Hi guys......my hubby went and got himself BURSITIS.......bad.  Now I have to play nursemate.  You know I never really did care for nurses.  Did you ever see the movie ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOOS NEST?  Well I have been told I make nurse Ratched seem like a sweetie!  I have alot of health problems so it is hard to be looking after him.  Darn men are like big babies when they are sick....mine is anyways.........sooo I had to get out last night so went to a casino not far from home.  Was sitting trying to relax and what did I hear on the radio at the casino but ISLB........Well the smile that came on my face and there I was singing along and then I felt sooo much better.  I never hear that song on the radio but I don't listen to radio much......always CD's mostly..........So thanks Alan for making my day better and yes I did win a little....

and the sound of a whipperwill........Gwen

Whoops! I am a retired nurse. I tell you most nurses I worked with were very compassionate & kind. There are always a few bad apples in every barrel. Sorry you did not have a good experience.

weather has cooled back down in arkansas.            Tomorrow we are expecting thunderstorms  all day.

Right now on the tour page  it looks like we wont  be going to any  AJ   concerts  this year.               Everyone take care.

Harriet I think I need to rephrase that........I make a TERRIBLE nurse.  I have the highest respect for nurses as I think they are extremely overworked and unappreciated at times, have very stressful jobs and are not paid near what they are worth.  My sister, brother in law and siter in law are all nurses and I am sure you were a fantastic one.  Lucky are those who were under your care........... I am a terrible one with no patience.......am I forgiven now???

Gwen, thanks for clarifying your statement. Of course you are forgiven. There is no problem now- I just thought you were saying you didn't care for nurses & I wanted to defend my colleagues.

Gwen for some reasonmen don't like to
spend time in bed when they are sick.
Harriet our nurses get paid well here.
They are all paid by the government as
we don't have private hospitals.
Not a good start to my morning. My remote
for my T.V. didn't work last night so had to
phone Telus and it took a hr to get it working
again. I don't know about these digital boxes.
So much can go wrong.
Cloudy and windy here this morning.

Well that little touch of Spring sure didn't last long.  It's been dreary here - 30's temps.  More snow tonight & tomorrow and on & off this weekend.  I can't remember a winter with so much consistent snow - I'm ready for a get away.  April 1st I will be going to northern California to visit my sister - WOOHOO!  Even if it's in the 60's there - it will feel like a tropical paradise compared to our Midwestern winter.

Hello, AJ Friends. I am doing so well, much much better & feel blessed. Thanks for all of your support. We've had lovely weather here- coming to a thundering halt as a big weather system with thunderstorms is headed our way & will go all the way to the East Coast.

Kathy- I shouldn't complain about thunderstorms, sorry about all the snow you're getting.

Sue- I have at least 2 more appointments over a 3 week period to get my teeth. Sending prayers for your friend.

Jean-AZ-I think a snowblower for a golfcart is a great trade.lol

Jeri- My dental work is very expensive but I wanted it enough to do without some other things for the time being- my choice.

CARNAHABI- Welcome to the board. Can we know your first name? I don't see a concert near me either but there may be more posted.

Sharon- The weather has been great lately but those thunderstorms are on the way for both of us.

Elaine- Glad to hear the Canadian nurses are paid well. Must have been frustrating when the remote didn't work.

Gwen- How is your hubby with the bursitis? And how are you holding up?

Anita- You sound very busy. Just visit us when you can.

JeanB- Seems like Belgium is a small enough country without being further divided. Guess what- I just got your Christmas card- isn't that funny? Thanks- it's beautiful.

Love to All.

Harriet so happy you are finally on the mend.
It was a long winter for you. This year it has to
be better.
Busy washing bedding this morning. Thought
it was time to wash the blankets.

