Sharon, looks like I'm late again with my wishes, was late for your BD, now late for your Anniversary, glad you had a good time with your family. Never heard of Fatz.

Remember, I think it was approx. two years ago Terry, you and I rode the Blue Heron (think that's the correct name) to see A. J.'s fish camp?  Bet Kenny wishes he hadn't purchased it now. But like he stated material things (maybe not his exact words) can be replaced.

Hope everyone who isn't feeling good gets well soon.

I just don't have the time to get on here everyday, takes up too much time, even though I know I miss out on seeing what's going on.

Hope everyone has a nice MOTHER'S DAY.

Morning All,
We just keep hearing more and more about the flooding in Tennessee.  It took the news media long enough to think it was important.
Thank y'all for the anniversary wishes.  We had a nice anniversary, our son and family took out us to eat at Fatz and it was fun.
I'm reading a good book my dil lent me, Same Kind of different As me, by Ron Hall & Denver Moore.  True story of a homeless drifter and an affluent art dealer.  My dil's pastor gave a copy to each of the elders at their church and after she read it, passed it to me.  I am having a difficult time putting it down.
Wishing all of you a good weekend......

Happy Anniversary Sharon...Jerrie

I'm taking Alan's original cookbook with me tonight to try to get it signed.  I got a signed one from the fan club of the second one
I took my original last year to Corbin. I turned it to the Cornbread recipe page when they did Where I Come From. Alan saw it,pointed to it and nodded his head.

Was in Nashville about a month ago. Took someoneto the airport and spent the night before their flight.
Went shopping at Opry Mills. Drove around the Opryland Hotel.
Hard to believe what it looks like now.
Most of my friends, several in Franklin, were spared. Only got water in yards or starting up their driveways.

They are giving rain for my side of the state, wbout 5 days out of 7 this week.
Hopefully not for the Nashville area.

Need to read back and catch up more......

Had a very nice Mother's Day!  Hope everyone had a good one.
It's really cooled down here - some rain in the forecast.

My Cubbies are playing just awful baseball - their pitching (especially relief) is horrible.  Very disappointing.

Have a good rest of the week!

Hi Friends Just want to give you a report on my visit to the shoulder specialist:

The doctor seemed like he expected me to make more progress & he will see me again in 2 weeks & if there is not significant progress he will have me get an MRI. I still have very limited range of motion & a lot of pain in the shoulder.
I told him the pain medicine is making my tummy sick & so he gave me a Cortisone injection- Maybe I can decrease the medicine.

Kathy the Braves are in last place in the East & are having trouble scoring runs. It is discouraging- I empathize with you.
The Braves did have a good game last night- beat Milwaukee 8-2 & got a Grand Slam. I hope this means they're turning the corner.

Hello to the rest of you. I'm having to limit computer time as I'm sore from the injection- but in the long run it will help.

Harriet,

I hope you feel less pain after the Cortisone injection. I can't take pain meds either, for the same reason as you.
I wish he had done an MRI to save a lot of time. They did one on me the day I fell, but I was in Mayo hospital.
Sure hope you feel better soon. Lingering pain is stressful
Hugs, Jerrie-FL

Harriet, pray that your Dr. visit in two weeks shows improvement and you don't have to have another MRI, plus your movement improves.

Was gonna take my grandson to see Walking with Dinosaurs next Wednesday and the show was canceled.  No reason, just got an email saying my charge would be credited.  I was looking forward to the show too.

I have a Dentist appointment at 9:00 a.m.  I need to get busy and get ready, but wanted to just say hi.  Also,  an infection and am on antibiotics.  Sure hope the medicine clears it up and doesn't interfere with my weekend plans.

It's been cool here the last few days, even turned the furnace on yesterday morning to knock the chill off.  That's just the way it is in the South, 47 then 87 in the same day!  One of the local hardware stores has those outdoor fireplaces on sale.  I mentioned it to Jerry and of course he doesn't want one, but I do.  Would love to have one and roast marshmellows and seat out on the patio.  Maybeeeeee.

Tim McGraw is coming to Charlotte in July and I got tickets.  Pretty good seats, not as close as we get with AJ's fan club, but not bad.  Wish I was able to go see Alan in Charleston on the 22nd.  Those of you going, enjoy.

I'm going to the BMW pro-am celebrity tomorrow.  Kurt Russell, Jerry Rice, Samuel Jackson to name a few.  I went a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.  Elaine, it was sad to see Tiger leave the tournament Sunday.

I'm off to the dentist.  Have a good Wednesday!

