Happy Thanksgiving too Y'all!  Just a little something about the day:

                TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
                BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
                I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
                I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

                THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
                THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
                BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
                WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

                TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND..
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

                MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
                MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP..
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
                MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!

                HAPPY   THANKSGIVING   TO  ALL

Thanks for the wonderful poem.  I think I will print it and share it with family.  Happy Thanksgiving to all the AJ friends out there.  May you have safe travels, healthy family, tasty food, and lots of love.  Leslie

P.S.  I will be going to Florida on Saturday and returning the following Saturday, have to get dad's place ready to rent out.  Since I will be without a computer, I won't be able to post but will keep you in my prayers.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU!!!

This is the first year I think since married that I haven't cooked. I will miss that "Cornbread dressing" that was Mom's favorite
and she probably made it just like Alan likes. I changed mine a bit, over the years, Like Denise.
I'm just grateful to be getting over this infection and Asthma, after three weeks.

Thanks for the poem Sharon. I write a bit of poetry after taking a class.Mine is so personal, I wrote it mostly about Family and Love and Nature.

I Wish you all the BesT Day and Enjoy it with family and /or friends!

I am so Thankful for all the Great Music that Alan has given us over the Years w/the Strayhorns!

God Bless, Jerrie-MS
