I am still bummed this morning that there was no concert...but more concerned with Alan's health. I know he hated to cancel last night...but he couldn't help it. I am praying for a quick recovery and a good rescheduled date so I can attend. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We too drove to the Cincinnati from Columbus, Ohio for the concert and while we were a little bummed about missing out on the concert we will definitely be back when it is rescheduled and prayers to Alan for a speedy recovery. Was a nice road trip and even enjoyed a good dinner and conversatipon on the road with my friend so the trip wasn't at all wasted. God Bless.

Here I sit in a hotel in KY. Don't know what made me check for anything concert related before we left for the venue. I never do that. Glad I did. Extremely bummed but hoping the big guy is better soon. I feel something coming on myself. I don't care when they reschedule it for....I will be here for it. I have never posted on here from my phone.....can't scroll for mistakes. LOL Hi January we just drove back home from Cincinnati today and I am very disappointed of course. We had gone to the venue yesterday and saw the concert was cancellled.I was able to go to the will call window and pick up my tickets, not sure what I want to do yet, I would like to see him again but hopefully on my weekend off, and gas and hotel expenses ad up. I think you were at the hotel I was at, and they were nice to us after I was crying the blues about my favorite singer. Our waitress in the dining room later brought us wine and cheese and crackers and we just made the best of it. I did see Alans trucks there and hubby and I walked over to the van and they said Alan was sick at the show the night before. So I guess I will just watch for the rschedule date and hope for the best.

OH, Yes, I did drive the 4 1/2 hour trip!!! But Alan is like the rest of us he can't help if he get sicks. I was trying to find the parking garage, saw Alan's buses and the semi's there. I asked one of his crew members if he knew where I was suppose to park. He told me the concert was cancelled because Alan was sick, I thought at first he was kidding. He was a very nice guy and talked to Carol and I for a few minutes. Then I saw one of the semi truck drivers who I remember from last year and talked to him for a little while, he also told us how Alan had started feeling sick the night before and just couldn't make it to Cincy. Maybe I shouldn't go back to Cincinnati, the last time I went to one of Alan's concerts there, it was pouring rain and he wasn't feeling good that night but he did make it through the concert. Only kidding, if the weather isn't bad when they re-schedule I will probably try to make the trip again.
Carol and I went back to Florence, KY where we had a hotel room, went to eat at O'Charley's, then to the mall to do some shopping. So it wasn't a wasted trip. We still had a good time even if we did miss seeing Alan in concert. Alan, as you probably don't ever read the board, but wanted to say, "Get well soon and take care of yourself." Just know we fans are pulling for you.
Betty, sorry I never retruned your second call but I got it a lot of traffic and I can't talk on the phone and concentrate while I'm driving.

So bummed about the concert being canceled, but hope Alan feels better soon. Drove 3 hrs and was so excited to see him in concert for the very first time!!! I agree . . . hotel, gas and food are expensive. I'll just have to cut back somewhere else b/c I AM GOING TO SEE HIM IN CONCERT!! The trip wasn't a total loss for me, hubby, son and daughter-in-law . . . went to Brothers, drank a few and watched Ohio State beat Iowa even though the referees were the worst! Go Bucks! Then shopped at Jeffersonville Outlet Stores on the way home. So, all in all, I'm sure we had more fun than Alan did being sick! I'm sure the last thing we wanted to do was cancel the show. Looking forward to the rescheduled show!! We'll be there!!

Dot,
Once I got to the venue at about 5:45 there was only one semi down at street level. You were able to save Betty/ hubby some driving time though ?? Whatever, it is what it is.
My luck didn't get any better though........ I got a speeding ticket coming back here to Columbus.
Hopefully I can find out something about the reschedule date before I go all the way back home. Thank God I have my dear friend here in Columbus to stay with. Broke the news to hubby this morning about the show and the speeding ticket. He didn't ask how much the ticket was........and I didn't say.. Of course that just adds expense to the trip.

Sorry to hear about the cancelled show for everyone who was planning on going. Hope you all can make the rescheduled concert - from what has been posted, it sounds like you will all make it back. Alan's shows certainly are worth the trip to see him! Alan, take care of yourself and get better soon!

hey bltn1955...sorry about your ticket. We were there at 5pm and saw 2 semi's...one on each side. Took some pictures beside it and went to the ticket booth to see about whether we should pick up our tickets or not...they said NO...fan club member tickets were not being given out and told me to check with the fan club about the rescheduled date. I hope it's December 4th...2 weeks from now. That will work into my schedule really well. I, too am hoping the weather isn't bad.

Thanks Brenda. And my dear husband didn't give me a hard time about it. Thank God for him. He has a lead foot too..LOL Anyways, that was a lot of driving for me...700 miles roundtrip. It was not a wasted trip because of my friends in Columbus.

We drove from Indianapolis and stayed at the Radisson in Covington, we were already in Cincy when they cancelled. We did not go to the arena to pick up our tickets and I wish we had. If I cannot make the next date then we will lose our tickets as I am the one that bought them and you know - id and credit card etc. I hope he recovers quickly and they make it another saturday night concert so I can go......How is that Holiday Inn, is it the Covington KY one or where? Christy Here I sit in a hotel in KY. Don't know what made me check for anything concert related before we left for the venue. I never do that. Glad I did. Christy, If you can't go the to rescheduled date they will refund your money. We stayed at the Marriot in Covington and it was really nice and there is a shuttle that will take you to the arena and bring you back to the hotel. I imagine that runs from all the hotels in Covington.

Christy,
If you got your tickets through the Fan Club, then that same e-mail from the Fan Club will still get you your tickets to the rescheduled show. That's what I was told.
And as January said, if you can't make it you will get a refund.
