Hello, Friends, another month is upon us. Time flies. It is hot & Georgia as it always is in July. I'm doing well in Physical Therapy & making progress.

JeanB- Glad you & Martina got together- bet that was fun. Hope you are still doing well.

Jean-Az- thanks for the advice about the ice & thanks also to Jeri for the same. Jean, I love your humorous literary style- you remind me of the author, Erma Bombeck.

Welcome back Jenny & Kimberly.

Hello AJFans!
It's raining in sunny Florida!
Harriet I'm so glad you are improving and starting off July in a good way! Keep taking care!

Kathy Congrats on your retirement and also your Birthday! It's nice to see someone young enough to get excited on a Birthday ha! It seems the older I get, the more cards come , over the hill etc..ha!

I hope everyone has a better July and celebrates the July 4th holiday! My extended family here is working, so no celebration, just us  home & enjoying being together. I appreciate that more, as time goes by it seems.

Jean/B I thought Harriet meant Martina Mcbride ha! Now that would be a thrill also ha! I remembered it was an AJ Fan, sounds like you had a wonderful time, so happy for you! All the Fans of Alan's I have met are just so super nice and I only saw them a while. I have seen Terry several times but she is all over the place , mostly at the stage ha! and I stay with my husband, he is so good to take me to Alan's Concerts, when he can go.I enjoyed seeing Dizzy & Sister,Sue, Louann,Jinx

Everyone enjoy the weekend. BHR keeping you & yours still in our prayers, always.Sue I hope you are ok hon, Elaine, Dizzy, jinx, Nelle, Jean/b - Jean/az and all of you gracious Alan Fans reading, Oh yes! I met Sharon too, can't forget her, she went down front with me, to get Alan to sign my Book of Denise's, Thanks btw!

Enjoy! and let's not forget our men and women in uniform, Thanks! Jerrie-FL

Elaine I wish it was warmer for you.  We are having it warm or hot right now. I love it at 80 degrees. All year round that is, but no such luck here.      Kathy I am happy to hear that you will be retired soon and also have a HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  Take Care  everyone and have a HAPPY 4th. OF JULY WEEKEND.   I too as Jeri said please remember our troops.

Harriet,

I know this is not where this should go but I am not savvy about this forum so please
understand.  I have a QUESTION and hope someone will clear it up for me.

I was listening to GAC and the host was describing Brad Paisley's "Water......."  and the
video setting.

They showed a scene from a video and Brad talking.  I think he was saying that Alan
Jackson's presentations at his shows are BORING!!!  Then he went on to show
what he had done with his.  I thought they were friends.  It does not sound like
Brad because what I know of him says he's a very nice person.  I don't hear much because
I'm not in the "know" being from MI, but I'd like to think that's not true.

Did I misinterpret what he said?  I think Alan's presentations at his shows are great
and just enough without being a circus in the making.  It's real and simple and I love it.

Help!!