Gwen
Gwen, Sorry about your Husband but bursitis is painful, my Mom had that once..
I think You and Harriet are probably good Nurses or In your case nurse maid ha.
I really like someone who knows what they are doing, if they are short tempered, that's their problem. The job has to be stressful. I agree thay are underpaid and asked to do much more than years ago.One can be a Great nurse w/no patience and I still  would consider their work the Best. Harriet I'm sure you were a great nurse w/Patience too, which does make one feel Great to have..
Gwen I understand your dilemma also. Men are not used to being ill and some( Like Mine) can be really a pain to wait on..He is better now, but I had just fallen a while back and bursted my head open and still I was to cook & take care of my "Wifey" duties LOL, they get fussy too, or mine is..But he is a great husband really. I've been married longer than BHR, so he better get used to being retired or I will retire too & stop cooking ha!j/k. I really spoiled him long ago, so that is my problem now ha!j/k He is a dear, dear, man and I adore him. He jokes a lot and this really helps me..

I'm from a family of Ministers, but I'm not perfect and neither are they LOL.

My son called last night from near Franklin and the wind was horrible and rain too. Lightning awful , we had planed to go.

I heard today there was one tornado in a county near them but Thank God it skipped them. Most damage in Williamson was from downed huge trees on homes on power lines. Some areas were without power as in Historic Franklin and others, the lines are above ground..
a church whole roof blown off and the Bridgestone  facility roof damage .

They were all sleeping in the same room last night to protect the babies and all be together..Tornado's do not seem to travel in paths like years ago in MS , but the weather has changed and one never knows where they will pop down.
I hope Alan had left for his next Tour date..Brentwood no one was killed at least.., I think..Mostly
damage in middle TN..God is good, no deaths so far as I can tell in newspaper..I told my son's wife I would pray it away..
The water was scary, after just getting their house back to normal & all new things, after the Historic Flood. I hope  they all will be ok.

I just hope the Hurricanes miss us soon too, and Alan will come here to Florida later summer. i sould selfish, I really hope Alan enjoys his Tour and will be safe..Take care Everyone and stay safe in storms, Jerrie-MS Just got the New Alan Newsletter Yea! Thanks to the staff and those who get the Fans spoiled with all the goodies of being a Fan member!

Hello, Everyone!

Have not been posting on the monthly thread for awhile now. Thought I'll pop in and say 'Hi!' to all of you. I'm doing fine and enjoying what's left of our beautiful weather here in GA, as Harriet has stated, before it changes again. Seems my hubby and I are going to be on a brief travel again next month. He's been scheduled to attend a business conference in Charleston, S.C. March 7 and he wants the whole family to join him there. That will be quite fun as it will give us a chance to visit places there that we frequented while we were still dating some years ago and would certainly include the church we were married at almost 40 years ago. . . .it doesn't seemed that long ago. :-)

To those of you who are or maybe in the path tornado and thunderstorms, and those of you who once again are dealing with the aftermath of yet another snowstorm, my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Stay safe and warm. Prayers also to everyone else who needs it.

Take care,
BHR

Hello everyone.........Well March is right around the corner so that is a good sign.  Harriet and Jeri just wanted to let you know my hubby's bursitis is finally getting better now.  He has been on anti-inflammatory and pain pills and in a sling all week.  Now the sling and pain pills are gone so he is going to give it a try on Monday at work.  He is a dental lab technician so we will see how it goes.  Just a reminder I need your prayers for Wed. March 2 for my laser eye surgury.  OUCH........I don't make a good nurse OR a good eye surgury paitient either!!!!

Everyone stay warm and safe.........guess Alan is practicing his "GOODAY MATE"  accent now!!!

Gwen,
Prayers for you for your upcoming surgery.I'm sure you will be fine, it's just the before jitters we all get before surgery.
Take care, and will be thinking of you w/prayers too.Jerrie-MS

Harriet, I'm so glad you are finally feeling better.I know how it can feels to be down a bit too long, and things are in a pretty long cycle before ending.
My husband is feeling better but it seems to change more quickly, as he ages. Things just pop up more quickly, but we must not get downhearted and know we can make it through this time. we all have those times.
Keep The faith, Hugs Jerrie-MS
