Hi all,
Saddened by the Nashville flooding and especially the loss of life.  Prayers to all in Nashville and especially to Jerrie's son's family.  We got caught in downpours driving to Chicago Friday afternoon and evening.  Scares me thinking what would I have done if I'd been on the road near Nashville.
Here's some good news:  My grandson, Alex James, we all prayed for arrived Sunday afternoon as I was driving home from the Chicago concert.  You have to love those initials---AJ.  I wore my AJ pin to work the next day in honor of my newest little man.  I am so blessed.  He's perfect and weighed a little over 8 pounds.  Life is sweet with a new baby and an AJ concert in the same weekend.
Harriet, glad you are doing better.
Terry, missed you but glad you are getting work.  That's important.
Jean B,  I haven't been following the world news very closely but we have our problems here too.
Elaine,  glad Jess made you a visit.
Sharon, happy anniversary....wow the years go by fast.
Shopped at Cracker Barrel this weekend.  Some good deals on Alan's merchandise.
Miss being on the board, but with packing for the big move and the new little one, my time is very limited.  It seemed odd not to write a review right away but the little guy took over my heart.  There is nothing like snuggling and cuddling with a newborn.
Take care all.
Hugs,  Sue

Kudos Sue for Everything you said.. Sorry but I haven't been online much lately. on the phone to my son etc..
Congrats on your New BB in family Sue!! Love the name too!! Don't get too s stressed packing and a new little one hon..
Oh Sue, it's so sad about Nashville, I'm sure you have seen it all in the news but WSIX Radio has a lot of the news.
My sons problem was mostly his front yard flooding and water coming in front door and the room they had added on, it seeped in.. they are all helping one another out now but rushing water  was scary..neighbors brought them food over and they helped some take ouit newly installed carpets that was wet. My son's rugs all were soaked and had to be dragged out in LR and other rooms.. water was up to the bottom half way of drywall and they had to strip it up to that level to dry out walls. they have industrial fans drying out house now but walls and rugs will have to be redone. it could be worse, they didn't get in the rushing water. I had told them we would wire them the money to stay in the Gaylord w/Babies, thank God they didn't , it's all flooded.. so sad to see the Grand ole Opry flooded, up to the  stage they think.. Our family had our very Best Christmas at the Gaylord a few years back, we took the whole family there and ate at the Cascades that is under water now.a great Memory and we were thinking of going again this year, but doubtful they will have it redone by then..
At least my son's home wasn't under water like some. it was weird like in  Murfreesboro was ok and maybe a bit further was houses under water..I am just glad my Babies are ok and family.. I feel so bad for lives lost and it will be many more most likely as they haven't got to all homes yet.. The National Guard is there now & Red Cross. what was scary, was the storms and rushing water.. neighbors in my son's neighborhood helped one another.Food etc helping others rip carpet out to dry out homes etc.. Hotel were filled and Churches for people to stay..schools were damaged..Thank God the people were smart enough mostly to stay in homes to be rescued, the ones who didn't were taken by rushing water, muddy pulls you under..My DIL said they had a small boat they could have got in, if necessary but they stayed in and  kept house from getting ruined more.had to know the roads to take as some were giving way , so drenched w/water..dangerous.

Sue glad you are safe traveling etc.. so happy for your new little one! Congrats.. Mine are one year now.. the BD's had to be postponed , she had mailed  invitations out. They are managing well under the circumstances.I have been a wreck worrying about my Babies, all of them.. The people have been wonderful helping and bringing in food. She(my DIL) always takes neighbors food etc when ill or whatever, so they have been good to them.. She is one great cook!.They never have experienced this before and she has lived in Nashville all her life. She ran & partly owned the print shop downtown Franklin but sold her part when it closed and moved to another location. She did this when they married.,so glad as it may be under water..
Keep saying prayers for people in Nashville and surrounding areas..Terry so glad you have work and are making it ok.. take care. Harriet  hope you are better & Dizzy.. Elaine though of you being alone at times..good your family stays with you some. So ncie to read about the Concerts earlier.. all of you  be sure and send in your reviews. Marilyn loved your ideas..nice..Got to call my son now.. we are still going for tests with hubby.. it is taking forever, it seems..
Has anyone got their orders from the AJ store recently. I got an Email but haven't seen anything yet..maybe the rain etc mail. It may come from other locations, however..
Some of the Singers are upset about the old BLdgs being ruined.. Dierks Bently canceled his Tour temp..Can't imagine how they must feel. Thank God the Ole RYMAN is high up and they don't think has damage.. some of our favorite places are under water , however..
Take care to all and I'm having to keep in touch w/my family so I wont be on much .. Had to congrat Sue on new one!!
so sweet..Take care all of you and if you have family there, might better call them.. it is so scattered all over..
God bless all those concerned, Jerrie-FL

