You're right, Harriet. This is a great article. Read it too from CMT, maybe about the same time you did. From the current trend in country music with very, very few artists are still carrying on a touch of the traditional country music, it does hard to fathom who would fill in the shoes of the likes of Alan and George Strait let alone the legendary country music artists of the '50s, '60s and '70s. The line about George Strait, Alan and Reba approaching AARP status kind of made me smile a bit. It's a little hard for me to imagine that Alan is already reaching that age range. It doesn't seemed that long ago that he was just in his early 30s and starting up a great country music career. Thanks for posting this.

Harriet, Great Article! Thanks for posting. I agree w/You on the George Jones Song. I had read this on CMT , I think.
Here's hoping Alan will be around a long timne to come! I love Traditional Music. I wish the awards would have seperate
catagories for Traditional and not have to compete with Pop.

All of you are welcome & glad you enjoyed the article. I would love to meet both Alan & George Jones. They are such treasures. Same for Loretta Lynn.

Great article..thanks for sharing. This was my favorite line, it's oh so true:

In country, Waylon's dead, Jones and Willie and their ilk are not what they once were. George Strait and Alan Jackson and Reba and a few other credible artists are approaching AARP status. They have no credible successors on their level. There are pretenders but no genuine contenders.
