Local wish comes true
Most teenagers only get to dream about what it would be like to meet their favorite recording artist, but local Vandalia 14-year-old, Brent Williams was able to see, hear and feel all the action.

With the help of A Special Wish Foundation in Dayton, a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to making the dreams of children with life-threatening disorders come true, Williams was able to meet his favorite country singer, Alan Jackson.

Williams, who suffers from cerebral palsy with multiple disabilities, was able to attend an Alan Jackson concert at All Pro Freight Stadium in Lorain County, Ohio with his parents, Marla and Mike Kovacs and brother, Jeremy.

Watching Alan Jackson perform from the third row, "Brent laughed and smiled throughout the entire concert," said Marla Kovacs.

"Everyone was so nice," she continued.

Brent was even given a guitar pick that Alan threw to him during the concert.

Brent was even able to meet Alan before the concert and receive some inspiring words from the country star.

"Alan was so kind and spent a lot of time with Brent, "said Marla Kovacs.

In addition to the concert, Brent and his family were able to spend a weekend around Lake Erie enjoying the sights of the area. The activities included visiting James A. Garfield's house, Thomas Edison's house, Lake Erie's lighthouses and even lunch by the lake.

"It is something that he will always remember," continued Marla Kovacs.

The trip was arranged by A Special Wish Foundation Inc., a non-profit charitable organization fulfilling the dreams of children with life-threatening disorders. The foundation handles travel and lodging, including air travel, hotel expenses, meals and spending money for the wish child and his or her immediate family.
