"ABC Country's Night to Rock", ,,, Please,,,,,, Excuse ME, it was mostly POP.... MORE Country is what I was waiting for.

Alan made me proud as a Fan. I had to watch the whole show to see at the END, Alan Jackson w/real Country. He did "Dixie Highway" and he was his Best! He looked GREAT and Sounded even better.Naturally I like Brad Paisley and Hank
Williams Jr & even Rascal Flatts and Blake. Martinia's Song was Touching.I may have missed a few I liked..Miranda, Faith  etc..

Alan Jackson sounded like real Country and He was worth waiting until the end for! hint ,hint,He should have been given TWO Songs to sing, My opinion. I was hoping for that.

I missed seeing Mark with the Band but Monty, and the other regulars were Great to see! Like the new Guy fine, however.
Great Job Alan and Keep on Keeping on, with your Great COUNTRY MUSIC!
REAL COUNTRY MUSIC.
Congrats to all of those who got to sing,,,,I was brought up to appreciate ALL music but "Don't Say Country , if It's Not!"

Love My Alan Jackson,As a Fan I Always will. God Bless You Alan and The StrayHorns, Jerrie from MS

PS- Alan looks better on TV in solid color shirts , those beige or black ones. Love those pretty ones done with souche
in flowers. PLAID is Not Alan's Look for TV... they are popular , however.Let's face it, we would love Alan in a flour sack lol

Jeri, thanks for the review of the CMA Music Festival special on ABC last night. While more than likely than not that I'm in agreement with you on your sentiment about the kind of country music being recorded and performed out there of late, nonetheless, I was a bit upset that our local ABC affiliate deemed it more important to show the Monday Night Football instead all in the account of the Atlanta Falcon, one of Georgia's local sports team, was playing against the Denver Broncos. Nevermind that ESPN and another tv station were already showing it too. So I missed watching Alan's performance at the show. They're airing the special on Sunday and in the afternoon rather than in the evening when most viewers will be more likely be able to watch it than not. . .I suppose they can just set their DVRs, Tivos, or VCRs and watch it later, which, to me, is unsatisfactory. Here are the emails I sent them yesterday afternoon, after I found out their change of programming, and the response I received back:

Why was the ABC scheduled airing of "CMA Music Festival" special tonight moved to Sunday in your station? The Falcon/Broncos game is airing already on ESPN and one other tv station. Don't you all think you'll get as much, if not more viewers if you air the "CMA Music Festival" special? And isn't this called hogging the airwaves here for the sports fans of local teams here in GA? And don't you think country music fans here in GA are looking forward to watching the "CMA Music Festival" special tonight more than they do the football game and you want us all to wait until Sunday to watch it? CM fans nationwide will be talking about it already and we, the fans here in GA, are still waiting to see it and miss out on all the excitement as it is broadcasted everywhere else and by the time it's broadcasted here in GA it's already old news. Shame on you all!

Response:

Thank you for writing to us regarding the CMA Music Fest.  We are sorry that you have been disappointed in tonight’s programming.  WSB-TV had the opportunity to air the Falcons / Broncos game tonight from 8:00-11:30pm.  It’s the local team, it’s in Atlanta and the game has a lot of local interest, making it perfect programming for our station.  We hope you will be able to catch and enjoy the CMA Music Fest Sunday, September 23 at 12:30pm.

We thank you for viewing Channel 2 WSB-TV and www.wsbtv.com.

Please pardon my rant here, but, I am really just miffed over this. Glad to hear Alan did the "Dixie Highway" song. I guess they saved THE VERY BEST for the last. :-) Thanks, again, for the review, Jeri and you take care. HUGS.
