I vote every day but am watching "Hard Hat..........." take a dive on GAC pole. We need to be more compulsive about voting for Alan to keep him out there on top. He's the best. There are many beautiful songs on that album - Taillights Blue, After 17, Till The End etc. I don't think theres one that I skip in my car. I simply love them all and Alan's voice.
I want him to come back to The Palace of Auburn Hills or Casino Windsor. He's very popular here and "Hard Hat" is the theme song in Michigan with all the automotive people here. They love him dearly. I last saw him in CT where my daughter lives and that was a spectacular show. He gave us our money's worth and more and more. No one would care if he had NO opening act, but I don't know how that works with the $$ situation. I don't know the business end of concerts but I'll go if he'll come!!! But I need elevators. I'm old but still in love with the soothing voice of Alan and he is not very hard to look at either. (YEH!!) I'm not dead - just old. He can sing any group of songs he likes and I'll be there. I vote almost every day and it breaks my heart that he seems to be neglected all the time anymore. He certainly doesn't deserve that. He's a living legend and not many come even close to his talents.

Interesting that you use the word "neglected". Alan is a Superstar and he has been neglected at awards nights and is in the middle of a voting group which is younger and more in tune with songs that are almost Rock. I realize I am getting older but Alan is young enough to be my son and I consider him in his prime. He is simply competing with kiddies right now. His songs have depth which isn't always understood by the younger group. They have their rights too - to favor the new kids on the block, but I wish there would be more recognition for Alan and his fight to keep TRUE COUNTRY as a tradition. His honky tonk is spectacular too and the Strayhorns are the most talented group I've heard in years. It's just magic to hear them play, each with his own very special talents.
Here's hoping Alan will return to our Michigan area very soon at the Palace or Caesar's Windsor. Those concerts were wonderful and had all that any age group would love. I wonder if his contract with Arista being up has anything to do with all this. What do you think? I don't know the business end of the music industry. Alanfan

I don't understand for the life of me, either, how this song was so over.looked on the radio {{at least in my area}} .........compared to some of the other music that's being played, it just a shame and I'll leave it at that.
And as far as Media.base ratings are concerned, to be nice and polite,I absolutely don't see how some songs JUMP WAY up there and haven't been playing long AT ALL.... Am I missing something here??? Urrrrrrrrr..............
Wonder which song Aj will release next?? I hope it's going to the other "one" I love too!!!

Voting every day on GAC. Radio here in Atlanta did play Hard Hat & a Hammer. I don't know why other stations couldn't play it enough for it to do better than a Top 20 but I don't think Alan is losing any sleep over it.

Thank you Alanfan. You can get right to the heart of things. Like you, I just do not understand why Alan gets passed over time after time. He has been the most nominated artist in country music for many years, but wins are not there. Know he is loved and respected but it seems who ever is the current media star gets played and played again. Broke my heart through Like Red On A Rose as Alan and Allison turned out a fantastic CD and it just was not played by country. As far as Arista I do not know anything about that either. Maybe ACR forthcoming? Today as I was driving into Wasilla, KASH radio out of Anchorage, Alaska played ZAC Brown and Alan. DJ loves the song, sees it going fast up the charts and spoke highly of both artists, the words, style and hook. I personally love Alan saying "come on son" in his deep voice. Then they later played "Country Boy" to my surprise, as HHH is in free fall. Yikes.... Alan is busy recording with other artists right now but i was hoping we would get another CD before a second year rolled around. Too long in between for me. -:) Marian

Thanks for all your responses and educated opinions. I'm sure Alan isn't losing any sleep over all this either. I just love him so much and wish he would be more recognized and played. Maybe I'm just too in love with him if that's possible. I take things to heart more than I should but I want him to shine because he is so talented and remained true to his roots. That kind of loyalty is worth rewarding. It's not exactly difficult to listen to his beautiful music and mellow voice. It's even easier when you're looking at him (heh, heh). He's just a cute young man to me - just like my son. Alanfan

Thanks for all of your thoughts.....I am not giving up on Alan ever. I just voted again! I know it's the young people who are more accustomed to new technology that are keeping those "near Rockers" at the top of the charts. They still will never compare to our man.