Sharon,

You sound like me. I wanted to add a back Kitchen or place to cookout on our house. Hubby didn't, but I love the idea of a fireplace too because living in Florida, we didn't get one in our house. It's warm so much.
Elaine I hated to see Tiger leave the TPC here too , being here in Jax it was covered locally more most likely. I hope he can comeback strong later!
Sharon it's even been cooler here in the AM (JAX)a few mornings and lower in daytime, but looks like we are getting hotter days ahead. The humidity really does my asthma in..allergy  etc... You sure have a positive attituge going to dentist sharon!  I hate even having mine cleaned LOL
Sorry, I didn't know Harriet had already had an mri.. but it's the quickest way to know exactly the problem.

Take care, my son is still saying all the money for cleanup seems to ne going to Nashville, downtown and much help is needed  in his area. The news should ne out there, the people are hanging in by helping one another but they are exhausted and need more help..The News most likely didn't venture out of downtown and are not getting the whole picture of overall damage.. It's bad in near cool Springs in areas and Spring hill too. it's like one neighhood can be fine and in tha same neighborhood damage. They really need help there. I posted about Nashville Rising as  it out in areas like this that need help and Tim and Faith and many , many huge Singers are to support this..byo the concert.. It will go to this area where schools were damaged etc..So much left to do in those areas & it takes time.My DIL says this is difficult to work and manage children etc.. just the regular baths etc...food.. we sent them a gift to just get out for a while and relax, they are stresed to the max..trying to help others too.

a shame the news covers a star who has a cat up a tree but this is a Historical Flood and they do not cover all areas..I wrote CNN , hope it helps.. Fox is usually all over anything they can use..
but not this..too inconvenient perhaps..This is the latest I get from my son & family..Fema is slow to help except downtown also. It would be nice to have the President drop by or Vice President.Even if Nashville is mostly Republican, relatives of these people in the flood could be Democrats and support them.. Need More National news out!

FRIENDS, THO MOST OF YOU DIDN'T KNOW I WAS GONE...I AM BACK FROM THE FROZEN TUNDRA OF SOUTH DAKOTA...IN MAY.  THE RECEPTION FROM LOVED ONES WAS WARM AND JOYFUL, AND SEEING MY BELOVED GRANDSON WILL GRADUATE WITH HONORS FROM THE UNIVERSITY, WAS A TOTAL THRILL  BUT...I HAVE RARELY, IF EVER, BEEN SO CHILLED (MILDLY PUT) IN MY WHOLE LONG LIFE.  NOW, I KNOW I LIVED IN THE UPPER MIDWEST MOST OF MY LIFE, BUT 30 DEGREES IN MAY?Huh  WHEN I LEFT MESA, AZ AIRPORT IT WAS 97 DEGREES...GOT OFF THE PLANE IN SIOUX FALLS, SD, IT WAS 41 DEGREES, BLOWING A GALE, AND RAINING.  I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT RAIN CAN AND DOES FALL HORIZONTLALLY.  IT WAS A STEADY 41 DEGREES, (A HIGH,) AND BLOWING AND RAINING THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS THERE!!!  NOW, I LOVE MY SONS, DAUGHTERS-IN-LAWS, GRANDCHILDREN THERE WITH ALL MY HEART, BUT PEOPLE, DEVOTION ONLY GOES SO FAR!!  SURE, THE COUNTRYSIDE WAS AS GREEN AND BEAUTIFUL AS I HAVE EVER SEEN IT, CROPS ALREADY CROPPING , LILACS IN BLOOM, ETC, ETC.   AND THE POPULATION FULL OF THE BEST AND KINDEST,AND MOST WARMLY DRESSED,  PEOPLE IN THE WORLD.  BUT I RETURNED LAST EVE, AND I AM STILL NOT RE-ACQUANITED WITH FINGERS AND TOES, AND OF COURSE, WE WOULD BE HAVING A COOL SPELL HERE, ONLY IN THE 80'S, SO I SLEPT IN MY WOOLIES AGAIN.  I WON'T EVEN ATTEMPT CONVERSATION UNTILL MY TEETH STOP CHATTERING. BUT IF YOU EVER HEAR OF ME COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DESERT HEAT AGAIN...OR EVEN THINKING OF HEADING NORTH AGAIN EXCEPT FOR THE 30 MINUTES OR SO IN JULY OR AUGUST WHEN IT ACTUALLY CLIMBS IN TO THE NON-FREEZING ZONE...UST SHOOT ME.  OTHER THAN THAT, IT WAS A TOTAL DELIGHT.