HI FRIENDS...PUTTING OFF GETTING AT MY SATURDAY CHORES, AND YOU ALL ARE A GOOD EXCUSE!
JERI, I'M GLAD YOU GOT A GIGGLE OUT OF MY "FALL" THING, THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW!  BLESS YOU, AND THO I DON'T OFTEN MENTION EACH AND EVERY ONE, ITS ALWAYS FOR EVERYONE.  WE HAVE TO LAUGH WHEN WE CAN, JERI, BECAUSE ITS A PRETTY MAD-MAD WORLD OUT THERE.  THERE IS A MAYO CLINIC HERE, TOO, DIDN'T KNOW THEY HAD CLASSES TO HELP AVOID FALLS...A PARTICULAR PROBLEM FOR "OLDIE BUT GOODIES" LIKE MYSELF.  (TRUST ME, ONLY ON THIS BOARD AM I STILL A "NEWBIE"!!)  ESPECIALLY A NATURAL BORN KLUTZ LIKE ME.  MY BROTHERS WERE ALL SUCH GOOD ATHLETES, BUT I THINK I GOT SOMEONE ELSE'S FEET.
ALANFAN, I DO HOPE THE BRAD PAISLEY STATEMENT ABOUT ALAN WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING, BECAUSE BRAD MAY BE A FINE ENTERTAINER NOW, BUT HE HAS A LONG, LONG WAY TO GO TO MATCH ALAN, COME BACK IN 20 YEARS, BRAD, AND LET US KNOW WHERE YOU ARE!
ALL YOU BASEBALL FANS, WANT YOU TO BE AWARE THAT MY TWINS ARE COMING ALIVE AGAIN AFTER A PRETTY MISERABLE JUNE.  MY BOYS DON'T SEEM TO TRAVEL WELL, BUT THEY ARE BACK HOME NOW.  TWO GREAT GAMES THIS WEEK END AGAINST TAMPA BAY, WE LOST THE FIRST 5-4 IN 10 INNINGS, AND WON LAST NIGHT 3-2 (OR WAS IT 2-1, ANYHOW BOTH REALLY GOOD GAMES.  TAMPA BAY HAS A SUCH A GOOD TEAM, LOVE TO SEE TEAMS, LIKE MY TWINS, WHO CAN PLAY REALLY GOOD DEFENSE.  CAN;T WAIT FOR NEXT MONTH AND OUR ANNUAL BASEBALL TRIP TO MPLS, NOT ONLY TO SEE "MY BOYS" PLAY, BUT TO SEE THE NEW AND BEAUTIFUL BALL PARK...AND TO BE ONCE AGAIN IN MY BELOVED HOMETOWN.
GEE, I GUESS MY MAGIC-CLEAN-THE-CONDO-WASH-THE-CLOTHES WAND HASN'T WORKED AGAIN AS I SAT HERE, SO I BETTER GET AT IT...OF COURSE, THE PAPER AND A CUP OF COFFEE FIRST!
PLEASE BE WELL, COOL AND HAVING A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL 4TH OF JULY WEEK END.  STAY SAFE...

AlanFan,

I'm sure with Brads sense of humor, he was joking about Alan.. He only recently has done serious songs much. most were humerous or quirky.. Remember It was on The Giants Presentation that Brad played for Alan, that Guitar and  singing w/fellow Country buddies, Alan, George Strait, and Dierks Bently. Loved that video of all these Country guys singing "Country Boy"! Great Song! Alan liked doing that one, you could tell.
Brad seems super nice, can't amagine him being serious, just teasing I'm sure.

BTW, welcome to the forum, you are Indeed welcome and after you post a while and know that Alan's Fans are all super nice people, you will feel right at home here.

I hope all of you had a Happy July 4th  , we ate  first Then watched the Boston Pops w/Toby Keith and Greg Fergerson. It was great, we switched to watch NY too! we ate and ate more and more. ha!

The Military men and women brought tears to my eyes just remembering how much we had in common with these Guys,
during my husbands Military career..You can feel the way they feel, after having experienced it.So great to see all Branches represented and the music was classy and delightful! I must say, Toby pulled this off with feelings and showed some class, honoring these men and women. I need to get on that treadmill and run these snack off now... wow I ate way too much.,

Our daughter and her children really enjoyed it here with us. we had a blast! My teen GD is getting braces this week, poor baby. ha! She will look beautiful. She already is.

We want to go home soon to see my Mom's grave marker..it should be engraved by now..Next I want to go to Williamson Co. and see my grand babies and family..we will stay in a hotel if we can find one near.. I hope the one we stay at is open now. I want to wait to see how my Teen does getting her braces.. etc.. Her Mom works..
I hope all of you had a Wonderful Happy July 4th weekend! Thanks Jean/B for the nice wishes!

This is a Great Country and Thanks to our Military for Serving and all who served..USA! nothing better!
Loved Toby's Song "American Soldier"! Thanks Toby for visiting the Troops over & over...Please keep the Lingo better around our children. Thanks for the Music, it was good to see the military so proud to serve and getting to talk to Toby..

Toby has dropped weight, perhaps he lost some of that elated ego too, thankfully!

God Bless The Ole USA! I Love This Country!..having been all over..in the Military.
Take care Everyone and all, Jerrie-FL

Jeri,
Thanks for those encouraging words about Brad's comments on Alan.  I did watch the Giants show
and didn't think Brad would have a mean bone in his body.  Neither does Alan.  I love him so much
and his concerts are terrific.  I saw the current show - went to CT and saw it with my daughter
who lives there.  I had not seen her house since she moved from MI.  I'd love a M & G someday and
maybe an autograph if I got lucky.

