Wow.  The year has gone fast.  All went well with my stepson's surgery.  The surgeon said it was a very difficult operation.  The area around his lungs was very infected so it was very difficult to remove all of it without damaging other parts around it.  He was very sore afterwards, but he is doing well.

Anita, thanks for starting the October thread.   Happy to hear the good results of your stepson's operation.

I ordered the new CD (hope I get an autographed one!), new calendar, new keychain (my other one broke when I dropped it) and renewed by membership in the fan club.  Phew!  The new calendar pictures are all recent ones - YEEHAW!

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Thanks to all for the replies on my stepson.  He is doing very well.  He will be in the hospital a couple more days and then he will be able to go home.  We were on our way there today to see him.  It is a 2-1/2 hour drive.  We had one hour to go and my husband started not feeling well.  We stopped for a bit, but he was getting worse.  We had to call our stepson and tell him we could not come.  We turned back and went home.  Now he is lying in bed resting.  We don't know if it is the flu or if it is food poisoning.  He has had food poisoning in the past and I am telling you, was he ever sick.  That's what I think it is again, just because it come on very quickly.  I will have to see when he wakes up how he is feeling.

Welcome back HariAJfan.  I hope you are doing alot better.

Tammy, I do not envy what you are going thru with your dad.  I went through that with my dad.  My dad died of lung cancer just over 3 years ago.  Two years prior to that my dad got had a very bad case of shingles.  He never did get over them.  From that point, I would go over almost everyday and take care of him and his house.  I was very close to my dad too.  We lost my mom, it will be nine years Oct 9th, and I don't think my dad every got over that.  They did everything together.  There is an empty space in our family now without them.  But I am glad I was there for them both when I could.  Just keep faith. My prayers and thoughts are with you.  Enjoy every moment you can because that is what keeps you going when they are gone.

HI all..........glad to hear about your stepson AnitaMartina.........Still keeping you and your dad in my prayers Tammy.

Here is some good news for a change............Tomorrow Oct 5 is my 12 year anniversary of being breast cancer free.  I was 36 and had a mastcectomy on one breast, massive chemotherapy and radiation where I spend six weeks away from home.  Now 12 years later I am still here..........Hard to believe!  That is what I told Alan at my M&G and told him his music and videos helped me enormously so there is hope for us all!!!  Take it easy everyone!

(((Hugs))) Gwen
