Happy September!

I've caught up on some of the reading, voting, and even got my new AJ Calendar up on the computer.  That's such a treat each month.

Continued prayers for you Harriet and your up coming surgery.  That goes for any of you out there feeling under the weather, etc.

Went to the dermatologist yesterday and have a clean bill of health.  Don't need to go back for another year.  Poor hubby went the day before and had a biopsy taken from his ear and his awaiting the results.  All that outside work when he was younger.

I know I told y'all Jerry & I were going over to see Nicole play at Anderson Univ., well, our daughter and husband will stop by Thursday night and spend the night.  Then all of us heading over to see Nicole on Friday and Saturday.  Clemson has their first football game on Saturday also.

BHR, be sure and give your company a nice tour of beautiful Newnan.  Have you eaten at the Redneck Cafe downtown?  Such a neat place.

Wishing each of you a great September 1st!

September already?   Some of the trees are starting to turn already and even though it's still warm, it looks fallish - does that make sense?

Love this time of year!  Thanks, Sharon for starting the thread.

Looks like I'll be switching between the CMA Fest show and AJ's The Collection on GAC tonight.    What fun!

Hello Everyone!

Oh yes, it Sept.   That means a .5% drop in heat and humidity for us here in Miami. Y'all just wait until late Oct. and Nov. and I get to brag about having having the windows open or sipping a Pina Colada while strolling on the beach, collecting seashells by the seashore. LOL!  (you know how the seashell thing is so hard to say, my memory of that made it very hard to type, so funny!)

Hopefully this will be my last month of Hurricane anxiety.  I am very thankful that we are not getting Hurricane Earl.  There is cause for concern with the second storm behind Earl.  I feel for the people in the current path of the Hurricane.  I know that the concerned areas are real pros at hurricane prep, like we are in Fl.  However, the aftermath effects never get easier with practice.  Looks like Alan's Angels have something to add to our prayer lists, right y'all?!

Y"all got me saying y'all, and we don't even say that in Miami!  LOL!

To the many that are facing illness and challanges here at AJFC, you will remain in my prayers. It certainly helps me to keep things in perspective after reading your stories.

I'll be waiting for some good new too .      Love, Carolyn

G'd Mornin', Everyone!

Sharon, thanks for starting this month's thread. Can't believe it's September already. I was up very early this morning as our son have an early morning flight back to Seattle today. For the first time in weeks I actually fixed my hubby's lunch to take to work with him. He's almost always fixed his lunch for work. I'm not a morning person. . .LOL!

Our son and I watched the CMA Fest 2010 last night. I told him I should have waited until the last hour to watch it. When did Kid Rock and Uncle Cracker become certified country artists? I must have missed something the last few years. Watching those artists performing pop-rockishly, if that word even exist, completely with sweaty faces and necks, made me ask myself if it was a country or pop-rock music I was watching. I do understand that it was hot when the event took place, but. . .if Alan and few others can keep themselves looking remotely dry when/while performing and not pouring in sweat, so why can't the rest of them? Aaaaah. . .nevermind. Pardon my criticsms here. I'm still not used to the changes in country music and don't know if I ever will. Guess I'm just stuck to being a fan of tradional and contemporary country music. BTW, I decided to record Alan's segment of the show and waited and waited and waited. Finally, he came on and then I can't work the the remote control out so missed the first few seconds of his performance. And I thought I'm an adept already with the modern technology. . .LOL! I hope CMT do a rebroadcast the show.

Well, I'm yacking away here, again. Sharon, yes, we'll show my SIL and in-laws the best there is in Newnan, time permiting. No, we haven't been to the Redneck Gourmet Cafe`. Maybe this weekend we'll go. The traffic these days in downtown Newnan is pretty bad. Business owners there are losing customers because of it. This is especially true when the new shoppng center, Ashley Park, opened up. It's located at Newnan Crossing Bypass (near Bullsboro Drive), in the newer section of Newnan.

Harriet, Jeri and Carolyn. . .and everyone else here needing some prayers, you're all continuously in my thoughts and prayers.

Elaine, I enjoyed the chat with you last Tuesday. Thanks for calling me.

JeanB, you're so right about running/jogging being not so good on the knees and ankles even though it's more effective in losing weight than riding bicycle. My hubby, when he was younger, used to do that. It took toll on his knees and one of his heels. And now with excess weight in his body, he refuse to do it anymore. . .his knees can't handle it. We do medium/fast pace walking excercises, though, along with gym workouts. Thanks for your suggestions. Maybe after he lose some of the weight he'll go back to running again.

Hello to everyone else reading this. Ok, it's time that I have my breakfast. You all have a wonderful rest of the week.

Take care and HUGS,
BHR

SmileyBHR I think the last part had the most sound of country
and some of it was poprock country...Thank goodness we
                            have Alan..

BHR, In Belgium we have a proverb saying: "De morgenstond heeft goud in de mond" or "The early bird catches the worm." lol

Last weekend we went to a Country Festival in the Netherlands and had a "GOOD TIME". There was a singer singing "Freight Train" of Alan Jackson. The line dancers were delighted. So was i.
A few months ago i sended "The Official A J PL. Fan Club Almanac" to Alan for a signature. Great was the surprice the postman put it in my mailbox. Thanks Alan, i'm overjoyed !!!
I d'like to share it with you :http://www.mijnalbum.nl/Foto-BG37JN73-D.jpg

Thanks for sharing that Almanac Signature with us.  Where in the Netherlands was the Country Festival?  I wish I was still in Europe.  We had a great trip and lots of fun.  I hope I can do it again soon.

We have had a very hot dry summer.  This past week was very humid.  In the 30's, but feels like 40+.  Tonight we got a good downpour.  I was driving on our major highway and I could not see anything in front of me.  It was coming down so hard.  What a scary feeling that was.  I believe we are suppose to have rain all weekend.

Hello to all.  Anita

JeanB, thanks for sharing your autograph with us.  How exciting!

It's cool today - 60's & overcast.  But, I have my windows open and it's glorious!   Making Italian Chicken soup for my sister's visit - she'll be here tomorrow night.   Can't wait!   Too bad it takes all day for her trip from California, with connections.    Margaritaville here we come!!
