We went to the first AJ concert in Brisbane with 8 other friends and had seating in front of the stage on the main floor, maybe 10 - 15 rows back. Before AJ came on stage we were offered an upgrade in seating to an area reserverd for the band members family. Of course it was excepted and was a sensational view for which we were very grateful for. What a fantastic show, we were not disappointed one bit, it was everything we expected and then some!!!!!
But it didnt end there!!!!!
The following day we left Brisbane for the Gold Coast to have a 2 night stop over before heading home. We were all out relaxing by the pool at our accommodation reminising about the great show the night before, and bugger me dead if it wasn't AJ himself walking past the pool area to go for an afternoon walk. We were gobsmacked. We said hello, told him we loved the show, mt mate shaked his hand, we thanked him for coming out to Australia, then repected his privacy and left him alone.
We could hardly contain our excitment.
My wife could not help herself, on his return she approached him quitely with our friends daughter (who is 13 yrs old) and asked if he would sign our tickets from the night before and our friends childs, pair of white denim shorts. He was happy to do this and was thanking us for coming to his show. He asked my wife is she was on vacation, and said "why thank you mamm for coming to the show"
We were all on such a natural high for the rest of our trip (and still are!!!). We could not believe our luck to not only get a free upgrade at his concert, but to meet the man himself in person, in a relaxed casual environment. There was no one making a big scene, or closing in with camera's etc. We left him alone to enjoy his time, and repect his privacy.
We also saw the band members while at breakfast one morning, My mate took his daughter over and quitely said hello, told them they put on a fantastic show, and them left them to enjoy there breakfast without a fuss.
This has been the trip and experience of a lifetime we will never forget. To get to see our favourite american country artist perform here in Australia is a dream come true, but to actually see him and meet him the way we did ,is something we all treasure for ever.
We all thank you Alan and your band for coming out to Australia. The only question we want to know is when are coming back!!!!!!!!!!!
