Just letting you all know that we're heading to Atlanta very early tomorrow morning to check a few rental homes/apartments. Hubby took only Monday and Tuesday off from work so we will be back home either Monday night or Tuesday morning/afternoon. Hopefully, with that short stay in Atlanta we'll be able to pick out our new home and we can then start moving some of our stuffs there.

Harriett, hope you get well soon. Sorry that we can't get together this weekend but you're right, it's better to play it safe with me still recovering from my surgery. Got your email but hasn't had enough time to sit down and respond to it. I'll be heading to bed after I finish posting this. . .had been a long a busy day, though trying not to overdo it. Looking forward to meeting and getting together with you soon.

Sharon, am I getting any reading done? Are you kidding me? LOL! These days it's a blessing if I get a bit of time to visit here on the board. I must say, however, during the first 2 weeks of recuperation from my surgery I did get a whole lot of reading done. But after that, and with the football season back and plus the prep for our move. . .sorting out stuffs we're getting rid off, doing inventory of stuffs we're taking with us, doing online research for homes and apartments in the Atlanta suburbs, etc. . . .by the time I needed the break I'm back to bed for a nap. And we have not started packing yet! I do have lots of reading catching up to do once we're settled to our new abode, that's for sure. :-)

Caz, good luck on your exam. I have every confidence that you'll do well.

Hello to everyone reading this and all I amiss mentioning.

Well, the bed is calling me so I'll cease here for now. Take care all and HUGS.

be up and see who is there.  I was watching the golf also all and I also like Tiger,
Steve Stricker I am pulling for Steve this time hoping he will win the FedXcup this time.

Good morning AJ Fans,

I don't ride my bike this morning. Still taking antibiotics and the weather isn't so nice. Cold and humid. Not good for my cough!
Somebody was watching US Open? I did and saw a very bad looser. Serena is a good player but she's arrogant and she can better shut her mounth! I prefer Venus. She's a lady !!!
But don't forget there was a winner too ... Congrats Kim !!!

Enjoy sunday everybody,

Jean

Good morning Folks. I woke up in a sweat but actually feel better & hope I knocked off the last of that bug.

JeanB- I apologize just on behalf of this country for the way the match ended last night. Yes, Serena had great expectations placed on her & was expected to win but Kim was the better player last night & I do regret Serena's poor sportsmanship. The layoff must have been good for Kim- she was very quick & very strong & I congratulate her & think she will win the tournament. I hope Serena will apoogize publicly but I doubt she will.

Dizzy- Glad you are enjoying your flat screen. I hope Tiger wins, He's got a big lead now.

Elaine- I agree with Alan that all these digital things I've gotten it the last year make life better but the simple things & the love of a good man trump everything for me. I changed my signature to express that.

BHR- I hope you are successful in finding a place to live in Atlanta. Glad you are recuperating & it's great to see you post, Hugs.

Sue- Still haven't heard on the Meet & Greet & the concert is in 4 days so guess I didn't get one.

Jeri, Alan isn't coming to Atlanta- Oh I wish he were- but I'm going to Toby's concert Thursday night in 4 days & nobody has yet been notified if they got an M & G. I applied for one when I giot my tickets in June. So I'm hoping & maybe next year I'll get to meet Alan.

Harriet, sure hope you get that meet & greet with Toby, I know you're a big fan.  Hope you are feeling better every day so you can enjoy his concert.

Jean, hope your feeling better soon too and the weather gets better so you can ride your bike.  I didn't see the tennis and it's too bad Serena can't get over herself long enough to be a good loser.  Being a great athlete also means being a gracious loser.

Dizzy, Sharon, Jinx, Sue, and anyone I missed from the board, still hoping one of you gets a meet & greet in St. Augustine.

Elaine, it's about the same here for young drivers, it takes a couple years for them to be able to be full drivers without restrictions.

BHR, sure hope you find the perfect place in Atlanta.  Still take it easy and don't overdo.

I've been doing homework and housework all weekend.  Not much else new around here except they finally have about a 72% containment on the big fire.  The sky is finally clearing up from the smoke.  It burned over 200,000 acres.
Have a great rest of Sunday and a great week.

Watched Tiger win today - he had an awesome round yesterday & walked away with it today.

Stopped in to say hello - off to watch the Bears & the Packers.  GO BEARS!!!

Good Afternoon Y'all,
Hope you have a very productive weekend BHR!  You'll be closer to me too, hmmm, 3 hrs. away.

Enjoy the Toby Keith concert Harriet.  Hope you're all well by the time you go.

Had a lazy weekend, well kinda lazy.  Did have a S.S. meeting, then had a meal that the Eastern Star prepared for the Tall Cedars of Lebanon (Masonic group) at noon, I had made macaroni and cheese (2 big pans) and when I brought it found out I only needed to make one pan.  Then Jerry & I went to visitation at the funeral home for the bil of a friend.  Waited in line for 2 hours.  Then Jerry & I got a milkshake and came home.

Didn't do much yesterday.  Finished reading "The Shack".  I really liked that book.  Any of you read it?

We're having another dinner this evening and I'm making lima beans.  I hate lima beans, but that's what I was asked to make for 25 people.  I bought 5 l6oz frozen packages of baby limas, so hope that will be enough.  One package would have been enough if the people ate them like I do!  LOL!

Waiting patiently for my M&G in St. Augustine!

Y'all have a good Monday.

Just to let JeanB know that Serena publicly apologized on her website today- didn't think she would do it. And Kim did win the championship. And Venus & Serena won the Doubles Competition & the biggest shock- Roger lost to del Potro in 5 sets today. What a U.S. Open!

Hi all AJ fans,
Harriet, hope you keep feeling better.  I know you are looking forward to your Toby concert.  Still hoping you'll get a meet and greet. Outbursts at sporting events and music awards are almost ridiculous.  US Open winners did surprise, a young mom and a young man from South America.  Two really sweet stories....Roger was so classy and sweet in defeat.
A gorgeous weekend in Minnesota.  Today was great and the weatherman is promising more of the same tomorrow.  Had my grandson Saturday, so of course I was in nana heaven.  Sunday was my dad's birthday.  We had a wonderful time with family eating and playing games.   Joel was a real trooper so playful and good spirited even though he misses his nap.
Just had a little scare.  Went to delete a sentence and ended up deleting everything I wrote.  Thank goodness, undo typing worked and I got my work back.  whew!
Jean B, hope you are over your cold and back to riding your bike soon.  Also apologize for Serena.   Kim deserved to win!
Looking forward to seeing so many of you in St. Augustine.  It's getting close!

Hello ladies,

Harriet, i agree with you, US Open was the tournament of the youngsters ! Good for tennis.
Kim was great ... winning a grand slam after two years without tennis is unbeliefable. She became a mother and she lost her father. I think she stolen the heart of many New Yorkers. Her parents in law live in New Yersey.
Enjoy Toby's concert.

Finaly i'm over my cold. I didn't came out the last week. watching tv in the afternoon ... there was cycling every day "The Vuelta" " Tour of Spain ".
I see that you all are fine. Let's keep it like that.

Happy Birthday Terry ... Have a good time with  Hubby and family.
