There is a big blizzard & some of you AJ Friends are in the path of it. When I woke up it was pounding Oklahoma City & headed to St, Louis, Chicago, New York & New England. Fortunately Atlanta just will get about 2 inches of rain. Prayers & best wishes for all of you in the path of the storm. And so February comes roaring in  with a storm & 3 ACM Nominations for Alan.

I am really looking forward to this pending weather - there is an air of excitement here about it. It doesn't happen very often and it just forces everyone to settle in and relax.  Got plenty of food and beverages, dog, cat and turtle food.  Gas for the snow blower, movies, books and computers and a sewing maching so we are all good here.

I am looking forward to the sun coming out after the storm passes - it's gonna be COLD for the next few days.  I feel sorry that my youngest son will miss it - he missed the blizzard of 78 because he was born that April and this time he is in Arizona - dipstick that he is!  The only thing that causes me to worry is for my mom and my mother-in-law that they don't lose power.

Happy February everyone!  No matter what Puxatawny Phil has to say we are halfway through winter and spring will be here before we know it! Some crocus and daffodils will be a welcome sight for sure!

The winds are a blowing!!   Al Roker & Jim Cantore (from The Weather Channel) are reporting from Chicago - they voluntarily came here!???  I guess that's their business and I think they are excited about it from a strictly professional point of view.
I'm hunkered down for the next couple of days.   I don't think I'll be able to go anywhere even if I wanted to, which I don't.

Don't think Phil will even get a chance to see his shadow!

Happy February!  well thank goodness winter is half over miss January!  ha!
that blizzard is starting to show it's head here.  the wind has picked up and the snow is starting to fall.
I remember very well the blizzard of 78.  we were snowed in and ran out of diapers for our 1 year old.  hubby walked the train tracks into town (about 2 miles one way) that next morning to buy pampers.  but don't you know he loved every minute of it!  i don't think this storm will compare to that in the amount of snow fall but we will see.
Stay warm and safe everyone in it's path.

Happy cold and icy February. We got ice and snow last night and it is doing it again. All the schools are closed around me and the airport is basically closed. I am ready for warm weather. Stay safe and warm everyone.

Harriet,

Thanks for the update.. Storms are sounding bad, I just hope Alan will not be anywhere he and his Band are in danger.
TN just got over Snow, I hope it skips by Nashville. Florida has had a few tornado warnings but nothing happened but slight rain for a few days. I hope in hurricane season, it skips right by too & goes out to the ocean.
Sure think of the places you Guys live and hope you stay safe. Kathy I hope you & yours will be fine. Check on all older parents, incase of power failure, but I'm sure you don't need "mother hen"  aka "me",telling you this. I'm just concerned for all.
Harriet, So Happy Alan has been nominated 3 times. He deserves so much more at times & doesn't get the attention he always deserves. Alan says,"Fans worry about it more than he does", probably true. He has so much Great work!

You know today I stayed in w/my cold and Listened to Alan's Album from Cracker Barrel and that is one of my favorite
list of his Songs. I like it better than the last one, well Maybe I do ha! I love All his work, but this Album seemed to sound
so sincere & like he had been through "Love and Heartache", the name being "Songs of Love and Heartache" It is a Great
piece of work..His voice sounded perfect & the instruments too, the Band is great! If you haven't listened to it lately, give it a listen..Love it!

We hoped to travel soon, but w/this weather, we have postponed so many trips. My son called and wanted to say hi as we didn't get there for Christmas & with colds , still haven't. He or they are enjoying the Twins now and the three year old is spending time w/him on his days off.He tries to give him time, to teach him to be a good son.Love my son for that.I wanted to take them out to eat at Amerigo's in brentwood, I think, they have the best Tiramisu lol dessert.Long Island has next best.ha!

