Would have been great if Alan had been on the show. Alan & George Strait are two of my favorite male singers.

I only watched long enough to see my favorite female singer : Loretta Lynn ,on the show. She was great.Once she was done,I turned the channel.

I was in our local Cracker Barrel on Monday, and they have released "Ultmate Collection :Alan Jackson" on CD.It has some of Alan's past hits like "There Goes",plus other past hits of Alan's.

You can purchase it at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Smiley

No concert in the future planned.Alan is not booked close to my area as of right now.

Saw Loretta Lynn in April.Great concert,as always.

Hope to get to see Alan in the future again, the good Lord willing.I've seen Alan 3 times in concert, all were great as always.Hopefully I will get to see him again soon.

40  General Category / Alan Music Discussion / Re: Alan's Baltimore Sun Interview: Where did the REAL Country Music Go? on: April 25, 2014, 09:33:08 am
Keep in mind too,in addition to listening to CD's,in my opnion, listening on line to the stations that DO play Alan's songs, can send a clear message to other stations to the stations that won't play his songs. It can show the stations that won't play his songs, that we wanna hear Alan's songs,as well as other real country stars, and if they won't play their songs for us,we will listen to stations that DO play his songs, even if we have to listen on line.

Just my opnion.

Your welcome Jeri. Smiley

Hope everyone else will give this station,or one of the other stations I listed in my first post a listen. All of the stations I listed do play Alan's songs & real country music, and all of those stations do stream their signal on line.

Also hope those of you in Cincinnati Ohio will give WKFI-AM 1090 a try. This station plays Alan's Country & bluegrass songs, and they also play Alan's gospel songs during the program "Hymns from the Hills" which airs Mon-Fri @ 1 PM eastern time.So those of you in Cincinnati Ohio, give this station a try.

Just heard a song from Alan on KRIL on line.A great station that plays Alan's songs. That station is on AM 1410 in Midland TX,and they also stream their signal on line,so you can listen to them anywhere.

iT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE REASON "REAL COUNTRY" DOESN'T get played anymore is NOT just the people requesting. It is the DJ's themselves who are getting younger all the time and like the more ROCK sound and have no real allegiance to the group of appreciators in the millions of Alan's music.  Therefore it is a double-edged sword  why we are not hearing Alan's warm and heartfelt music - whether Country or Bluegrass.  That will stay in my heart forever and I'll be at every concert my health allows me to be at the Palace of Auburn Hills and Casino Windsor.  Can't wait for more Alan!!!!

Alanfan

There are a lot of DJ's like that. There are some radio stations that play only what they like, and not what the listeners like. And there are some stations that play only what the consultant tells them to play, and can't play what the listeners wanna hear.

But,thank God for the stations that DO play what we the listeners wanna hear, like the stations I listed in my previous post. Those of you who have not listened to any of those stations yet,I whole heartdly suggest you give them a try. Most of the stations I listed DO play Alan's songs, and they do stream on line.So give one of the stations I listed a listen to.You'll hear a lot of Alan & real country music.
