Thanks Gayle and Harriet for your wishes. I see Betty's birthday is the same day as mine. I told my husband if he doesn't know what to do for my birthday, he could always surprise me with inviting Alan (and Denise) over for dinner. He just gives me the look..... Yeah if that would ever happen. Nothing wrong in dreaming.

Thanks for your wishes Dizzy and Kimberly. It was a great birthday. The movie Blind Side was excellent. I had alot of friends phone and drop by.
Kimberly - I was thinking that you got up early to write your comment. But then I noticed you are from Holland. I am planning on going there in the late spring or early summer. All my relatives live there. Most of them live in the North Brabant area. Are you from that area or near Amsterdam?

I'm from Amersfoort near Utrecht, it's about 45 minutes from Amsterdam..
it's nice that you're planning on coming here, are you originally from Holland and do you speak Dutch?
Brabant is in the Southern part of the country, the people there are very friendly and I love their accent!!!

My parents were originally from Holland. All my relatives live all over Holland. I have 62 cousins. I keep in touch with a few cousins on both my mother and father's side. I can speak and write very little Dutch, but I can read and understand it very well. I did take a Dutch course last year. But if you are not using it alot, you do forget it. What is nice is my cousins are pretty good in English. It is my aunts and uncles that I would have to speak to. My sister is very good in speaking it. When she went to Holland last year with her two daughters, they all commented on how well she could speak it. It was nice when my mom and dad were alive because we could practice with them. I am looking forward to coming to Holland. The last time I was there was in the summer of 1967 for six weeks. It is long overdue.
