Alan Jackson Australian Support Act Miranda Lambert has Cancelled Tour

Due to severe upper respiratory infection, Miranda Lambert is unable to join country superstar, Alan Jackson, on his Australian Tour, beginning this week. Lambert performed this weekend in the States, but her condition worsened and by Sunday, her physician ordered complete rest.

“I was very much looking forward to Australia with Alan Jackson and performing for all the music lovers down under”, said Lambert.

For Alan Jackson’s five Arena shows (in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane), Jasmine Rae will now perform the second spot on each night, with country music’s hottest duo, McAlister Kemp, added as the opening artists.

At CMC Rocks the Hunter this weekend, John Williamson is now confirmed to step in for Miranda Lambert and is excited about being added to the Festival line-up.

That is such a blow!  I've heard such wonderful things about Miranda and was looking forward to hearing her. 

Ah...... personally I don't like John Williamson's singing.  I read once that he's worked so hard to 'ham up' his Aussie accent!  It drives me crazy.  (Sorry to any JW fans reading this.)  Why couldn't he just be natural? 

For those of you who like him and are attending CMC Rocks the Hunter, congratulations!  You'll have a fine time I'm sure ..... but I'm very glad he's not replacing Miranda in Sydney!

so sorry she got sick and had to cancel. I know I would be very disappointed as well. Miranda is one of my favorites. She is so like Alan, not pretentious, just real!

So sorry to hear Miranda cannot open for Alan. I have seen her- she puts on a good show. And she keeps it country too. But it is better for her to rest her voice & it looks like Alan is finding other artists to open for him.

To be quite honest, I'm going to the concert to see Alan and the Strayhorns.  As long as they're there I really don't mind too much.  I don't know anything about Miranda but I've heard she's really, really great.  I know Nan is upset about it though.  At first she was really cut to find out they'd replaced her with Jasmine Rae but she realised later she was thinking of someone else.  Even though Jasmine is an Aussie, I don't know anything about her either.

Dee on You Tube-Jasmine Rae , she looks like she sings Country pop but cute girl, young too.I haven't heard  her except on You Tube.
Put her name on a link to You Tube and she has video's on there.. Enjoy Alan, he's Good enough for the whole Concert.I do like Miranda, she's a good performer and has a lot of hits here and Great Songs.She's down to earth like Alan..& rich ha!

Honestly, I don't care much for Miranda, don't get me wrong she seems like a nice lady, but don't really like her voice.
her singing sounds more like screaming to me. I saw her performance at Fan Fair in 2009, I coudn't wait for it to end! JMO

AJ and Australia are the main reasons for me to come here.

Nan's really crook.  She's supposed to be on her way here by now but ended up back at the doctor's for more treatment.  Poor girl's going to try again tomorrow.  So we've lost 24 hours of our time together.  I feel so sorry for her.  She must be feeling so frustrated - that on top of feeling so unwell.
