Hello to all of you. I'm doing OK with my various health issues- still rehabbing the shoulder.
It is so hot here you could fry an egg on the sidewalk but I know it's hot everywhere. I went to Cracker Barrel last week & they still had some Alan stuff so I bought the salt & pepper shaker- very nice.

Dizzy- Glad Mazie is feeling better

Elaine- Looks like Canada is as hot as the USA. Hope it cools off for you.

Jeri- You have a lot on your plate. I pray for you.

Sue- Glad you enjoyed your travels & will be moving in your new home.

Kathy- Big congrats on your retirement. You are really going to enjoy this.

Terry- Hope you are not close to the fire. Glad you will be posting again & seeing Alan.

Sharon- Congrats on the great grandbaby.

Hello to Gayle & Leslie. Everybody try to stay cool.

Harriet,

Thanks for your kind words. I hope your rehab is going well, the heat doesn't help I'm sure. The shakers sound nice. I got everything from CB , except those it seems to my husband lol

It has been terribly hot here, heat index all this week about 105 and seems like most of the Country..My dil said
"Nashville has been so hot that their electric bill was huge"..the heat index was in the 100's there also and they are still
working on the house , after the flood. a shame that the "Nashville Rising" show profits only went to Davidson Country.
That doesn't seem fair to me, Williamson Country was hit hard also.

Dizzy, hope Mazie improves , it takes longer as we age..Take care and prayers.

Sue moving into a new clean home would be nice, but I'm sure you are tired from traveling. It seems we need a vacation to recover from one ha!

Terry, let us hear about the Concert Girls! can't wait..Hope the Fire is not near your home.At least you are away..

I looked at Alan photo in CW and I thought the article at the Top was for Alan, that says" we reveal Country's Hottest Bodies" Then  I happened to note the side about Alan LOL Well it's possible! j/k ha! he looks good in that photo, almost like angry, however..

Elaine It sounds hot in Canada too, it may not be too cool for Alan's concerts..You take care.
Kathy , congrats on your retirement! Enjoy!

Try and stay cool everyone, take care Nelle, Jean/az, Jean /B and all reading,

Oh Yes! Alan I hope will be in Nashville, in about the Holidays time. would love to see him! or @ FLorida!

Miss the StrayHorns too!

HI FRIENDS, MY GOSH, I THINK I MISSED MOST ALL OF JULY!  HARRIET, THANKS AGAIN FOR STARTING THE AUGUST THREAD, YOU ARE INDEED A FAITHFUL ONE!  HOPE THE REHAB CONTINUES WELL.  HAVE ANOTHER FRIEND FROM WAY BACK IN MY HIGH SCHOOL DAYS IN MINNEAPOLIS, WHO HAS UNDERGONE KNEE REPLACEMENT SURGERY AND IS NOW ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY, ITS A PROCESS, BUT SHE WILL GET THERE I KNOW.
YES, IT CONTINUES HOT, BUT WE DID HAVE SOME RAIN STORMS THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS, THO A COUPLE WERE VERY DAMAGING TO ROOFS, TREES, AND OF COURSE, THE "STUPID DRIVER LAW" WAS PUT TO THE TEST AS ALWAYS, PEOPLE DRIVING INTO FLOODED AREAS (MARKED) AND HAVING TO BE PUSHED OUT.  SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAT PEOPLE USE FOR BRAINS, DON'T YOU??
MY TWINS ARE ON A ROLL SO FAR...AFTER SEVERAL GAMES WHEN THEY JUST COULDN'T GET IT DONE, BUT I KNEW THATS THE NATURE OF THE GAME, AND PRETTY SOON EVERYTHING CLICKS AGAIN, HITTING, GOOD PITCHING, AND GREAT DEFENSE, JUST BE PATIENT!! I DO WORRY ABOUT JUSTIN MORNEAU, OUR SLUGGING FIRST BASEMAN, HE SUFFERED A CONCUSSION THAT KEPT HIM FROM THE ALL STAR GAME, AND IS STILL RECOVERING.  HE IS SUCH A YOUNG MAN.
ON THE I8TH OF THIS MONTH I HEAD UP TO MPLS FOR OUR WEEKEND OF BASEBALL, WITH MY SONS, GRANDSONS, AND THIS YEAR SOME NIECES FROM FLORIDA, ARKANSAS, AND WISCONSIN.  A GRAND OLD TIME WILL BE HAD, I'M SURE!!  AND I WILL GET TO SEE THAT BEAUTIFUL NEW TARGET STADIUM, CAN'T WAIT!!  HOPE "MY BOYS" WIN BIG FOR ME.  GOT MY TWINS JERSEY ALL READY TO GO, THIS GRANNY WILL BE ROOTIN' FOR THEM, IN PERSON, THIS TIME!!!
TILL NEXT TIME...
YOU ALL BE WELL AND COOL NOW,

