Hi everyone,

Hope all are well and enjoyed the weekend.

Margie, good to see you pop in and saying hello.

Sue, sounds like you had a great weekend.

We didn't do much here.  Hubby had a couple side jobs and had to get things ready for him to work "down the hill" this week.  I have an infected rear molar so I've been nursing that all weekend.  I'll go to the dentist tomorrow, probably just get it pulled.  No sense in going out to dinner for our BD's since I don't think I could eat...LOL

Have a great week everyone.

Hello Friends!

Just updating you all on how things are going with our move. We've done a lot of packing since Friday and right now our living room/dining room are littered with boxes ready to go into the moving truck. We'll finish up packing tomorrow. . .only a few more is left, then we'll let the movers hubby hired take care of the big furnitures and appliances and boxing up our 42" LCD/HD flat screen tv. I don't know about my hubby, but looking at all the these boxes here. . .plus more tomorrow, I don't know if all of our stuffs will fit in that truck. I sure hope so. I would hate for us to make 2 trips getting all our stuffs in our new place in Newnan (hubby's driving the truck). Anyway, early Tuesday morning I'll have my post-op appointment with my doc. . .I'll let you all know the result of that. . .and then hubby will pick up the moving truck. The movers will be here on the early part of the afternoon and load everything up in the truck. . .like I've said, hopefully it will be everything. Then Wednesday morning we'll head back to Newnan and the movers that hubby hired from there we'll help us unload the truck. Thursday  or Friday we'll head back here for a final cleaning of our current apartment and turn the key back in to the manager. We'll stay that evening at a hotel/motel and the next day head on back again to Newnan. Hubby, however said, our son and I doesn't have to come back here with him for the apartment clean up. . .he'll just do it by himself as he would rather I take a long rest and then we'll do the unpacking when gets back (how sweet). I can't argue with that now, can I? Either way, it's going to be a long and very busy week ahead of us.

Hubby had his last day at his workplace here last Friday and he doesn't report to his new job now until 2 weeks from tomorrow, Monday. So, after our move to Newnan he'll have at least one week of rest before he start working again. I'll likely do most of the unpacking like I did when we moved here from WA.

Harriet, sorry I wasn't able to call you when we were in Newnan last weekend. We got so busy looking for an apartment and I was really tired with aching back I just couldn't get myself to do anything but lay in bed and either take a nap or watch tv once we were back in our hotel room. Maybe once we get settled there I'll be feeling a whole lot better and have more time to have a phone chat with you. Can't wait for us to get together ( and Melanie too!).

Gotta go to bed and get a good night rest. Take care all. HUGS.

Morning All,
BHR, thinking of you packing up and moving.  Hope all goes well with the packing, etc.  Rain has been called until Wednesday here.  We're having flash floods up in the mtns. of NC and western SC.  We're fine here.

Harriet, glad you were able to make the Toby Concert.  Hope you got rested up some.

Good to see you on the board Margie.

Looking forward to my trip to FL in a couple weeks.  Latest plans were that we're leaving on Friday, coming back on Monday.  I'm not driving (so far) so I'm just gonna enjoy the ride, plus get to see AJ!  That's why I'm going.  My friends think the concert is just a side trip.  Little do they know!  LOL!

Terry, hope you have good news from the dentist!  Remember there is no time limit for going out for yours & hubbies BD!

My gs starts his football games today.  He's in his first year of stinger football.  Pads and whole works.  I'll miss his first game as I have a meeting tonight, but if nothing happens I'll make it tomorrow night.  Of course the game may be canceled because of rain.  I just wonder how we are with our rain fall now with all this rain we've had!

Y'all have a great Monday!

Terry, good luck at the dentist.  Hope they get it taken care of quickly - you have a BD dinner and concerts to do!!!

BHR sounds like the packing is going well.  Hope the move continues smoothly.  Don't overdo!!!

Harriet, I was just watching the news about all the rain and flooding in Atlanta and wondering how you are doing.  I have a nephew who lives there too.  Hope you are staying dry and the rain stops soon!!!

Thanks for asking, AJTexasFan. I just wrote a long post & got kicked off the internet & lost it. But we are in a Disaster Mode due to heavy rains in & around the Atlanta Area. We had 10-18 inches as of this morning & 6 more inches today & more to come. There is widespread flooding & roads closed. The Chattahoochee & all the streams & creeks have flooded their banks & there have been 6 deaths so far. Interstates are closed in places due to flooding.

The Weather Channel is broadcasting a lot about it & their correspondents are here reporting.I have lived here since 1949 & have never seen it this bad.

BHR most of the flooding is North, West & East- I have not heard anything about flooding in Newnan. You are moving to a water logged city but hopefully by the time you get here it will be better.

Pray for us. There are people that can't get home due to flooded roads, people whose homes are flooded & trees down on some houses due to the saturated ground. We live on high ground & are OK. We are staying home.

Harriet, glad you are safe.  The pictures look awful and so tragic the loss of life.  Unreal the amount of rain you have had.  Stay safe and prayers to all affected.

Harriet, thank heavens you're all OK. Prayers are being sent your way. Thanks for posting your report on your weather/flooding situation there. I appreciate this very much. I was just going to email you to ask you about this as we just now heard about it from the web. We already have all our electronic gadgets unplugged and disconnected and boxed. . .except for the tv. . .we're returning our cable boxes tomorrow. . .so we can't watch anything on tv right now. We have just changed our plans late this afternoon about driving back to Newnan on Wednesday deciding to do it Thursday instead. I guess it's a good thing we did. Maybe the weather and the roads there will be better by then. Also, we got a call from hubby's Mom & Dad this afternoon and they might give us a visit sometime next week. They might want to make sure the roads are clear before they do as they will be driving by some of those areas affected by the flooding. Thanks, again for the report, Harriet. I will get in touch with you as soon as I can.

On a side note: I will try to at least read posts here at least once a day, if I can, from tomorrow till this weekend. I may not be able to post again on any regularity until we get completely moved to Newnan and got some unpacking done. Hopefully, by the time we get moved there this rain and flooding situation is all but over.

Take care all and HUGS!

BHR

Harriet, good to hear you are safe from the flooding.  I've been thinking about you and the weather situation, you are in my prayers, as are all the people affected by the flooding.  We sure could use some of that rain here, the fire is still going and they are worried it will flare up again due to hot, dry windy conditions.  I'll trade you hot dry weather for your wet rainy weather!!

Harriet, I hope you are ok and the rain will stop, they were saying this hasn't happened in 50 or more years.
Lordy, I hope Florida doesn't do this with so many rivers around, concert coming up too!
I have been thinking of you Harriet . My neice who lives in GA, you know where I told you. Anyway she was back in MS to see my Mom,and they were in some of the rain when it started traveling but since she has been there, she is worried about her house and the area..I'm glad she isn't there now but her daughter Ashley drove her and needs to get back to her job, as a nurse in training.
UPDATE>>>- she is HOME and not near her house thank God! they were in only showers going back.)harriet hope it stops soon & you are ok there, should be..

BHR, hope you get moved ok, Terry hope your problem will be ok and you can enjoy eating out w/hubby!
we are due to go see Mom but we have to call AAA to see if we can travel there. that river runs through where we travel by. So much to do, so little time. Looking forward to seeing all of you but so much to do before then, will I ever get it done Yo!
Take care all of you and stay well, Jerrie aka Artsy--
Does anyone remember Pam, Teresa, and Ethel, who used to come here long ago. so many missing now when Kay was here.
I found a card w/their photos at Christmas some sent me..good to see thsoe we talk to.
