Hello, AJ Friends,
Harriet, sorry to hear you had so much pain again from the rain. We need to be praying for sunny days for you at least until after your surgery and maybe, if possible, beyond that too. You're continuously in my prayers. I had been pre-occupied with our oldest son here with us He's leaving early on Thursday. He still on a job search. We're expecting another family visit a little over a week after our son leaves. Hubby's parents and one of his sisters will be visiting us on the 11th of next month, just for that weekend. They want to see the area we live at. Although they've been residents of GA (the parents) for number of years, they have nerver been here to Newnan nor have they heard of this place up until we moved here. We'll take them around and see if they'll like the place. In the early part of October we'll be preparing for our oldest son's move here in GA for good. He'll be staying with us until he finds himself a job and a place of his own.
Hubby is doing well despite the couple of unexpected incidents the past week that caused some extra duties for them at work. One was a guy who commited suicide on the main road the VA Clinic is located and so, of course they gave some assist. According to witnnesses, including the driver that hit him, he stepped out of his car, sat on the side of the road and waited for the oncoming semi truck to get close and then deliberately stepped and stood right infront of it. The driver swerved to try to avoid him but couldn't. This kind of reminded me of Josh Turner's "Long Black Train" video. And then there was the problem with their phone service. Apparently, the lightning from the thunderstorm we had a week ago yesterday hit a main telephone transmision box that shut off the phone service to their clinic along with other business/office buildings along the block where their clinic is located. It took almost 2 days to fix it and have their phone service back. Hubby put in an overtime on this one. It was quite a week at work for all of them. BTW, to help him lose weight, hubby signed up with Weight Watchers' online weight loss program for men, as per recomendation of his doctor/specialist. He has lost 5 lbs. so far after being on it for about 10 days, which includes excercising. But the diet part, while it's more convinient because he can eat anything he wants to, is really not all THAT easy. Each kind/type of food is assigned points per amount you consume. He is limted to certain daily points every week. . .he gets weekly points increase depending on his weight loss progress and how he's managing the smaller amount of food he's consuming daily. . .and if he has used up all his points and he's still have dinner to eat, well, he does not get to eat dinner. I think, for me, I'd much rather count calories than points. As it was pointed out on their website, it's easy to get carried away with your eating because you're not counting the calories and before you know it you've already used up all your points alloted for the day. But so far so good for him.
Jeri, you and your hubby are still continously in my prayers too.
Sharon, I have to agree with Harriet on the new Sugarland song. But I can't handle Carrie Underwood's singing even worse (any of her songs). I think if LeAnn Rimes is to sing some of her songs, it will come out sounding better. My opinion only and my apologies to all of her fans here.
JeanB, good job on your workout regime. . .riding bike. . .and congrats on your weight loss! Unfortunately, my hubby have preferrence for motorcycle over a bicycle and I wouldn't allow him to ride one. LOL! I told him it's bicycle or no riding at all. He says it's not safe to ride bicycle here and he's right. We don't have bicycle lanes on the road or sidewalks either here where we live at, unfortunately. I supposed he can go to the park(s) here but he much rather walk than ride a bicycle. I'll keep trying in talking him into it, though. You're right, it is a great way to exercise and lose weigth fast.
Hello to the rest of you here and everyone reading this. Thank you all for your continued prayers for my hubby. As always, it is appreciated. Hope you all are having wonderful rest of the weekend.
Take care everyone and HUGS.
