I talked to Danny of the Strayhorns today. I ask about Denise and he said she found a lump but it was not cancer. Thank goodness. Said she was doing good. Anything like this can be so frightening and I pray everything will be OK.

Just saw the Alan Backstory GAC , my husband and I and It was teary for both of us..at the end
What a Career Alan has had, what a Beautiful Life ! Still going strong too!!Be sure to watch this if you can.Amazing..
Prayers Going Up for Denise to remain cancer free, after "Having gone through chemo and radiation."I simply can't talk about it, as my sister just went through the same thing. It's simply too teary for Alan and Family and I want to encourage Denise to Keep The Faith! What a strong survivor!! What a difficult time for the family to go through & one could never tell. I admire them for keeping this private. Praise be to God, Denise is, in her last test, Cancer Free. Hugs & Love to her!
They are very private and to honor them both& Family. I will just say Love and Prayers to Denise for continued good health and Love to the family that was shaken to the core. I'm sure,,,
Alan keep on making Your Great Music and being the Wonderful man you are to your Family and Fans , All those who Love you. God Bless You & Yours, Jerrie-MS

Amazing story and narrated so well with interviews. Chronicled Alan's career well. Jerrie, I was teary eyed at the end. Not sure what kind of cancer Denise had but she did go through chemo and radiation. Brings back vivid memories for me. So glad those days are behind me. Alan was teary eyed when he talked about Denise. With all they have been through, you really saw the love the two have for each other. A wonderful career and a sweet love story all in one.

it was a wonderful show. Such affection for Alan from all the people interviewed. His career has been amazing & so successful! Alan & Denise's love story is beautiful & it brought tears to my eyes when I saw the look on his face when he was talking about Denise's health problems. So glad to hear that she is cancer free now. Can only echo what all of you are saying. It was a wonderful show. I can understand why they kept it under the radar & the public did not find out. There would have been too much drama & publicity from the media.
I will pray that Denise remains cancer free. I am so grateful to her for writing those insipring books. And Alan has had such a banner career. I am so proud of both of them.
And I too had tears in my eyes at the end of the show. Thank you to GAC for airing this program. And to Alan & Denise for being willing to share their story.

I was a bit choked up too last night watching the show. This has been I think the most in depth show I've seen featuring the story of Alan's career and life. It's not hard to see why his fans and people in general loves both Alan and Denise. They don't have to try and hard to be a role model to everyone out there. It comes just very naturally for them. . .honest, genuine and for real.
I, too, am glad to hear that Denise is cancer free now. My continued thoughts and prayers for Alan and Denise and their family as they continue to deal with this new ordeal in their lives.
I don't know yet if GAC have a full video of the show posted on their site for anyone to view, but I found this more detailed article about the show with a video clip for those of you here who don't have access to GAC:

I pray for Denise and Alan and their family every day, even before the Cancer hit them so severely. They are people just like us, and sometimes those privileged suffer more when tragedy hits them. Denise was a huge example to me when she wrote her books and I will never forget her for that. I hope she will write and tell us how she got through this also. Alan must have been devastated knowing that with all his successes he could not help his own loving wife and get her a cure. He had to suffer through it all and inspire the girls also. He has been deserving in show business because of his talent but God has helped all the Jackson family because of their faith and willingness to "turn their eyes upon Jesus". Jesus brought them through one more time. I wish them luck through it all.
When Alan can see himself free, I wish he would look upon another Windsor trip or the Palace of Auburn hills so that I can see him once again. My handicap is nothing compared to what his family has been through but I warm up from my sadnesses when I can go to his concerts. Blessings to the Jackson family and Merry Christmas to all you fans out there who feel like I do.

I pray for Alan, Denise & family & also got choked up watching the GAC show last evening. They are such a sweet, humble couple & that's why we love them so much. I normally don't get GAC in my TV package, but for whatever reason Dish Network allowed me access to the special show. For those who may have missed it, (for whatever reason), may have another shot at it, if I'm reading this correctly. http://www.gactv.com/gac/shows_spl/episode/0,,GAC_26200_80295,00.htmlMERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EACH AND EVERYONE!!!

Oh my goodness. I have not seen the show as am from Canada. I just cannot believe it. I am a breast cancer survivor for 13 years who has had a mascetomy, chemo and radiation so I have been there. I am saying prayers for you Denise and all of your family. Stay positive girl. It is a scarey thing no woman wants to have but sounds like all is well now so wishing you, Alan and the girls a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year!