PS-we have rain too, if FL floods I'm out of here lol
Sue don't work too hard moving etc...Terry too or anyone who has to work..Marilyn you were saying maybe my hubby could retire. and work less. he only owrks a few days weekly now he is retired from Military adn another corp too , now this is his partly owned Gov contract work.. He works very little now & that is good since he is not well yet,. He is being treated for his pancreas but this will be a long time.. he is lucky to be alive..
we have decided to not buy and retire in Nashville ..don't need more water, we have that in FL w/hurricanes. Our Bches may be in this oil juk too...a mess
Sue I just read about your wearing your AJ pin, CUTE ha! Congrats Again!!!
(Marilyn send it in , love it! with maybe a photo too. inserted..)
Sorry can't address Everyone now..Take care! I Hope Alan and Family are fine.. Cindy and Staff too..God Bless!

Hello, Friends. I am sad about what has happened to Nashville, esp the loss of life & of people's homes. And it was a strange feeling to see those aerial views on the news of the whole downtown flooded. I remember walking those streetrs & enjoying it so much. At least The Ryman was spared.
I am on the mend & started cutting my pain pills in half because they make me sick- hopefully this will work. I see the shoulder specialist next Tuesday.

Sue- Congrats on "AJ". I know you are so proud & pleased.

JeanB- So sorry to hear of the problems with your government & hope they can eventually reach a solution. Do you live in the French part of Belgium?

Sharon- A Happy Anniversary to you.

Kathy- Glad you enjoyed the concert so much. I'm predicting you will really enjoy retirement.

Elaine- so glad you got to visit with one of George's school chums.

Jeri- so sorry for your son & the mess at his house. Glad his family is safe.

Terry- Good for you to do this Census work. Not being a morning person either I applaud you for what you are doing.

Hello to Marilyn & AJTexasfan[color]

Another beautiful day here.  We have been so lucky with our weather.

Jeri, glad to hear your family is ok.  Things can be replaced.

Sue, congratulations on your new grandson.  AJ & AJ all in one weekend!  LOL    I thought I saw you at the concert, but I was too far away to do anything about it.    As much as I love those center seats, once you are there you don't want to go traipsing back out again.   I went to the washroom between Josh's & Alan's sets and that was a real chore - plus a 20 minute wait because there was only one on our side of the arena on the first level.  This is an older facility and I don't understand how you could build a public facility like with no thought process.  Women all over are nodding their head in agreement.  LOL

Harriet, glad you can cut your pain meds in half.  Those strong pain pills always affect my stomach - they're great with the real bad pain, but it's nice to wean yourself off of them.  Keep healing!

Terri - good luck with the census.  You're right, it's important work.  Sorry you missed this past weekend, I know Alan was looking for your Good Time signs.

Unfortunately, I have never been to Nashville (it's on my bucket list), but just to imagine all the beautiful places & the history that has been damaged.  I know that everything will be put to rights again.  I feel so sorry the people who have lost their homes & precious memories.
This post is rolling again so I'm stopping.

Hello back to you, Harriet
I hope you continue to improve...

having a migraine today but trying to keep up with Nashville news

I hope the Harpeth River was not a prob. for the Jacksons...
still wondering about that.

I have heard that Faith and Tim will be on their local tv sometime
today...they had damage as well as Kix Brooks...  Everyday a few
more singers are added to the loss list.  Prayers continue...

Like Kenny Chesney said, he can replace his but there are many people hurting in Nashville who can not replace what they lost.....life and or livelihood. Kenny's interview on CNN.  It shows a video of Alan's previous retreat home, the fish camp---now owned by Kenny underwater except for the roof part and flooded Nashville.  Sad to see.

From All About Country:

Nashville Is National News Topic
CNN's Anderson Cooper Broadcasts LIVE From Music City Tonight
Nashville has taken center-stage in the national news this week following the devastating floods in Middle Tennessee where an estimated 20 people how died.

Tonight, CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 will broadcast live from Music City with first-hand coverage of the damage and destruction.

Rumor has it that he will be talking with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, among other country stars. Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen says, "A lot of people who didn't have flood insurance, because they never thought flood waters would ever come anywhere near their home, are really looking at a total loss of their home. It's very tough on a lot of people right now."

