hear you are doing better it not much fun having to worry about yourself
all the time....It has been a long time healing for you...

Happy New Year to each of you!

Got the computer back this week and I have been trying to catch up.  Still having problems with the accounting software, but at least I can work around it!  This is a horrible time of the year to be without a computer!  Did get a lot of reading done.  LOL!

We also got the snow here and the schools opened finally Tuesday.  They were closed Monday for MLK day, but we still have some snow lingering.  I did take some pictures and will post them on FB when I get a chance.

The time has flown by since Martha passed away.  I just got to know her about 6 mos. before she died.  She was so sweet.

Wishing all of you a wonderful day, got to catch up!!!

Harriet, I am SO happy for you. I hope you can get out and enjoy yourself some now. maybe we can travel soon as we feel up to it. I have been inside too long, except to go to Drs. Dizzy, not to worry, I'm sure Alan's people will check this out before they go anywhere. He doesn't go until March and that is a while away.. Elaine time passes so fast, I know you still miss your hubby.. I'm not so sure I could do as well as you, I have lost all my people in the last five years and home folks I grew up with.. the older ones. now we are the older ones ha! I still have my sister thank God and a few cousins, no close relatives much. It's been so cold in Florida recently, I do not wish for snow anymore. ha My son had snow in Nashville near Alan's. Harriet you do your therapy at home and take care now. I worry about falling too, my Sister and I fall a lot and lucky for me, I must have great bones. . My sister's, sister in law fell and ended up in a private room in a nursing home, they had just bought  a new  estate..and she could not enjoy it, been there since before Christmas. poor girl, btw her name is Harriet too ha! they live in VA near Williamsburg.just had a vacation with my Sister and her husband & bam she was in a mess with a broken femur..and crushed knee. So I have been lucky indeed, I have fallen on my hip too, but thank God no breaks.." crossing my fingers here"  Take care everyone and let's enjoy the New year! Jerrie-MS
Sharon , I have missed you.. Glad you are ok..I heard about your bad weather on TV & thought of you..Sharon thank God, my hubby is a computer engineer & he does ours , it is so odd to miss them..but we all do

Harriet so happy that you are healing so well.
How nice that no more PT.
Sharon glad you have your computer back.I know
I am lost without mine.
Jeri when I lost George I never knew what I was
going to do without him. You get strength  that
you never knew you had. I still have bad days.
Jess is still having a bad time. Teresa asked her what
she wanted to do for her birthday. All she wanted to do
was go put flowers on her papa's grave.Jess writes
beautiful poems.Last week she wrote one about her
papa.Brought tears to my eyes.
Had two inches of snow during the night.I will be
so glad when spring comes.

HariAJFan, good to hear you are healing well.
Elaine, I can understand Jess still having a bad time.  My mom has been gone for nine years and my dad 3-1/2 years. I still have difficult days.

We had some snow last night, but not too much.  I can't wait for spring either.

Friday is here.  It has been a long week at work and I am glad it is almost over.

Harriet, so glad to hear your good news.  Time is the great healer.
Thanks for the wishes for the Bears!  They are playing really good and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  This is only the second time in the history of the sport that the Bears & the Packers are playing in a championship game.   It's gonna be wild!  Glad they have home field advantage.

The high today is only supposed to be 9deg.   It's so cold.  I'm not going out today at all.   BRRR!

Elaine, when my hubby had pancreas inflamation, I came close to losing him, he was iin hospital, It made me wakeup..I would never make it without him but like you, I may have to some day. I am  a Church goer too and my faith is strong but I do not want to lose my husband. he is older than me ..I admire you for getting through this.. Hubby being ill & diabetes has been a wake-up call for me..

My mother , after dad passed in an auto accident( due to a heart attack)My mom , my own hubby taught to drive, she started working and worked until she retired and drove herself and two others to work. I was so proud of mom. she married Dad at 16, they did that back then. she really made me proud and had so many friends. Just a  Great Lady of Faith..Dad too.
when she died in MS, it was right after my meet & greet with Alan.. That is why I really needed the M &G. Seeing Alan helped.
I was holding her  up in my arms and there for her, Thank God.She let go when both of us children& hubbys were there. I told her to go on to be w/God. This Christmas I missed her so.Since my Sisters cancer was hormone related, my Dr took me off tooand I have cried a LOT!Got to check out and see what I can take, to replace it..My mom had cancer too, my Sister is doing well after her radiation( on the spot type) She traveled to get the best treatment..
My Sister and I took turns staying,.she had  been diagnosed w/bcancer herself. we took her and her hubby with us to see Alan. she loved it..and loved his "Like Red On a Rose". I have never seen her smile so sweet , as that night. she adored Alan..Thanks to Alan for making my Sister so happy , even if for one night..
she is still so tired and  still fighting it.. she goes a lot, planning for a wedding( huge) today..sent me a dress she had bought, a photo to see if I liked it, it was gorgeous LOL we have so much fun with her & her hubby..All of you enjoy your Life, it goes so fast  after 50 LOL, this doesn't mean you can't have fun, my hubby and I have a ball. I just do not want to lose him. he is good.. Elaine understands..
Dizzy stay warm & Sue and all of you in cold climates too.even Florida ha! I had made special for my sis and me.love  these special cups big 15 oz and put  our family pics on it, well  photos as Kids and mom & dad... but it is so pretty. .The Cups came today, I cried naturally..when the ups truck brought it today for my sis & me..we are very close..
she wont display them( her house is too perfect) but she will like them, I hope to keep.
Take care all and when I feel better, I will post.. Jerrie-MS

