Looks like a nice album - Alan is on a track as well as Zac Brown and others.    It's getting good reviews.   My copy's in the mail.   Looking forward to hearing it.

John Fogerty was the frontman for Creedence Clearwater Revival back in the day.

I just bought my copy of this album today and have just listened to it. First off, kudos to John Fogerty for the well put together mix of refreshing new voices to the some of the fave Credence Clearwater Revival songs. Though, of course, the originals are still the best, the songs in "Wrote A Song For Everyone" album  sounded almost like they're new. Although I've been a country music fan for many years, before my introduction to country music, I listened to any music that I find enjoyment in listening to. . .from the golden oldies, to the Beatles and many others. Then there was the CCR whose songs I never got tired of and still enjoy listening to. I recommend this album to anyone who would want to give it a listen.

I was pleasantly surprised as to how well Alan sang "Have You Ever Seen The Rain" with John. I mean, I thought that "Proud Mary" would be more in his voice range and "HYESTR" will be a little bit too high for him to sing. But Alan did it very well and I love hearing him sing it. I can't get it out of my head now. LOL! Job well done, Alan!

BHR

BHR, I was a Forgerty Fan , back in the day lol. I think most young people listen to what is popular at the time.
I was a Huge ELVIS ( livin' in MS), also a Beatles Fan too ha! Loved "Imagine". Paul was my favorite, so cute.I love Country Music and we always listened to the Grand Ole Opry on TV, on Saturday night. Actually they put on feed shows for the farmers & played good ole Country music. I think it was sponsered by Martha White..then LIVE. loved it.Now I'm a huge Alan Jackson Fan lol(well, actually I've lost down to 130's being sick LOL)
Love the one Alan did, and I got mine from I-Tunes, until I buy the Album.."Have You Ever Seen The Rain" was one of my favorites back when. Alan w/John does it so well. Artists Love their Music and I'm sure they were both in awe of the outcome..Let's face it Alan can sing ANYTHING and make it his own..sound..Good Night for now, Jerrie

I'm an old Senior but don't remember John Fogerty so am not going to invest in the album.  I enjoy hearing all your comments on it.  I dearly love Alan and would always make my best handicapped effort to attend his concerts.  Just did one on February 7, 2013 at The Palace of Auburn Hills in MI and they printed my review in the latest Newsletter.  I am still riding on cloud 9.

I've been trying to log in to tell you what I think about this album - but I've been having problems.

Anyway, I like this album more than I thought I would.   Naturally, I knew I'd like Alan's track since he can sing just about anything.   It's just that I don't normally like covers of other's doing an original artist's work.  I was surprised I even liked Kid Rock's track.

This album is a bit different in that it has the guest artist singing along with Fogerty so I think that makes the difference; for me anyway.

All in all, a nice album with a good assortment of guest artists.   I give it a B.

Just my 2 cents.

I grew up country, some Elvis and knew of Mr. Fogerty but not much.    Love Alan's song and will buy it from iTunes, probably will not buy the CD.   A week ago our local newspaper had the Sunday Parade magazine in it with an interview with Mr. Fogerty's newly released CD.  They asked him who he did not think would do a song and he said Alan Jackson.
He went on to say that he has been a fan of Alan's since 1989 and has all of Alan's CD's.   When Alan agreed John almost fell to the floor.     Always our gracious guy, Alan.      Great job, Alan.

Most of you probably remember that last year, Bob Dylan released the Lost Notebook of Hank Williams, Sr.   This new Fogerty album reminded me of this one.  Here's some info on it.

http://blogs.tennessean.com/tunein/2011/08/04/bob-dylan-alan-jackson-jack-white-and-more-interpret-unfinished-hank-williams-songs/

Dylan handpicked Alan to sing the first track on the album.  Other guest artists performed unfinished Hank Williams tunes, too.  As usual, AJ nailed it.     If you still haven't heard it you should give it a spin, too - well, at least Alan's contribution.   It's another nice cover album.  Alan was born to sing these types of songs.

Bob Dylan I'm sure knew of Alan's admiration for the work of Hank Williams Sr. Alan  was Great in this
track of The Lost Notebook of Hank Williams Sr.

I heard Alan do a Song at the Bridgestone Arena, Nashville in Tribute to Hank Williams Sr with his photo in back of the band on a huge screen. I think Alan is a genius at doing work for Anything that represents Great Country Music!

I really love this one with John Fogerty and Alan. I got it right away on I-Tunes & wrote a Review.

Bob Dylan's a big Alan Jackson fan.  He's a big country fan in general but really likes Alan a lot.
