I was lucky to attend my 2nd AJ show in Lowell, Massachusetts last night.  I'm a new fan.

I've attended more live music shows than anyone I've know - rock and roll, folk, country, blues - every genre of music, really.

I was really struck by the audience at last night's show. I sat between a young couple who were in their 20s - not sure if they were dating or married - and a woman who was in her 70s who attended with her daughter (who looked to be in her early 50s).  Young children attended with their parents.  I was in the 5th row, right in front of the microphone.  All of the people who went to stand in front of the stage all seemed to be very enthusiastic fans in their 20s and 30s.   There were Hispanic people, African Americans - people from every walk of life, really.   It's pretty amazing the widespread appeal AJ has to all different kinds of people - it's very different from any other live music show I've attended.  Says alot about the quality of his music - it crosses all ages and races - and from the reactions I heard from the crowd everyone loves him.

The first time I saw AJ live (a few weeks ago in Springfield, MA), it wasn't as apparent because his show took place at a very big country fair.  I just assumed it was a fair crowd.  Boy, was I wrong.

I totally agree. The audience last night in Lowell was extremely enthusiastic! Last night was my first Alan Jackson concert and I absolutely loved it! The best part for me besides seeing Alan and hearing his music live I actually live next door to the Tsongas Center, no parking worries and wondering how long it would take to get home!

Bostonhonkytonk,

Welcome to Alan fandom. I am a 23 year veteran fan of Alan. I love how you expressed your observations of the crowd at his concert. It says a lot about Alan's appeal and legacy.

Nice Comment!
I agree. i have been to so many of Alan's Concerts over the Years and His Fans are also the Best! I have never had one bad experience at his concerts. Love his "Tear Jerkers" best! Also I really love his way of performing "The Blues Man."
Alan's concerts brings Up his audience and Alan's Voice leaves me and I'm sure others, wanting more, more!

He is to me of all Concerts I've attended, the BEST Country Music Singer over All. Alan's charisma is a huge draw.
Alan Just keeps getting better w/Age. He and The StrayHorns are just real Country at It's Best!
Thanks Alan for Years of Great Music! It truely ministers to our souls-The Fun Songs are Great too!

I attended with 2 friends but they had separate seats.  I had the best time with the people who were in adjoining seats to mine - very friendly and BIG fans of AJ.  The guy sitting next to me with his gf thought we were nuts - she and I would scream after each song.   She also caught one of his guitar picks.   We really had a great time.

He did an extended autograph thing during the encore - he signed cowboy hats, shirts, boots, pieces of paper, purses - anything the crowd offered to him.  He tried to do as many as he could and kept she show going.  I can tell he really likes & appreciates his fans & they love him in return.

I'm sure this will only be the 2nd of a lot more shows to come for me. Can't wait to go to more.

The last show I attended was his Good Time tour. You are so right about the crowd. I was about 16 rows back on the right hand side I'm sure the people around me probably thought I was crazy because I couldn't sit still that was before he came on the stage. It got worse when he came out. I belted out every tune and the people around me were so nice and understanding of my excitement. I'm going to 3rd AJ concert tomorrow! Needless to say I won't sleep tonight or get much done at work tomorrow!