Morning All,
We just keep hearing more and more about the flooding in Tennessee.  It took the news media long enough to think it was important.
Thank y'all for the anniversary wishes.  We had a nice anniversary, our son and family took out us to eat at Fatz and it was fun.
I'm reading a good book my dil lent me, Same Kind of different As me, by Ron Hall & Denver Moore.  True story of a homeless drifter and an affluent art dealer.  My dil's pastor gave a copy to each of the elders at their church and after she read it, passed it to me.  I am having a difficult time putting it down.
Hope you're feeling better Marilyn.
Harriet, hope cutting the meds in half works and you continue to mend.  Praying for good report on Tuesday for you.
Jeri, glad that your son's home was spared.  I know you were worried about them.
Terry, good to hear the census job is going well.  Were you really awake going down the hill at 9:00?  I know you may have had your eyes open, but awake?  Hmmmm... LOL!
All attending concerts coming up, enjoy.
Wishing all of you a good weekend......

Good Evening, AJ Friends!

Thanks, Harriet for starting this thread. I apologize to you all for not having posted here until now. I'm doing okay. Handling the loss of my niece a lot better. I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone of you here again, on behalf of my family, for all your comforting words and thoughts and for all the prayers you showered us at the passing of our beloved niece, cousin, granddaughter and sister. And thank you too for all the prayers you bestowed her. We will forever be grateful for this.

Harriet, I've been thinking of and praying for you. I hope the pain in your shoulder would go away soon and no fracture will be found.

Nelle, thanks for the Mothers' Day wishes. Happy Mothers' Day to you too.

Sue, congrats on the arrival of your grandson, AJ. Happy for you and your family.

Jeri and Sharon, thoughts and prayers goes to both your families in TN as they deal with the aftermath of the horrific flooding.

Hello, JeanB, Terry, Elaine, JeanAz and everyone elase I had amiised to mention.

We're headed to my in-laws' house tomorrow morning and surprise them of being there to celebrate Mother's Day with them. Actually, this was a surprise for me too. Out of the blue hubby asked me the other day how I would like to celebrate Mothers' Day with his parents. I was flabbergasted, after all it's a good 8 hours or so to drive all the way to where they live at. But I understood too that he just doesn't me to be in gloom and doom again Mother's Day, missing my niece. So, we'll be there for the weekend and hopefully the weather cooperates with us. Harriet, I'm sure you know what I mean here. Driving in the midst of a storm here, we found out fast, is not such a good idea.

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY TO ALL MOTHERS HERE!!!!!

I have not been on this site for awhile, so I am far behind in all the news.  I have been very busy and not alot of time to get on here. My work has been busy and alot of changes happening there. My planning of our trip to Europe and trying to keep house in order.

Harriet.  I hope you will be feeling better soon.
Sue, Congrats on your new grandson.
To all who are affected by the flooding in Nashville, I hope all are well.  I saw alot of that on the news.
JeanB- for all the troubles in your government.  We have them hear too.
To everyone else - I hope all is well

I am going to try to get on here a little bit more.  I have not been checking on any concert listings of Alan's lately in my area.  Usually we get an email when that happens and I have not received one yet.  When I get back from my trip, then I  will have to check.  I am going to a Johnny Reid concert in November.  I saw him opening for Martina McBride a couple of years ago.  He was fantastic.  I love Alan's new CD-Freight Train.  There are alot of awesome songs on it.  He is still my #1.

Take care all. AM

Welcome back, AM. Sounds like you hav a lot going on.

BHR- Wishing you a safe trip & enjoy Mother's Day.

Nelle- I am dealing with this injury the best I can but I really wonder if I haven't reached a point, healthwise, where I should stop going to those outdoor concerts. On the arenas we can park close at one of them & ride the subway train right into the other one.

Sharon- glad your anniversary was so nice. I can take half a pill some of the time but there are times I have to take a whole one.

Kathy- I hear you're getting the rain now. Read an article about the Cubs' new president & how he wants to win.

Marilyn- Saw the report by Anderson Cooper on the Nashville floods. Glad he did that.I like the title- Nashville Rising.

Our weather here is beautiful. I'm hanging in there with the shoulder. I think the CMT building was affected by the floods as it is right downtown- which explains why we can't vote on some sites & some programs are being repeated this weekend, like Top 20. Prayers going out for Nashville. Heard the death toll is now 31 in Tennessee..

Elaine- They say they will be ready for Fan Fair.

Sue- It is really sad to see what has happened in Nashville. I love that place.

Happy Mother's Day to All.

It has turned really cool and it's been raining.   What a difference from what we've been having.

I'm downloading my concert pics from last weekend, but it takes awhile.  I didn't take as many as I have before - sometimes I just want to stand there and watch Alan and not worry about getting the perfect shot.  I get so involved with him I forget to take the picture.   Should be ready later.

Just want to say Happy Mother's Day to everyone!
