Hello from Nashville.  Did a little running around today, got a box to send my hat home and some of the other goodies I've purchased here.  Don't want to deal with the hat on planes, etc.  There's a Staples in the shopping center across the street so I'll take it over there tomorrow before driving back down to Birmingham.  Sure happy the weather has been clear so far this trip.

Sharon, congrats on getting your roof and kitchen done, that will be wonderful for you.  Good luck on cooking for all those people.  Sorry your grandson lost his game.

Harriet, thanks.  Hope you're feeling better and that the lung specialist can help.

Jean, you're right, if I hadn't gone to CB I'd have a lot more money in my pocket...LOL

Elaine, is it about the right time for temps to be so low for you?  Stay warm!!

I was watching Fox news last night and the segment about Alan being at the CB. Dot and I were right behind the reporter (sure glad they didn't show that too long...LOL)  We were yacking away about something.

Good Morning Everyone..
It's cold in sunny Florida This AM.. we just got back from our trip to NYC. Had a wonderful time, saw the Vermeer Exhibit at the "Met"Stayed in the grand Excelsior Hotel, newly redone, it was super nice.. two suites since we took my grand Teens. we had a ball, it was funny since my Teens wanted to go to Broadway to see Stars, they thought, and they saw them ok. "The Naked Cowboy" lol it was so funny..My daughter wanted to hide him but they laughed & laughed. She said he looked a bit like Alan Jackson just teasing me LOL. we had a ball & I came home with a terrible cold due to fast temperture changes.

My Bil called and Mom is worse, so now we go there. she may not last long. hated for this day to come, but I ask for your prayers
during this time . I just hope she wont suffer having cancer..she may not recognize us but we have to go make sure all is being done that can be. My sis is already there & has been. Take care to all of you & stay well. I wont be posting for a while but Terry your photo was nice at Cracker Barrel and so glad all of you got to go there & be with Alan, I would have had we not have to get ready to go to moms.I want to definitely buy a lot of things, it al;l looks so nice. would loved to have seen Alan again, Carla I know how you feel when you meet Alan after so many years of admiration.. Love his work & meeting him is heaven, so happy for you!

Jeri-My thoughts & prayers are with you, your mother & your family.

Terry- that was a good idea to mail your hat home. Have a great time this weekend.

Sharon- We were hoping to get a trip to Pigeon Forge in this Fall but we'll just have to wait & see what the state of my health is. We might have to put it off til Spring. Glad to hear the rock slide is not in that area.

Elaine- Glad to hear it's not as cold for you as it was.

When I called the lung specialist for an appointment they said they can't see me til Dec 14. At least I have an appointment with my regualr doctor next Tuesday & can get another
chest x-ray.
Love to All.

Hi from Baton Rouge, LA

The drive down to Birmingham was nice and uneventful.  I did a couple side trips and had plenty of time before my flight.  Arrived in New Orleans a little after 6 and made the drive up here.  Not too sure about this area, it was dark when I arrived and there's a cop car stationed in front of the hotel.  Just hanging out and relaxing tonight.  Congrats to the Yankees for winning the world series tonight.  Talked to hubby last night and he and our son started to run a new electric line (stronger one) out to his big garage which is quite a ways and it turned into a big project.  Talked to our son tonight and they got it done today.

Jeri, your mother is in my prayers.  It's so hard to see a parent age.  Be thankful she has had a long and happy life.

Elaine, Hope you're doing ok and it doesn't get too cold too soon.

Betty, yep, you'll just have to leave Walter at home...LOL  He's a lot of fun though.  You're lucky he likes to at least travel with you even if he doesn't go to the concerts.

Harriet, are you feeling better?  At least now you have an appointment with the specialist.

Take care everyone and have a great day tomorrow.  I'll go over to the venue in the morning just to see where it is and see if I can pick up my ticket.  Bill and Deb will be here from Arkansas for all 4 concerts too.

Jeri, glad you had such a good time in NYC!  What a special treat to be able for all your family to be there.  My prayers for your mother and your family.  It is a stressful time for you and please take care of yourself too.

Entered the contest for the tickets for the pop-up CB in Nashville next week.  So if I win, that means I have to go to Nashville!  LOL!  I can do that, plus who knows, I may win tickets to the CMA, I've entered that contest!

Glad you made it to Baton Rouge, Terry.  How's the weather?  Give my best to Debbie and Bill and Monty.  If you get close enough give Alan a kiss for me!  LOL!  Tell the rest of the group hi too!  Wish I were with you.

Well, my ceiling in the sunroom has been replaced.  Just love that my son felt pity on his mama and wanted to do something for me.  I hope I haven't complained so much they just wanted to stop the squeaking wheel!  LOL!

I think I mentioned my great niece and the complications she had from her childbirth a couple weeks ago.  She is still in ICU, but improving.  This was one time where child birth almost resulted in death.  The twins are beautiful.  Two boys, 6 lbs 13 oz, and 6 lb 7 oz.  These are my great, great nephews from my sister's family.  My sister passed away in 1996 and these would have been her first great grandchildren.  I am now the matriarch of the family!  Thanks so much for your prayers and I know the family appreciates them also.

Company is arriving tomorrow afternoon.  Ham will be in the oven today.  My daughter and grand daughter will not be able to make it.  Just too much going on for them, Nicole is a senior this year and so busy.

Harriet, what way to you travel to Pigeon Forge from Atlanta?  The rock slide is on I-40.  I bet it is gorgeous there this week.  It is here with the fall leaves, and aroma of Fall!  Anyone catch that beautiful full moon this week?  I know when I was coming back from Maryville, I was surprised the leaves hadn't turned much.

Y'all have a good day!

Nelle so far the snow has stayed up in the mountains.
They are cross country skiing. It won't belong and
their will be enough snow for the down hill skiers. The
Olpymic ski team will be here to practice .
Got up early so I could get my house cleaning done.
Want to go watch Kelsey play volley ball.It is not
often that I get a chance to watch her as most of
her tournaments are out of town.

Hello from Lewisville, TX (on my way to Thackerville, OK)  My flight was into Dallas and my flight tomorrow is out of Dallas so I'm staying about an hour south of Thackerville.  Another beautiful day.  I had to get up at 6 this morning but got a cat nap on the plane.  I should sleep well tonight!!

Sharon, my prayers are still with your great niece.  Those are pretty big babies for twins.  They sound healthy.  Have they came home from the hospital yet?  Enjoy your company this weekend.  Good luck with the contest, sure hope you win.

Elaine, enjoy watching Kelsey play volleyball, hope her team wins.

I'm off to the shower to get ready.  Y'all have a nice evening.
