September 13,2011 Grand Ole Opry House!

Sorry I didn't have time or energy to edit each photo and make it larger, but I wanted you to see these asap.

We saw a Great Show! Alan and George seem to be good Friends and They had a pre-show gala for them, in a Bar and /or Retaurant. George remarked " we don't drink much anymore or go to places like this, but it was nice." same here, unless it's a formal occasion. we mostly do family things now and just enjoy shows like this one, or Concerts w/AJ.

My husband and I sat by the Opry Store Entrance  hoping to see a few Fans. Dizzy & her sweet sister Mazie came by and sat with us outside, until the show. They both as so awesome and especially look great to have been seriously ill recently. I think they have more energy than we do hehe! So great to see Fans who love Alan! Wish I had seen the others, but we missed them somehow. I hope you had a safe trip Dizzy & Mazie and Good Luck for a Meet and Greet @ Macon. You both are lovely Ladies and deserve to Meet Alan after having been a Fan since he first began, very loyal Indeed. My husband enjoyed meeting youall and Hope that you get a M & G also. Youall have flown all over to see Alan!
Alan would be delighted to meet such nice TWINS!  please try & give them a chance in Macon, they will be there!

The Show was Great(not enough Alan as Usual) but overall very good show for Mr. George Jones celebration! Some sent messages to George byo a note, read bythe renowned Eddie Snubbs. We sat in the Mezzanine for the very first time and center row 2 at the Isle seats. we had a view of hanging over the stage, at all the performers.I have a slight fear of heights lol-still do! we were hanging over Alan and I could see Denise walking in , also George Jones and his wife really well. wonder if they could see us,w/the bright lights on. hehe! My husband said, "Vanity thou name is woman" lol
I saw George when he sat down up front in the audience with his wife. Also it was great to see Denise sit next to them! I would love to meet Denise , at least maybe say Hello! She looked so pretty!Wish I had gotten front row as they said you
cn walk up to the steps to make photos of them on break. Ours turned out pretty well, considering. I just enjoy hearing Alan sing Period. I hope to get a chance to see him more , hopefully in October or sometimes when i do not have company..

I thought Alan looked right at us in the center row 2, we could see him so well and I was hoarse from shouting &  my hands hurt from Clapping! haha! we had a Great Time! Talked to a Guy who flew from CA to see George & esp Alan too!
He said "his daughter counsels OUR  wounded TROOPS and has a practice also, but volunteers her time." How wonderful!

Oh I do wish I had gotten tickets later from the Fan Club but we were so anxious to see Alan w/George that I got them early from the Opry( thus that was why we were sitting in the Mezzanine.) It was great just to be there & well worth driving 13 Hours + to see them! Alan and Lee Ann did a great job on their Duet! He always does great on any song . Alan did "He Stopped Loving Her Today", I'm sure it made George Happy! Wonderful Job Alan!!!!!Alan got a Great standing ovation!!!His Voice is incredibly the Best! GAC was recording it for theGJ Birthday Bash! The audience was thrilled to clap! Alan's voice seems to be at it's Best and I would love to see him do a duet perhaps with Carrie!
Too bad George had a bit of laryngitus or he might could have done with Alan and the StrayHorns one for us,"Good Year For the Roses." One of my favorites but it was his night, so I will just wish George Jones a Very Happy Birthday! God Bless him and he's still going strong! He is a Huge Part of The Opry, for Years now! He has aged well and seemed so happy, talking with Alan & the others.Loved Jimmy Dickens , he was way funny & new material that made everyone laugh even more. It's the way he tells them, that cracks us up! hehe. The Opry has a Great Star w/Jimmy & he is definitely Opry! Nice to see The Oak Ridge Boys perform, after having been inducted into the Opry recently! Congrats to them!Great Job! Jamie Johnson sang a few Songs, very nice! also The new ones singing for their first time at the Opry!
So great to see All that performed, plus the New Opry Bldg.So nice to see they put the "old circle" in this new Bldg. May it never be unbroken. So many Singers have stood on that Circle to sing! Love all the fancy Artsy Guitars for decoration
at the entry!

The Opry Mills is not completed yet and we had quiet a walk to our car, but when it opens, it will be almost like before for parking. They did have buses and carts to take you to the entrance, but we walked. Today I can't but lol   it was fun!

Enjoy Alan at Macon! we have our children coming here then, so we can't attend, so sorry too! Sue I'm so happy you get to attend at MN, good luck to you also on a M & G!! Dizzy told me all about Alan after having seen him so much, also about Sue, your driving them from their home, to see Alan, that was so sweet of you flying from MN to Jax!

Take care Everyone still resting up . I hope you can view these photos ok. I wanted you to see them asap.
Enjoy all of you who are going to Macon! Jerrie-MS PS- When I uploaded these photos, I had them in order but they are backwards, not sure why.It started with minnie Pearl, whom I have had my photo made with before, she is wayy funny!

Thanks Jeri, a good write up too.  Glad you and your husband were able to go.  I wish Jerry liked to go to concerts with me.  We did go see George Jones at Harrah's  in Cherokee, NC a couple of weeks ago.  It was a good show and we had good seats.  It was a small venue.  I had not been there in several years and couldn't believe how much Harrah's had grown.  Did play some slots, but didn't win anything.  If they were more generous with their machines, we would go more often.  LOL!  Of course it would cost more too!!

Thanks Jeri for sharing. I wish I would have got to meet you and the other fans who attended. I knew where you were sitting and glanced your way a few times but never got your attention. As you said, it was a great show. I have a fear of heights too and had a problem sitting in row 1, Section 21....but got used to it. Alan was awesome. We already had tickets to see George Jones in Indianapolis, before we got these Opry tickets. I worried he might not be better but he was. He sang non stop for an hour and a half. Great show too.

Thanks for your comments, I know the photos weren't closeups , but I love seeing the  Bands etc.. Besides I sat up late night posting, making sure you Fans could see Alan asap.. I suppose they might mean more after having watched the Show, remember On October 4th to watch it..GAC.. check your local channels for time. it was a fun show!
Alan did that song so wonderful, you will love it! God Bless, Jerrie
Edited- Sharon, my husband Jerry also, will go w/me but he doesn't like to lol. He loves Art Museums and grandchildren more. I thought you meant my "Jerry" ha! he is a hoot!
Sharon I played the slots once and got so much money, I was feeling so guilty about gambling, I gave it to my Church here hehe! from a family of pastors, as you can tell.
i have been lucky lots, esp meeting Alan in late 2009 and it was my greatest thrill. No guilt there, Just Pure Heaven!

Alan did do a great job on George's song "He Stopped Loving Her Today". It was awesome. I was surprised NOT to find that performance on YouTube where the duet he sang with LeeAnn is. Oh well I video'd it on my iPhone and listen to it often.  I can't wait to see it all over again on Oct. 4th. Take care all.
