What?  You are hoping Alan is retiring.  Where's your loyalty.  The rest of us fans still want to see him for many more years.  What are you thinking?

I'm glad he's not retiring. By what he said today, he never will. Says it's what he loves & not like a job! How fortunate for him & us. YeeHaw!

Thrilled to hear Alan is working on new music and will be doing a 25th year anniversary tour and not retiring. It's so exciting to hear also that he'll be CMHOF's 12th Artist In Residence and that they'll have special exhibit to commemorate his 25th year in country music. A question crossed my mind after hearing all these announcements: Could CMHOF setting up the stage for announcement to Alan's possible induction to the CMHOF next year? We can all only hope so. He is so much deserving of it for years already.

Here's a link to an article that summed up best the special announcement this morning:

Why would you want him to retire?

The press conference was very entertaining with people he worked with telling stories about him and I think it was the most he has talked in a long time, he had to correct one guy about what type of motorcycle he had and on the ski he used in one video, he said it was the one he used as a teen.I just wished he wouldn't have  had his hat on so low you couldn't really see his face good.

As to retiring he said he didn't know what he would be retiring from-he hardly works now, he really showed his sense of humor during the whole thing.

Why would anyone who is a fan club member want him to retire-it makes no sense, I am hoping that person just said it wrong.
