Can't believe August is here already and
we have had only one weekend that was
like our normal summer temps.
Going crazy with the noise from the roofers.
I sure hope that they finish today.

Hello, AJ Friends. We are definitely into August, the hottest month of the year in the South. Our temp is expected to be 101 all afternoon. They have it worse in Texas- they were 110 yesterday in Dallas.. My sister is there for annual Mary Kay Cosmetics meeting. I'm loving the new song & video  hoping it will start moving a little more on the charts.

Thanks, Elaine, for starting the August Thread.

Eeryone try to stay cool. There aren't many cool spots in this country right now.

Hello dear AJ Friends.
Elaine, thanks for starting the August thread. Hope your roof is fiksed. What was going on?

So nice to be back on Alan's FC-Board. We had a great vacation time in France. First week we had sunny and warm weather. Second a few rain-showers and dark clouds but after all we don't complain. Food and wine were DELICIOUS !!! Nice people , the region and all those medieval villages, churches and castles were fantastic. My wife adore strolling in the old small streets, souvenir shops and markets with regional products. I do, but the passage of the "Tour de France" made my day !lol.
I enjoyed also relaxing on a "terrase" drinking a glas of red wine. We took about 60 bottles red wine and champagne with us back to Belgium. It's cheaper, but main reason ... we could taste the wine and champagne by the producer in the "Chateau".
I add link with some pictures: Click on the link and you'll see "Album not found" ... ignore it and click above on "My Albums" and on "La Vallée du ..."

http://www.myalbum.com/Album=06YTSKLB

I hope everybody is in good health .
Harriet, so glad you are doing well. Hope you can keep it that way.

We had a rainy day with only 70°f / 20°c. Forecast for the next days isn't very good.
How is Alan's new song doing? I hope his new album is coming out soon.

That's all for this evening my friends.
Greatings to everybody and enjoy the pictures.

Harriet and Everyone hi!
It's hot here too and now a tropical storm could come near us, or here. I'm always a wreck until it's here ha. Dizzy batten down the hatches, as they say. Personally I think it will go out to sea and we will get rain which we can use..
Just never knowing, grrrr Pray it away & that it wont develope into a hurricane.
Jean, I saw some photos but do not know which you are.. I guess Elaine will, as she has met you.Beautiful places and people! Sounds heavenly, I love Red wine & when I go to Nashville, I buy Kix Brooks red wine LOL. we don't drink very much, just socially. I love a Margarita now & then, hold the salt though. ha! Reminds me of Alan's Video, Love It and bought it today.
Thanks Harriet for telling me the Video "Long Way To Go" was on I-Tunes.. Love it! I hope your Sis will be ok in TX, It's so hot there now..

Our Guests from Sweden will be in Nashville soon and My son & his wife are letting them use a house, about ten miles from them. They will fly in and rent a car. we will stay at a hotel Suite. we are taking everyone out for the evening meal after their arrival. I told them to pick a place..they picked Shogun, where they cook your food at your table and put on a show. I like to be served and in a nice quiet place but these people are younger than us LOL We took them to the Aquarium last time but it hasn't been rebuilt , after the flood. Does anyone here Like the SHogun Restaurant..nashville?
I was thinking maybe they were Ruth Chris type ha They are in Yellowstone now and really enjoying it there!
Got to run now, and check the weather forecast tonight.. lordy! Dizzy hold tight, it's a tropical storm now but take care,
it may not come here, I hope. See You all Later, no time to post much today , Jerrie

It's me on picture n°3 in the yellow T-shirt waiting the "Tour de France". My wife(right) and daughter(left) are on picture n°6 and n°28.
Have a great time in Nashville.

Elaine, as you know i'm a roofer. I'm retired but still have a interest in that job. It was a warm day but it is raining again this evening.

I finally turned off the AC and have all the windows open.  Yeah!  It's in the 80's, but low humidity and a nice breeze.  Supposed to be nice this whole week.

JeanB - glad you had a nice time in France.  I can't get into your pictures - it keeps asking for a password.

I picked up the new Country Weekly with Alan on the cover.  Nice article - also in another section of the mag, a look back at August 2003 & huge success of '5 O'Clock Somewhere'.

Good Day, AJ Friends. I just love that video for Long Way to Go- it is so funny. I hope it does well. Let's all remember to request the song & vote on the countdowns. Such a fun song & video.
It is still hot here- yesterday the heat index was 101-102 all afternoon. Last night at Midnight we had severe thunderstorms which kept us up awhile. Today some heavy rain but not as much thunder.

JeanB- So glad you had a good vacation in France. I can't get into your pics- everything I click on just gives me the USA Flight Pattern but I can imagine what a great time you had & hopefully recharged your personal batteries.

Jeri- I have not heard of the restaurant you mentioned but there is a great barbecue place in Brentwood called Corky's- there is also one in Pigoen Forge. But your type of visitors may not be interested in barbecue. I love to eat at the Wildhorse Saloon- the food is good & it is very entertaining & a great place.

Kathy- So glad your weather improved so much. We are still in the heat dome down here.

Sherry- How are you tolerating the heat in Texas? My sisiter told me not to worry- she is totally in air-conditioing for her conference.

Elaine- Glad you have peace & quiet and nice weather now. I guess it takes a little longer for summer to come to Canada.

Folks, our Stock Market fell 500 points today - I just don't know what to think about the economies of the USA & Europe. But that is scary.

Harriet, I am glad you sister is staying in the air conditioning in Dallas.  We are not having it quite as hot as Dallas, but almost!!  We went swimming with the grandkids and it was not refreshing at all - the pool water was so warm!!  We just try not to be outside much in the hottest part of the day.

Very hot in Arkansas to.  We had a heat index yesterday of 114   stayed inside as much as possible.        Very little rain here  it seems to rain  in all different areas of  arkansas but here  in central ark.        Yes pool water is like bath water  so warm  outside.       Our mornings have been nice in 80s  then by noon its hot.           Everyone  take care..
