They had 10 Artists of the Decade based on Airplay on Radio & Mediabase. Alan was #5. Toby was #1.

Disappointed!
The show was entertaining but as far as a legit award show, it's doubtful! As a fan voted based award show, where only one vote a day was supposedly cast, I believe that some fans found ways around GAC's policy.  Example Taylor Swift who has a HUGE fan base won none, while certain artist grabbed all the awards in the categories that they were in.
The artists of the decade, no female! I don't not which radio stations they were monitoring but the stations I listen to over the past ten years played alot of Reba and Martina!
Best part of the show ALABAMA!!!!

The Artists of the Decade were decided by spins on radio for the last 10 years. It's just a fact.

The fan voted awards went to the most popular or whoever got the most votes. That's why Carrie Underwood won- she has a zillion fans & thy vote consistently. Same with Jason Aldean- He is really hot right now & very popular with the fans.

Actually I enjoyed the show- it was very fan oriented- finally a show for the fans. Sure I wanted Alan & ZBB to win & voted for them every day but other fans just outvoted us.

It is what it is, as they say.

It's logical that younger Fans are going to have younger people voting constantly. i can see it when I vote for Alan.
They have a page long list of votes for Carrie, compared to my one vote locally lol. Dizzy where are you. Vote on WGNE;
