Greetings to all of you. The rain has gone & now it is very cold & windy- up to 30 MPH. But not complaining. We are not snowed in like a lot of peope in this country.

Jean-AZ-Looking forward to baseball. In a week the pitchers & catchers report for Spring Training. This is Bobby Cox's last year with the Braves as  manager. He will continue to serve in an advisory capacity. And what a great manager he has been. I don't know who's gonna fill those shoes.

JeanB- Now that you mention it I do remember that about Roger. Is Kevin going to the Olympics?

BHR-Glad your Sil got by with a stent instead of full blown bypass surgery.

Kathy- Hope you feel better. I hear Chicago is snowed in.

Jeri-I developed a sore toe where I cut the nail off too short so it will have to heal then I can exercise again.

Sharon- Sure sounds nice to have a new kitchen.

Elaine- Hope you will get some sun.

I am beyond excited about the Oylmpics & will be watching.

Elaine, congrats to Kelsey. I didn't know she's playing basketball as well?

Harriet, yes Kevin is going to the Olympics. I have some doubs about his curs and shape.
Do you know the Figure Skating schedules ?

Kathy; that damned groundhog !!! ... wake up lazy beast !!! lol. Thank goodness there is Alan and sports.

Jeri, my wife eyes are healing verry well. You don't have to be scary , it's not surgery ... only a complete painless laser correction. No cutting at all. You only need a good eye-specialist who know his job.

Sharon, congrats with your new kitchen. We have a dishwasher too. I always said to my wife that it's wasted money.
I'm still remodeling. This week i was painting all the inside doors.

As i said my wife eyes are fine. She's overjoyed with the result. One thing ... she hate sleeping with the swim gogle . haha. A few nights more and she can sleep without .
Today we've got a lot of snow. Forecast for tomorow: more snow.

Have a nice day folks,
Jean

Well, it's been an exciting couple of days here in the Midwest.  Starting Tuesday night and 36 hrs later, we ended up with 14 inches of snow.  Slow, but steady.  The roads were a mess, but I made it to work & back.  I certainly didn't enjoy the drive though.   Then, this morning around 4am there was an earthquake centered about 90 miles west of Chicago - 4.3 on the scale.  No damage & no one was hurt, but it was felt in 7 states.  We felt it here in SE Wisconsin.  Just a little something to add more excitement to our lives!  LOL  Everyone was talking about this morning at work - some people slept right through it.  It was certainly all the talk on the local radio stations.

Hope everyone is doing well!

My boss said that he felt the earthquake here in SW Michigan.  We got that snow too, schools were closed on Wednesday, but the sun was out and it turned out to be not as bad as expected.  Mainly just some overcast.  Leslie

Jean Kelsey loves all sports.Along with her
volleyball she plays basketball and soccer.
She does well at all three sports.Volley ball
means the most to her.Glad your wife eyes
are doing well.
Kathy happy to see the earthquake didn't do
any damage.
Leslie glad the snow wasn't to bad where
you live.
Kelsey school had a scare yesterday.someone
tired to kidnap one of the grade 12 girls. She was
so lucky she got away.Teresa girls schools are
within walking distance but Teresa doesn't allow
them to walk to school .I can see why with all those
crazy people out there.

Hello everyone,

I know I've been MIA for a while now.  I try to read the board everyday though.  My shoulder is almost back to normal but I have to be careful how I use it.  I am still dealing with ear issues.  The next semester starts Monday and I'm having a lot of trouble getting the classes I need.  Sara finally has everything in order for her nursing program.  Hopefully the baby won't come early since the semester ends mid June and she is due the first week of July.

We've had tons of rain, which we desperately needed, some snow, and cold weather but nothing like a lot of the rest of the country.  I feel for those in the areas with snow and ice.

Work has not been good but I start with the census next week, so that will help for awhile.  I also applied for my SS.  Tax season will keep me busy for a couple weeks but I need to get everyone's done before starting with the census.  This time the local census office is about 2 hours away.  (don't know how they can say that's local...lol) But my training is only about 6 miles from home.  Hubby is still out of work except for a few days here and there and doing some work for people here at his shop at home.  He had to fix my suburban last week.  It had a cracked head but he was able to get a good one from a friend at a very reasonable price.  Yesterday the fuel pump went out in it so I'm without a car today and probably tomorrow.  The company his brother works for up in Washington, wants to hire hubby to pick up trucks around the country.  They buy used trucks from everywhere and he would fly to where the truck is, drive it to Washington, and fly home.  Right now they have two in FL, and one in AZ to be picked up.

Sure looking forward to seeing the new tour schedule, hope it comes out soon.  I have a few free flights, hotel rooms, and car rentals so I will be able to do a few trips this year.  Can't wait for the new CD either.

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe and my thoughts and prayer for those that need them.  Have a great Valentines Day.

Elaine, how scarry for the girls, glad it worked out for them.

Terry, glad to see you back, best of luck with the next semester. My daughter was in a similar situation as Sara, and it all worked out well, will be praying for her.  Hope you can get rolling soon.  Sounds like a good deal for your hubby for now.

Nelle, please get well, get lots of rest, and thanks for the wishes.  Prayers for you too.

I'm sure we are all looking forward to the new tour, just as the new CD.  Hope we will all be able to catch one or two shows this year, maybe even meet up somewhere.

Along with Nelle, I wish all of you a Happy Valentine's Day.  Leslie

Just to clarify something, hubby isn't back to work, the company just wants to hire him but unless they offer to pay him enough to be away from home that long he can't take it.

My suburban is still down, they ordered a special fuel pump since it's gone out before and since it's in the tank, hubby and son don't want to have to do it again for a long time.  Of course I just put gas in it before the fuel pump went out..lol

Hope everyone has a fantastic Valentine's Day weekend.

Hugs to all,

The snow has arrived in the South & here in Maeirtta, GA it has been snowing at a pretty good clip & sticking for about 3 hours. It's still coming down. I am also under the weather - literally,lol- with a head cold.

Terry- I'm so glad to see you posting. Hope you get your car back & hope the schedule works out for Sara. I have been checking the concert scedule hoping for an Atlanta date.
I'm going to see George Srait, Reba & Lee Ann Womack on the 25th of this month & planning to see Toby Keith with Trace Adkins Sept 2. But I really am in Alan withdrawal- haven't seen him since 2008.

Elaine- Kelsey seems like a very good all round athlete.

Nelle- You & I need to both get well. Prayers for you going up that you will feel better.

Kathy- 14 inches of snow & an earthquake! You have an eventful life in Chicagoland.

Hi AJTexasfan & Leslie.

JeanB- sent you a link for the schedule of the Olympics. Glad your wife is doing well.

This cold will not temper my excitement about the Vancouver Olympics. Opening Ceremonies tonight & they will be indoors- the first time ever for an Olympics.

Watching the Opening Ceremony now.  It's always exciting - looking forward to the competition.  My prayers to the family of the young man who was killed this morning.  Very sad.

It's been sunny here & cold.  The snow will be here for awhile-it'll take lots of warmer weather to get rid of it.

Three day weekend for me.  We have Monday off for President's Day.  Our company has never had this as a holiday, but it works out this year with some of the other holidays being on the weekend.  I'm not complaining - it's usually Jan to May before we have a holiday off.

Terry, glad to see you posting again.  Good luck to you & your husband on the job front and with your car.

Watching that concert schedule - really hoping for an AJ concert this year.  It's been a couple of years for me too.  The new CD will help, but there is nothing like the real thing.
