Wow....another year!
Enjoy your day.  I'm typing this on a jet 29,000 feet in the sky.
Traveling back to Minnesota from Fort Lauderdale.  Wedding to plan in 2011.  Another eventful year for our family!
Take care all.

Hello, Everyone & a Happy New Year to All. I want my health back this year so my New Years Resolution is to do what I can to get healthy.
Thanks, Sue, for starting the January Thread aloft.lol

Just took down the Christmas decorations & glad to get that done.

Hello Kathy- hope it's not too cold in the Windy City.

Jeri- Hoping your health has improved since it's gotten warmer. It's been raining here all day.

Nelle- Hope you are doing well. I'm doing better with the passage of time. Had a close call in 2010. Hope 2011 is much better.

Jean-AZ- I heard there was snow in Arizona. Really?

JeanB- is your weather in Europe improving. Saw all the pictures on the news of people stranded in both European & American airports. They looked so miserable.

Love to All.

Wow Sue! You were flying high posting in 2011-

So happy you got to visit your daughter and meet her Guy she is to wed..
Congrats! I hope you got to meet his Parents too.

Mother hen here, not trying to be a bigot, but to tell what I learned.
I can tell you from experience on planning a wedding, I used a planner to help me in our local Church & used a Country Club for the reception. My son had a beach wedding( My first to attend) ha!
((I later attended a wedding at a nice Church and later the reception was at a nice Hotel Lobby outside, partly covered.. It was a Beautiful white Dress for her and all the attendants wore Black, the groom Black Tux w/Tails.. It had a trio of classical music, Bach, I think by  a huge fountain..and later they ate in the restaurant . It was super pretty).).If I had it to do over I would not buy a designer wedding gown except at a Outlet. You can pick nice ones there, Flowers would be fewer and music we hired the symphony, a few members, but a Trio would do fine.. we could have eaten the flowers, they were imported Roses LOL.
a wedding can be beautiful and  not have to be so expensive.. My daughter wished she had the money later, to decorate her house LOL. She was a model at the time and modeled designer Gowns, so this is how she picked hers out and wow was it expensive..Her girls can't wear a size 5 lol, they are taller than me as teens. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a dress for me, that I could wear later also.My back went out after this wedding Ha! First back problem I ever had too. shaking hands with 200 People did it, in the receiving line.. ha! I was tired already.. Good Luck with yours.. Congrats to your beautiful daughter ! Sue you started out 2011 up high, I hope your New Year will be Great!

Everyone' Happy New Year! Harriet,Dizzy & others let's get better for the New Year! I'm really trying and putting more effort into it..
I wish Everyone the Best in 2011,
Take care and God Bless, Jerrie-MS

Happy New Year everybody !!!
Sue, you are a fast lady, that's for sure! Flying into the new year on a jet speed !
Thanks for starting the 2011 thread.

Harriet, the snow is almost gone and the airports work as usual. World biggest airport London Heatrow was closed, so all the flights came to Belgium, France and The Netherlands. Impossible to put all those passengers in the hotels.
Wish you get healthy soon.

Jerrie,wish you and hubby a healthy 2011.

Kathy and all my AJ Friends, have a healthy and happy 2011 aswell.

Sue, thanks for starting the January thread.  I hope all AJ fans had a great new year and hopefully 2011 will be a great year for all.  I don't usually put away my decorations until after the 7th of January.

I had today off.  Starting back to work tomorrow.  Enjoyed my week off.  It is never long enough.

Elaine, be careful shoveling.  Is it a heavy snow?   We've had a little bit of snow the past couple of days.   But now it's supposed to be really cold the rest of the week - in the teens.    YUCK!

It's only January and I'm already tired of winter!   LOL!

I've just started to read "The Girl Who Plays With Fire".  Finished "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" before Christmas.  Interesting books - a lot of background material at the beginning of the books, but necessary to follow the story & characters.  These are not quick reads (not for me anyway).  I'll have to pick up the last one when it comes out on paperback or I may download it onto my iPad - haven't decided yet.

Stay warm & safe!!

Wow Kathy and Elaine, I never thought about some snow being heavier than other snow!  I have never shoveled snow - never had enough to shovel!  We were raking pine needles this evening!!  It is supposed to get really cold here next week, but probably no snow.  All of you with snow, take care and stay warm.

Oh gosh - some snow is just powdery and glisteny - sometimes you can sweep that- but if it is a wet snow you can break your back with it.  We  haven't had hardly any so far this year. I would imaginge we will get hammered here one of these days.  The girls love to go sledding and can do the hill themselves this year so Grampy isn't getting worn out pulling them back up - they get to stay longer now.   I really like it but I work at a desk from inside my toasty house so I don't have to go out in it unless I want to. Everything is so pretty and clean after a fresh snow and I love it when you have to shovel at night and there is no wind - the street lights make it all sparkly and it is so quiet and warm in an odd way.  Or when we get a bunch on a weekend and when it is done all the neighbors are out shoveling.  It's nice.   NOW - remind me of all of this late March when I have had enough of it and it is dirty slushy wet cold ugly and I am ready for spring...... LOL

Kathy yesterday it was cold so the snow stayed light.
This morning it is so much warmer that the snow will
be heavy when I have to shovel.I am lucky I only have
to shovel a spot for Georgie.
AJtexas depending on how warm it is when it snows is
how heavy it gets. The warmer it gets the heavier the snow is.
January I agree the snow is beautiful.Like a winter wonderland.
My hubby and I use to like going for walks in it then stopping
at a cafe and having a hot chocolate.
Brenda hope you don't get to much snow
We have about two inches of snow so far this morning and
no sign of it giving up.
