Can't believe it is already August and we have only
had about two weeks of hot weather. Talked
to harriet's hubby she is doing well and should be
home in a couple of days.

Elaine, thanks for starting the August thread.  Time is flying - sure wish some of this hot weather would fly away.  It has been nothing but HOT all summer!  I'm really tired of AC, but I just can't tolerate the really hot weather.

Glad to hear about Harriet - sure have missed her on the board.  Glad she is doing better.

Have really enjoyed watching the Olympics.  Congrats to the US girls gymnastics team - they were great!

Thanks, Elaine, for starting this month's thread and continued prayers for your son and you. Thank you also for updating us all about Harriet. I have been actually waiting for her husband to update me but have not heard anything from him yet. Thanks, again.

Harriet, get well very soon! You've been in my thoughts and prayers. It's good to hear that you'll be back home from the hospital soon. So sorry that you had to be hospitalized yet again. Miss you here.

JeanB, have a very safe travel and enjoy your vacation. Do let us all know how it goes.

Kathy, I'm with you on the AC. It's just so hot also and sometimes too humid as well where we're at.

Jeri, it's so good to see you posting from time to time. Continued prayers for a full recovery for you too. Thanks for the photo link you posted in the birthday greetings thread for Dizzy and Mazie. All you three ladies look very charming, lovely and photogenic.

Take care everyone!

Elaine, I can't believe it is August and we have had nothing but HOT weather.
Our a/c runs almost 24/7, and the electric bill we received shows how much it runs. Yikes...
Thank God for an a/c though, feel sorry for people who don't have one.

I sent prayers for you and your son too, and also to Harriet and anyone else who is sick.

Jean, have a wonderful and safe trip.

Hello everyone,

Yes the summer is half over but I am glad as it is HOT here in Ontario.  A/C runs continually.  Where are you at Elaine that you don't have the heat?  Lucky you I say.  Terrible news of Alan's illness.  I said we could pretend we are nurses and get him all better lol.  I have to have injections in my eyes.  I had laser surgury but there is still some leakage.  Being diabetic will do it.  Anyone ever hear of a needle in the eyes?  I start Sept 15 and must go once per month every month.  WOO HOO....NOT!!!!

Saying prayers for all who are not well also and those poor souls in Colorado.  A terrible shame.  Not even safe at a movie theatre.

Take care and try to keep cool!

Thannk you all for the prayers. Todds goes on
the 20 for his surgery. I will be so glad when it
is over with. Been a tough haul for him. They don't
know if it was the radiation or what caused his blood
sugar to go so high. He is now taking insulin. He is
producing inslin they just don't know why it is not
going where it should. Todd has had to learn a lot
about diabetes.
Jeri Todd has no pain thank goodness.

nothing gets done around my house. Only one more week
then I can back to it.
Jean have a fun time on your vacation.
BHR I have not heard anymore about Harriet. Will phone
again in the middle of this week.
Dot I wish I could send you some of the rain we have had.
Gwen I live in Vernon B.C. It is in the valley. My girlfriend

her very much.

Elaine, thanks for starting the August thread.
Thinking of your son's upcoming surgery.
Will be glad to hear when Harriet is home and well.  She has been on my heart for weeks.
How have you been doing Jeri?
I hadn't checked the AJ website for a week or two and was glad they had the August calendar up.  Always good to see the tall blonde guy on my computer screen first thing.
JeanB, enjoy France.  Sounds wonderful.
Suzanne, good to hear you enjoyed Texas.  How's the weather over in Switzerland?
Gwen, I had never heard of the shots in your eyes.  Thinking of you also with your upcoming series of shots.
I'm another who has enjoyed the Olympics.  It was a great volleyball match between our two U.S. teams last night.  Misty May/Kelsey are remarkable. (I hope I got the names right! lol)
Y'all have a great Thursday.

Hello Everyone!
Elaine I hope all goes well w/the surgery for your son. I hope everyone is doing well.Harriet I hope is doing well also.

I had to get on and post that after having watched the Olympics, then came the politics and news etc, but since everyone is getting really tired it seems, of the candidates, to put people in a better mood of what America represents
they played at 4:45 est today Alan's "Remember When" on Fox. It showed a nice Video but not Alan's , but it was about family and our Values. I love that song and Alan sounded so great. Sure was a nice break from regular TV!

Sharon, I enjoy some of the Olympics, today the swimmers, but I love it when they get their medals & the Flag comes up, It always gets to me. They have worked so hard to get there and trained, it's always touching to me.
Take care everyone, Jerrie

Hope everyone is doing ok.  I feel asleep watching t.v. and now at 11:30 p.m. I'm wide awake.

It was cooler this morning and the sunrise is a little later.  Getting ready for the time change in a few weeks.

That was nice about the Fox network playing "Remember when" Jeri.

Just wanted to say hi! Thanks Cindi for keeping this website going.

Hi everyone !

The time is running...
I'm very busy at work and at home.
On Friday and on Saturday I'll work at a bar with barbecue in front of our store.
We have a big party in the city, that takes place every year. Thousends of peoples come and it will be very hot this weekend, about 36 degrees ( like in Texas ! ) So the peoples will drink a lot !
Before 4 o'clock in the morning I'll not come to bed.
But I have a lot of fun to work there.

You all dear AJ Fans have a great weekend ! Take care everyone.

Greetings from Switzerland

Started my post and got kicked out of the Internet, so here I go again.
The weather has been wonderful, temps in the 70's & we got some nice rain for a couple of days this week.   This is when it is usually the hottest around here, but now we are setting record lows.  Strange summer, after a strange winter.
Looking forward to my sister's (from California) visit in a couple of weeks.  It will be so much fun!  Wish we lived closer.
Not going to see Alan again this year - he'll be a couple hours away from me, but all my concert pals have moved away & I'm not one to go by myself.  Please keep up the reviews - I enjoy them so much!