This weather is unusually weird, all over..the floodings etc..the cold. Florida has even been cold. TX sounds bad now.All of you there be careful. I hope Kay is ok, haven't heard from her in ages or able to contact her. If anyone knows anything, please PM me.Harriet did you ever find out anything.PM me if so ok.. I hope Terry is ok too, just busy I suppose..
Got to run and cook for hubby.. he has appnt's next week, I thought it was this wk.

Jean/AZ always enjoy reading your Posts also, You should write a column in your local Newspaper, I did a bit at my hometown once..Jean Your words of wisdom and your enjoyment of Life is evident. Your children must really appreciate your sense of humor too & goodness.like you Jean/az, I enjoy curling up with a  good book.

I Pray to God that Alan & Band have no travel problems on this Tour..God Bless them.
Take care Everyone, always . those across the globe & below us too, Jerrie-MS ( Great calender this month, but last Mo looked more like Alan in person)Prayers for the good people in Egypt & their plight, it affects all people, worldwide.

We are officially snowed in!  The winds were unbelieveable last night - just roaring!!  They reported on the news this morning that there were 70 mph winds on the lake front last night.  YUCK!
We have about 18 inches by us and the drifts are huge!  Looking across the street, there are some drifts to the tops of the garages.  It will take awhile to get dug out of this - I have no idea where they are going to put all this snow.
I'm supposed to go into the office tomorrow, but not sure I'll even make it then.

Hope everyone affected by this storm is safe & warm!

We got screwed - a lot of sleet kept the snow totals down - they declared a level 3 so no one is supposed to be on the streets but we are far far far from being snowed in..  enjoy!

We in Ontario, Canada, east of Toronto, did not get as much as we expected through the night.  But we are sure getting the snow now.  It is the big fluffy snowflakes.  At least Alan and his crew are here in town for their concert.  I hope everyone coming from out of town travel safely to his concert.

Southwest Michigan got snow and wind but the totals vary from 6-18 inches depending on where you are.  Lots of wind, but it is sunny now.  All the schools and several businesses closed for the day today, gives the snow plows a chance to get to all of the roads now.  should be business as usual tomorrow.  Leslie

Happy February!
Congrats Jeri on winning the cd.  I'll have to check Nashville Country Club.

We have cold temps, rain, but no snow.  Thank goodness.  January gave us here in SC enough snow.

Super bowl Sunday and I'm not the least bit excited about it.  We usually have a small party, but I'm not planning anything this year.  Did find out Country Strong is playing at the local theater, would like to see that.  The movie George Strait is advertising on sale at Wal Mart sounds just like Country Strong.

I'm watching American Idol and I really like Steven Tyler.  Didn't really pay any attention to him before.  Any of you watching Idol?  I DVR it than watch it later.  I'm also reading the Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.  Got started with the first book and recommend them.  I heard there will be a movie of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Had our Worker's Comp Ins. audit yesterday.  Didn't seem like any problems.  Only took about an hour.  It took me longer than that to get the forms together for the auditor.

Thinking of all of you......

Finally got dug out and went to the office yesterday - it took forever.  The roads are plowed, but not all the lanes are plowed so everything was backed up once I got off the main highway.   Last night on the way home (another long trip) I saw at least 3 crews working on the outside lanes to get rid of all that snow.  The piles of snow are enormous and caution is needed when reaching intersections because you can't see anything.  What a mess, it will take a long time for these huge piles of snow to melt down.
It was really cold yesterday - in the teens, but the sun has been out the last couple of days and that helps to brighten the spirit.

I'm so excited to be reading concert reviews again - it really lifts my winter weary spirit!  Keep writing those reviews - love them!!

Going to our friends house for the Super Bowl on Sunday - I'm rooting for Pittsburgh, because as a long time Bears fan I can't bring myself to root for the Packers.   I'll probably spend more time visiting than actually watching the game.

Going to buy a new cell phone today - my old one is just not working right and won't hold a charge.  We'll see what I come up with - I won't leave my carrier though, I've had wonderful service from US Cellular and will stick with them.