jean-az/allALANalways

I started a post and had to leave and it timed me out - so I'm starting again.

This is my first day of my retirement and I feel like I'm on vacation.  It'll take a couple of weeks to truly feel like I'm retired, I guess.  I have a long list of things to do around the house and it's hard not to do everything right away - I have all the time I need to work on them.

JeanAZ - glad your Twins are doing good.  The Cubs have wasted another year and are now trading away some good players.  We don't have a pitcher worth his salt anymore.   I don't blame Lou for retiring after this year.  Nobody can manage this team.

caz - good luck finding a dress for your daughter's wedding.  Congrats to her!

It's hot here too, though not as hot as the South.  Keep cool everyone!

Hello Fans!

Prayers for all you and warm wishes you are all feeling good..

Kathy, relax hon and enjoy that vacation.. First just relax & get some good rest maybe. It seems odd at first  but you will adjust and enjoy it..

BHR I hope your hubby is doing as well as can be expected so early.. and you are holding up well. hugs and continued prayers.
Caz, I can give you some advice on mother's wedding dresses.. Do not waste money on a designer dress. I did. If I had it to do over I would go to a factory outlet where they have oodles of them & choose one.. My daughter had a dress
that was designer too, wasted money again..much prettier ones we saw later..at a huge outlet.. designer too.
we should have eaten the flowers they were so expensive lol Had to be imported roses. we hired a part of our symphony
here to play in the church & country club, never  would I do that again.. Just a Harp is plenty , she had a victorian wedding.Caz now that I really blew it, I would say to get a dress I could wear again later.. mine looked the color of Hillary's lol... and my daughter's dress was as fancy as the Vera Wang.. what a waste... it is stored now & her girls are bigger than a mere size 5 lol .. we wanted to give our daughter a great wedding, but it was her choice..she hates it now
but treasure being that small ha!

we have watched about sharks all day long on TV, I am not going to the beach soon LOL

hot hot hot here..got to run now.. Elaine glad it  s a bit cooler for you at least ..

Take care too all of you,, no time to read posts or write now..Jerrie-Hot FL. blustry MS!

Hi All,
Well our company left Tuesday (that was yesterday, ha ha!)  Seems like it was longer ago than that.  I have done some laundry and some other stuff, but really have been lazy.  Think I'm still on vacation.

I have an insurance audit by phone tomorrow morning.  Changed my delivery day for Meals on Wheels, so did that today and went to the grocery store.  Other than that, just taking it easy!  Love it!  Of course, if anyone comes to visit, they will just have to ignore the house.....

Kathy enjoy your retirement.

Harriet, good to hear that your shoulder is some better.  It's hot here.  Of course, I'm in this wonderful A/C house.  So blessed to have A/C.  As far as the weather.  I'm not gonna complain, I like it better than the cold.