I also love the Military men.  My deceased husband was in Korea and they got forgotten for
years.  He did his share also.  He died in 2003.  Picking up the pieces is not so easy but I'm
doing ok now, but age does limit you a bit.  Bless you getting over your loss too.  Thanks for
writing.  Alan's fans are good people.  You can tell at the concerts that they have pretty good
manners.  Huge crowds and no big problems!

HI FRIENDS, HOPE YOUR 4TH OF JULY WAS A HAPPY AND SAFE ONE.  I ALWAYS, ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO ANY EXCUSE TO "WAVE THE FLAG", OUR BELOVED RED, WHITE AND BLUE.  ALL 4 OF MY BROTHERS ENLISTED IN THE NAVY RIGHT AFTER PEARL HARBOR.  MY TWIN BROTHERS, DON AND DOUG, ENLISTED THAT JANUARY WHILE STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL, AND WENT IN IMMEDIATLEY AFTER THEIR GRADUATION IN JUNE.  MY OLDEST BROTHER, WALLY, WAS A NAVY PILOT LOST OVER THE OCEAN, NO BODY RETURNED OF COURSE.  I WAS 12 AT THE TIME.  IT ALWAYS BOTHERED ME SO MUCH THAT THERE WAS NO MARKER FOR HIM, NOTHING TO SAY THAT MY HANDSOME, KIND, BIG BROTHER HAD BEEN HERE.  WHEN I GREW UP I BEGAN THE JOURNEY TO GET A MARKER FOR HIM. THO IT TOOK ME SEVERAL YEARS TO CUT THRU ALL THE RED TAPE, AND FINALLY GET ALL THE DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO ALLOW A MEMORIAL MARKER PUT IN PLACE AT FT. SNELLING NATIONAL CEMETERY IN MPLS.  CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT THAT MEANT TO ME WHEN I FIRST VISITED THERE AND SAW IT.  I BROKE DOWN AND CRIED LIKE A BABY, ALL THE TEARS FLOODED OUT THAT I HAD "STIFF UPPER LIPPED" ALL THOSE YEARS TO TRY AND BE BRAVE FOR MY PARENTS.  NOW, EACH AND EVERY TIME I MEET MY SONS AND GRANDSONS IN MPLS FOR BALLGAMES, WE GO OUT TO THE CEMETERY, BLESS THIER HEARTS, SO I CAN  I LEAVE FLAGS AT WALLYS MARKER, AND MY BROTHER DOUG'S, AND AN UNCLE (WW1) ALSO BURIED THERE.  WALLY'S MARKER READS "BELOVED SON AND BROTHER", AND HE WAS CERTAINLY THAT.  IT IS IN A SECTION OF MARKERS FOR THOSE MISSING IN ACTION.  NATIONAL CEMETERIES ARE KEPT UP SO BEAUTIFULLY, I'M SO AT PEACE WHEN I VISIT MY DEAR ONES THERE.  GOSH, DIDN'T INTEND TO "GO THERE", JUST WANTED TO SAY HI AND HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE FESTIVITIES THAT HONOR THE GOOD OLD USA, LIKE I DID.  TOBY KEITH FEELS SO DEEPLY AND SO SINCERLY ABOUT ALL OUR TROOPS, HE DID A FANTASTIC JOB.  AND, WHENEVER I HEAR OR SEE ALAN SING "WHERE WERE YOU..." I THINK NOT ONLY OF THE HORRORS OF 9-11, BUT OF DECEMBER 7, 1941, THAT CHANGED OUR HOME FOREVER.

ONE SIDE NOTE, WALLY WAS KILLED THE END OF OCTOBER, MY 12TH BIRTHDAY WAS LATE NOVEMBER, WHEN THEY RETURNED HIS BELONGINGS THERE WAS A MILITARY POSTAL BOX ADDRESSED TO ME, AND IN IT...A GOLD LOCKET WITH NAVY WINGS ON THE FRONT.  MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT.  I STILL WEAR IT EVERYWHERE, HIS PICTURE INSIDE.  I KNOW YOU ALL UNDERSTAND HOW I TREASURE IT. GOD BLESS AMERICA, AND ALL OUR VALIANT BOYS OVER THE YEARS WHO HAVE KEPT US SAFE AND FREE.
