show started at 7pm, Mcallister Kemp opened the show..not bad at all. more counrty rock..
Jasmine Rae came on about 7.30pm ,played for nearly and hour. quite good as well she is from melbourne.

stage was adjusted for Alan

9pm Show time..
the great SOUTHERN MAN appears.. ALAN JACKSON..
open with Gone Country..

the crowd were on there feet, and singing every word.. Alan appeared to be in aww of it all, taking it all in ..the crowd were just loving it..and he was loving the crowd..

he sang many hits , throwing many gutar picks to the awesome melbourne crowd..
signing many t-shirts , hats BOOTS , etc.. along the way.
Sadly he didn't sing 'RING OF FIRE,  there was plenty of classic and great hits..

we did notice that ALOT of FRONT ROW TICKETS were being given away ...FEMALE FANS.. ONLY..the enitre front row was all female....not that I'm complaining.
BUT that soon turned around when both male and females jumped to the front of the stage, secruity were excellent, didn't bother them.

Can''t wait to see Alan again.. here in melbourne
COME BACK NOW   soon..

fabulous photos!!!

Okay - I am going to Sydney so want to know a few things.

What camera did you use? a point & shoot or did you use a slr? Was there 'smoke' used as I find that ruiins my p&s photos at concerts - but I can get around it if I take my dslr .. but would prefer the little p&s.

How did you get front row tickets?Huh I am in the third row so am hoping the view is just as good and I am gathering people were moving around etc?

I am so excited - sorry for the questions!!! Smiley What other songs did he sing?Huh

we used a Nikon DSLR , we used the standand lens that came with the camera, But if you have a 200ml lens take it, it will get better close ups for you, Unless you  jump seats  and go to the front of the stage, If the people in front  of you move forward as well , we asked the people in front of us first.
.. smoke was only used in the support acts , not for Alan, from front row the stage is probably is about 2 meters then Alan sings back another 7 feet, from the edge of stage.. I'm not sure what secruity are going to be like for the acer arena , I've never been there, but we did ask about cameras, and we were told NO detachable lens.if you take a 200 ml lens ... HIDE IT...
he sang songs off all his albums.. Alot of the No 1's hits and some great classics.

he does show alot of his video clips on the big screen behind him.

enjoy the sydney show..
cheers.

thanks for answering! Smiley Am umming and aahhhing over the dslr.  Mine is rather large even with a small lense on it - mmmm I have 2 other sizes of P&S's ........ surely from the 3rd row we will get decent pics.

I am kinda hoping the mad crush that happened at Tim McGraw wont be similar at Alan Jackson.

I am really excited!! Can't come around quick enough... Smiley Smiley

crikyhd ,

Thanks so much for showing us your great photos at the concert. Alan signed your boot, that was great. He looked very happy and seemed to be smiling & enjoying himself.
Thanks so much for posting the photos and so many times we have gone and from the third row we managed to stand by the stage too, Isn't it wonderful!
Whoever asked about camera's, yours did make good photos. Our camera is expensive but we have a problem like the other person did, with getting clear photos, when there is smoke used.Yours are so clear and nice! So happy for You!
Congrats again and thanks for showing your photos.. So glad you got close..Thanks and so glad you enjoyed seeing Alan!
Thanks again, I'm so glad you got to see Alan.I miss seeing him, I hope to see him sometime this year,
 God willing,  Jeri_MS

Thanks for posting your photos.  We Kiwis are flying over on Wednesday to see him in Brisbane on Thursday and can't wait.  It's been a long wait but I can see it is going to be well worth it.  Great he is supporting local Aussie talent what a star he is and a fantastic person.  Did any of you see Denise too?
