Hello everyone,

Cannot believe it is August 17 already.  Where is the summer going?  I will be happy with some cooler temperatures as here in Ontario, Canada it is very hot also.

You all sound well so that makes me happy.  I cannot find your pics Jean but I will retry.  So glad Jerrie your family had such a great time in Nashville.

I'm okay just pulled some stomache muscles and then re pullled them again.  Hubby tells me to be very careful but I find it hard staying still when things need doing.

Just finished watching the taped show that was on Sunday night and when I saw that whilte hat in the back, I got so excited like I was at a concert when "our" #1 MAN came out...........just made my day.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the state of the economy.......think its worse in US than Canada right now but things have to get better somehow.

Everyone stay safe and cool....YEE HAW!!

Hello, AJ Friends. I was glad to see Alan's song at #29 on Billboard. My station is still not playing it so this morning I e-mailed the Program Director & will let you know if I hear back from them.
We had highs of 90 with low humidity for a few days but the say the humidity is going back up tonight & tomorrow. It was nice while it lasted.
I'm so proud of all of you for getting out the vote & making Alan #1 on the Top 20 Favorite Men.

Jeri- Glad you had such a great time with your company.

Elaine- I know you will miss Kelsey. That will be an adjustment.

Gwen- I say Yeehaw too!

Dizzy- Glad you're going to the Opry & Macon to see Alan.

BHR- Thanks for bringing us all the links to good Alan information.

Love to All.

Hi All,
I haven't heard Martina's new song yet.  I've heard good reviews though.
I'm jealous that y'all are going to the Opry and Macon.  Hope to see you in Macon.  Can't make 'em both and they are two different directions!  I'd be going up and then come down.  Of course you are too Dizzy!
Jeri, your trip to Nashville and MS sounded like fun.  I like Japanese steak houses.  We took the kids one time when they were visiting and they were okay with it, but not like we enjoy them.  Funny kids I have!!!!
JeriB, you are keeping busy with your fixing up etc.  Good for you.

Y'all have a good evening.

Elaine

Elaine,
I'm not sure, but I know they love it here in the USA! She was so proud of Alan's Tape and Mr B Modeled the Alan Jackson Apron for us, so proud of it for grilling ha!It says on the Apron"who says you can't cook it all"
The CD they played in their car but the Lady cousin of My Husband's from Sweden, told me she could not wait to hear it at home and hear the words. She liked Alan's Voice and she will play it at home to listen more. They love anything Country. They have an apartment but also a country house in Sweden. They bake their own bread..My son had a great time there with his new wife, they plan to save for another trip there asap. They brought old photographs for my husband to see and copy of his dad when young & church he attended,Lutheran. His Dad died years ago but he loved this Country!

Sharon, this place in Nashville is extra good food. We could get lobster, chicken, salmon, steak, scallops,Shrimp w/ veggies and all the rice and veggies you want.. they put on a show cooking at your own Table, I got reservations. It was called the Shogun.. Mr B had his photo made by a Geisha girl statue lol. He is so nice , they all four were. We paid for the dinner, since they were our guests, at my sons house he provided. we all drove there, in our individual cars..The cabin house they stayed in is big and out in the woods near Franklin..Free place to stay isn't bad huh.. My son was so happy to see them, after going through the flood etc..He and his Wife visited them in Sweden, after they wed. we had a Blast.a Big Check but who cares with friends & relatives ha! oh yes! we had lime sorbet in little pewter dessert dishes, also soup at the beginning of the meal. The show was fun. He tossed me extra rice with the swords they stir the rice with on the grill at your table. we laughed & he thought it was funny too! all great food and fresh tasting. Sharon there were two teens w/us and they loved the food. You should visit this place near Franklin or Brentwood. we found a cracker barrel somewhere, to get some good soup, we were so tired. I was hoping to see Alan & family somewhere LOL Ruth Chris maybe ha!Jonathans is not bad food, also Amerigo's, love their Tiramisu, in Brentwood I think it is.. Anyone else know any places to eat , when we go to the show in September. local places..we ate in the Hotel that was rebuilt after the flood. Had my photo made with the man who plays piano there ha!I think it was called cascades, not sure.. we stayed at a Hotel Suite w/ hubby's brother in Franklin. It seems like Home, we stay there so much LOL nice & quiet too.
Let me know if you know any sights we might not have seen. Harriet what was the one you mentioned. I think we have been there before..might stop by..The trip is tiring even after staying in MS earlier to visit relatives & friends.Driving that far is not easy.. But for Alan, we go! ha! Jerrie-MS

Dizzy Hi!
I was so glad the food was fresh. online If you can get the Tenneseean.com, Look at the very bottom under Metromix and you will see My family photo under Shogun. The chef is cooking, I wrote a review. The chef was so funny w/His swords, flipping me extra rice lol. can't wait for our next MS & TN trip in Sept! Seeing Alan. I got two Alan cookbooks today from the store. Giving one to my daughter..The recipes are like my mom used to make, exactly. Must be all Southern cooks back then cooked alike. Great family photos too, Love it! Jerrie-MS