Anita enjoy your weekend off and I hope
you don't get anymore snow.
Kathy it should be a really exciting game
between the Bears and Packers.
Brenda wish we were getting some sun.
We get very little in the winter.
Jeri for me faith and family were the
biggest help. It was good for me that
Jess came and stayed with me every
weekend. It was also good for her as I think
she thought that I would go away like her papa.
Got up to four inches of snow and it just stop
snowing at 11.had to go shovel for Georgie.

GOOD FRIENDS, I SO WISH I COULD MANAGE TO WARM UP ALL THE CHILLY CLIMATES FOR YOU, AND HAD THE MAGIC WAND TO HEAL THE COLDS, ETC!  SPRING WILL GET HERE...IT ALWAYS DOES!! MY DEAR ONES UP IN SOUTH DAKOTA ARE ENDURING IT, IT HAS BEEN SUCH A LONG, COLD AND SNOW FILLED WINTER.

JERI, I WAS TOUCHED BY YOUR MENTIONING THE PASSING OF YOUR MOTHER.  WHEN MY DAD DIED SEVERAL YEARS AGO, IT WAS MY PRIVILEGE TO BE AT HIS SIDE THE ENTIRE NIGHT, HOLD HIS HAND, AND TELL HIM HOW MUCH I LOVED HIM.  I HAD FLOWN IN FROM ANOTHER STATE, AND WHEN I WALKED IN TO HIS ROOM, HE REACHED OUT HIS HAND AND SAID "I LOVE YOU, HONEY", IT WAS THE LAST WORDS HE SPOKE AS HE SOON SLIPPED IN TO A COMA.  I JUST THANK GOD EVERY DAY THAT I WAS THERE.  HE WAS SUCH A GREAT AND GOOD MAN.  I AM NEARLY THE AGE NOW THAT HE WAS WHEN HE DIED, BUT HE IS EVER CLOSE IN MY HEART.

KATHLUVSAJ, I INTEND TO BE ROOTING FOR "DA BEARS" TOMORROW.  MOST SUNDAYS A GROUP OF MY FRIENDS AND I GO TO A MOVIE, AND LUNCH SOMEWHERE.  BUT TOMORROW I WILL BE HOME FOR THE GAME, AND A COUPLE OF US WILL MEET AFTERWARDS AT "WALLY'S" RESTAURANT, MAYBE FOR SOME RIBS!!  ANYHOW, MY VIKINGS HAD SUCH A THOROUGHLY MISERABLE SEASON (WE WON'T GO IN TO MY OPINION ON THAT, EXCEPT TO SAY WE NEED SOME FRESH AIR AT THE QB POSITION!   Roll Eyes SO I'VE ADOPTED THE BEARS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.  MY BROTHER RUSS WOULD BE PROUD OF ME.

ALL OF YOU, STAY WELL AND WARM

Hi to all AJ fans....my favorite fans!

Oh we have had quite the winter----extreme cold and snow!  It's above ten degrees today and seems warm!

Harriet, awesome news, you are on the mend!  You have always been in our prayers.
Kathy, Bill was disappointed da Bears didn't win yesterday.  Jana's future father in law was thrilled the Packers won.  According to Jana he has a room full of Packer memorabilia and he's from out East.  Go figure!
I miss Martha too----she was so cheerful on here.  Remember having her Christmas card ready to go and then the sad news came.  Thankful my parents are so well and thriving.  Miss my inlaws though.
Anita, did you have a nice weekend.
Jean-AZ, great winter to be in Arizona. In less than two weeks, I'll be in Arizona for a short weekend visit to see my parents. They are thankful to be missing our winter weather.
Jeri- think of your sister and pray for her.
Dizzy, stay warm and healthy.  You've had some cool florida temps but in Minnesota--those winter temps would feel
balmy!
Sharon, school closing because of snow......!
Elaine, it's tough losing your grandpa......has to touch your heart to know he was so loved by his granddaughter.
Life has been very busy at work.  Our SP staff increased by 4 new staff members. I'm responsible for the training and paper work.  Finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Safe warm and safe all.
