Our American flag: Fly it high and fly it proud! Several years ago, when on a 4th of July event with a teeshirt with symbol of American flag, a soldier politely approached me and said, ma'am, I know you likely mean no disrespect to our flag, but you should never wear an image of our flag as a fashion or adornment. He told me to check on the internet and I did.
Yikes! This was life changing for me! It was explained to me by this soldier via his examples of, say a red shirt, white tank, blue pants, are not disrespectful, they are merely the colors of the flag. However, one you get into the stripes and stars , that is the disrespectful turf.