Good Evening, AJ Friends. Well, we still have the heat in HotLanta. The high today was 94 with heat index of 96. We just had a thunderstorm & more coming so I thought I'd drop a  note here. I'm plaeased that Alan's song is back on Mediabase at #33 with spins increasing. I am encouraged by that
Tomorrow we go to my niece's wedding. It will be bittersweet becuase they get to be together only a few days & her new hubby, a soldier in the U.S. Army, has to go to Maryland for special training then he will be deployed to a combat zone by the end of the year. But she was dating him when he was deployed to Afghanistan & he's also been to Iraq & now this. I think she's grounded & know what to expect as a military wife. At any rate looking forward to the wedding.

Jeri- I love those Japanese Hibachi restaurants. The food is very good & it's very entertaining having them cook in front of you.
I know a tropical storm is headed toward FLA & hope it does not make landfall near you. Also hope your asthma is doing OK.

Elaine- Have not heard back from that program director yet.

Sharon- Glad you are getting to go to Macon. Can't get hubby intrested in either Macon or Nashville.

Dizzy- Hope your birthday is a happy one.

Love to All.

I have not posted on the monthly thread for awhile but doing okay. Been having issues with my computer and this morning our router bit the dust. We went ahead and got a new one and hubby set everything up and running. Well, then the networking connection on my computer and our youngest son's computer will not function while hubby's and our oldest son's computer's networking connection are working just fine. Ok, that did not suit me fine, so hubby took my laptop PC to his computer/office room and fixed the problem. Our youngest son's computer, being an older desktop model, is not getting the networking connection at all so hubby unplugged and disconnected it and gave him his laptop computer instead to use. Hubby also have a desktop computer which he prefer to use anyway because he have a 23 inch monitor/screen with it. . .better to read text from.

My issues with my computer has something to do with the browser I was using. . .Mozilla Firefox. The last couple months, everytime I'm online, my computer is hesitating a lot. Also it's function speed is at normal or where it should be at first. But as I'm online for longer and longer period of time it starts to slow down to a crawl and I had to close the Window and start all over again to get it back to its normal speed. But it's not, however, that simple because when I try to close the Window, it has froze or will not close. I had to do certain steps to close it. I have lost a lot of message I was trying to post on this forum and few other forums I visit because of these problems that I decided to switch browser. I'm now using Google Chrome, per hubby's recommendation. . .he's using the same one. So far so good and it seems to work faster than Firefox. Enough with my rambling about my computer woes.

Harriet, it's always my pleasure to share links to any interesting and informative anything that has to do with Alan. I have just read another couple of interesting articles. . .not Alan related. . .yesterday that I hesitated to post the link here as I don't know if anyone here would be find it as interesting as I did. Anyway, one has something to do with how some songs are getting played on the radio while others are not (I recommend reading the comments too that follows the article) and the other is about the car tuners/radios and CD players. Here are the links:

http://www.countrymusicislove.com/2011/08/open-mic-with-mike-thomas-why-i-cant-love-todays-country-music.html#comments

http://www.musicrow.com/2011/08/charlie-cook-on-air-2/  (Note: Ask yourselves if you could do without a tuner/radio and or CD player in your car before clicking on this link)

Hope you all enjoy reading the articles and comments in the links above. Take care, everyone and stay cool. The fall season will be upon us soon, though not soon enough.

HUGS,
BHR

Elaine

Elaine,
Not sure if they have Country there but i suppose they do.. Never had time to ask them. She loved the Alan Jackson CD I took them and I will send them more later..Alan Jackson has two new Fans now in them, they loved his voice!
They are back in Sweden already, left wednesday.
Harriet, I don't think the hurricane will hit Florida here but can't tell until later... I hate for it to hit anywhere but pray it doesn't.
If it is a big one, we get heavy rains & winds...Thanks for thinking of us and Dizzy lives here too. I think we will be fine But that can change. Now it is saying a cat 3 along side us maybe or in the Carolinia's, Sharon batten down the hatches. I hope we don't get it. It is not looking the Best for us, however. I still get scared when they are headed possibly here.
Say prayers for us and all who are threatned by this storm. Thank You & God be w/us all.

We have lived here over 30 years and I still do not like Florida weather w/asthma. My children is why I stay here.

Florida is still way hot even at night..your weather sounds great Elaine..Harriet, my asthma is bothered by living in Florida
I did not feel bad once in Nashville or MS..we should move.. I use my meds and spray and see specialists here. Thanks for your concern.
Take care Everyone and bidding you Adieu for now, got to rest up, God Bless,Take care Jerrie> can't wait for September 13 YeeHaw!Alan will think it's his Day w/all his Fans there LOL..luv George too! He looks good still..Love this Alan calender screensaver Yo! LQQKING GOOD! ha!
