Canada is also a beautiful country. I was unfortunately only once in Vancouver many years ago.
My friends were already often there. The pictures are fantastic.
I would come back gladly.

Hello, friends. Merry Christmas to all. Just fininished decorating my house & finished my cards yesterday. The first thing we did was shop & wrap gifts because our family Christmas Party is Tuesday the 20th. at my sister's house. She is only 2 miles from me so short trip. Her house is always beatifully decorated. One of my brothers is a nurse like me & Tuesday is when he is off. He had to work Thanksgiving. I remeber working all those holidays, weekend & nights. I loved my job but I worked 42 years in hospitals & retired in 2005.
I have been having achy knees for years but recently it got worse & they were buckling on me so I saw an ortho doctor & just as expected it is arthritis. He said I did not need surgery just Cortisone injections & I was so relieved. So did the Cortisone shots & now I'm doing better.
BHR- Thanks so much for the info on gluten free food.I put that Trader Joe's website on my favorites & went to a bigger Kroger & found even more food I can eat. Will also probably order online. My niece who married the soldier has a friend with gluten intolerance & she told me a lot about it. We took her out to eat this week & she will be leaving in January to join her hubby.
Jeri- Also appreciate the info. There is a Trader Joe's in Atlanta.so will check that out.
Chrissy, love the rocking chair. I have had a Boston Rocker for years so did not buy one but got a lot of the other Merchabdise. Thanks to BHR for finding me an Alan Coffee Mug- I use it every morning.
Susi, you have been to more places in the USA than I have & I have been to quite a few. My favorites are the Statue of Liberty, The Grand Canyon- breathtaking- & the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. I also like Seattle's Space Needle & New York's Empire State Building. And I love the Oregon Coast.
Elaine-Maybe some day you will get to see Alaska. Also if you ever plan to go to Nashville again I will do my best to get up there & meet you. I love Nashville.
Getting tired now so will sign off. Hope all you Alan fans are having a great Christmas Season.

I love Nashville too. This year I was twice there. I hoped that I see Alan in the Grand ole Opry.
Then I saw him in Gilford NH. It was great. A dream went into fulfillment !

I haven't posted much here lately - I've been very busy (I'm retired - but have a part time job & the holidays are keeping me going!).

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Harriet, glad you avoided surgery. My husband has to take a shot now & then, arthritis of the shoulder too. Feel better soon for the Holidays! You deserve a break after having worked 42 yrs wow! I think you must have married very young like
us LOL.I haven't worked publicly with him being in the Military, we traveled all I ever want to ha! So nice to see the wives
getting their Thanks for their part also, while the men are gone or working away. I received my award with pride, when my husband retired. Very grateful and when we visited the WALL for Vietnam who died, we had a teary embrace, after I said "I'm so glad your name isn't on there." It really is healing for us, in an unpopular war, during the draft too. I tell all those who serve we meet, thanks now and a few welcome Home!My husband was in Siagon & it was bombed where he was, after he left.He was on flight crew, but anywhere could be danger there.I feel for all those serving now & Thank Them! The scenes of father's returning, we can remember exactly how that feels and have empathy.God Bless them all.
All cards are mailed finally and we will go to Nashville later. Susi you have gone to a lot of places, Like Harriet, I have seen most all states except Alaska.all the places she mentioned .I missed the towers, the last time we were in NY at the Met.
All Staff and Alan Fans , You enjoy your Holidays and we are taking it easy this year and avoiding my Traditional dinner for a smorgosbord LOL.
all Fans I have met, Enjoy and all of you I hope to meet . I have met Dizzy and her Twin, Sue and her daughter, Terry, Louanne and friend, and jinx, briefy but nice. Nelle take care, also Jean/AZ and Jean/b. Just wondering how you celebrate in Belgium! All customs are intresting to me! I usually do the Traditional Southern dinner, but Grand ma needs a change ha!
I got letters from some of our relatives, it takes an hour to read those and all they have done over the year LOL. cards are nice! we are considering printed ones next year, as I always have to put a note inside. Harriet, I forgot I did do a bit
before marriage as a Sunday school teacher, sang in our chior( badly) ha!and Church Secretary for a while. Being a Mom was fulltime for me, I have more time to enjoy my grandchildren! They are so precious and I'm so Thankful for them and I know all of you adore your family also.My heart will always be in MS, my Hometown, but Florida was wonderful with children! Not so much now.Love TN , my son lives near Cool Springs! All Fans and staff, Enjoy and Merry Christmas !

This month is almost over and here I am posting this now. I know that I am not the only one that feels overwhelmed this time of year, but I feel so darn guilty not being able to spend the time here that I would like to. Feeling esp. guilty this month ( I am Catholic, we do guilt to the hilt, lol) Let me make my apology from the heart here over being late with the prayer thread that means so much to me.
My schedule the last few months has me getting home between 8:30 and 9pm and there is so little time to unwind and attend to things in a normal month. Add to it, the holidays, my own obligations in addition to having to work with the public this time of year, has me feeling so inadequate!
God has sent me such a blessing this month. I have a dear friend that is out of work, has been for some time now. This persons computer broke, it was thing that helped him stay connected with the world, his love of music and sharing that, also needed for researching opportunities, etc. I felt helpless, I would have a hard time replacing my own computer! I prayed and followed a strong voice inside of me to reach out and I contacted someone that I know and long story short, my prayer was answered and my friend was sent a computer.
I did not ask for, but was sent tangible evidence of the true spirit of Christmas. I am humbled and so thankful. Will be working on the prayer thread tonight.

That is a beautiful story & illustrates the spirit of giving which is what the season is all about I am close to you- Episcopalian- I know what you mean but would not change.. |

Miramired I have a lot of C. Presbyterian Guilt too ha! I think there was a beautiful story inside and outward of your Faith and I feel an Intercession here. How Wonderful! Faith restored for sure. Hello, Everyone!
Just wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and most Prosperous New Year! Harriet, Sharon, Nelle and Dizzy, thank you for the beautiful cards you all sent my family and I. We all appreciate being thought of by friends this Christmas. We're getting ready for our travel to my hubby's Mom & Dad's house for our annual family Christmas get together. We'll be staying only for a few days and thank heavens for that at I've ben feeling a little under the weather the last couple of days. I just hope I don't get full blown sick while we're there.
Miamired, thanks for sharing your very inspirational story with all of us here. I'm a believer of faith and miracles.