Our daughter and family were here for the weekend.  I'm not use to having people here!  I enjoyed them, but was also glad to have the house back.  My gs got himself a bowl of cereal the first night and didn't turn the light on in the the kitchen (Huh), poured hummingbird feed in the cereal!  Yee Gads!  It's been way to long since I had young people here...LOL!

Okay, I'm gonna go make a tomato pie.  Have a good evening.

Hello, Friends. Hope you all are withstanding this heat- I know it is everywhere. The temp on our porch this afternoon was 100 degrees.
Finally have news on my shoulder. It has kicked up in the last couple of days & my elbow has been hurting for a long time & I have been telling the Physical Therapist there is something wrong with my elbow. Well, today I saw the doctor & he said my shoulder has regressed & is worse & I now have tendinitis in my elbow on the same side. So he stopped the  PT & ordered am MRI which I wil get next Wed. I am so glad he fianally decided to get an MRI- I have been dealing with this issue for 4 months. So it's both good news & bad news. I just want to know what is wrong. And I do appreciate any prayers you might want to send my way.

Sharon- I too am so fortunate to have central air conditionig.

Jeri- I kow the heat is even worse where you are. I think there is a cold front to the North of us that might moderate the temperatures for the weekend to the low 90's.

Kathy- I am so happy for you. It brings back memories of my 2005 retirement. Congrats & enjoy yourself.

Jean-AZ- glad your team is playing better. My Braves have seen thier lead in the NL East shrink from 7 games to 2 games. The Phillies are nipping at our heels. We need to start hitting. Our pitching is good.

Love to All. Stay cool if you can.

Harriet, hugs and prayers. I do hope you will be ok..

I'm so sorry you have tendinitis in your elbow. You know had they done the MRI early on, you might be better by now..
You have my prayers as you go through this and always. It irritates me at times when the DRs do different tests for my husband, wondering if they are doing the right thing. now he may have to have the lump place removed in his pancreas. we have to go see what they decide..I had rather it be myself ill, than him. he has not been sick much & really is not taking it so well. he never complained ever..I was so lucky.

My sweet GD came over today to show me her new braces, she looks beautiful, so when they are removed she will be more beautiful ha!I'm a prejudiced Grand ma ma lol..They ate with us , she had a bit of problem eating but wants to be thin anyway .She is taller than me 5'10"@14. ha

BHR, so sorry to hear about your hubby, at least he doesn't have the other but  hepatitis according to what , can be bad too.. Naomi Judd got hepatitis C or D..when she was a nurse and she's lived a long life.I guess lots depends on the type..
Prayers for your husband and you too.

Lordy! Sharon if I didn't have C. air conditioning in Florida, I would be fried ha! It's still hot however out, too much so, to do any yard work, my hubby likes to do a bit at least.. I know what you mean about little ones visiting, when your not used to it..ha!
Dizzy you keep hydrated , I always have a water glass in my hand..Hope mazie is improved too. prayers for all of you who are ill and family who is..Harriet, I had an MRI, it's nothing now, They should have done that at first, I think.,but I'm no Dr either..Prayers for you and all who need them..
Take care to All of you Elaine etc..Terry where are you girl lol Enjoy! Stay cool.
Thank God for cool air whew!

So sorry to hear you are still dealing with your shoulder Harriet. You are in my prayers.  Have you ever heard of "red oil"?  You can get it at the pharmacy.  It comes in a little clear bottle, but is wonderful for bug bites, muscle aches, just about anything.  It wouldn't hurt to try it along with everything else.

Jeri, when we first moved to Miami in '56 we did not have A/C.  No one did!  Didn't have A/C until the mid 60's, then it was a treat.  We managed.  Of course the stores had A/C, and you would get cold walking into them.  No malls then either.  We are so acclimated to the weather, we couldn't stand not have A/C.

Let's all remember these warm temps around February!

I'm waiting on the ins. co. to call, so I don't want to get started doing P/R or anything else.  Of course, sounds like a good excuse to me.  LOL!

Y'all have a good day!
