Don't see any other reviews so I'll give a brief one.

WOW!

The concert was one of the best I've seen so far.  Alan was so relaxed and really related to his audience.  Thank you so much Cindy and the fan club for awesome 2nd row center seats.

When we got to the venue, as I was picking up my tickets, Jinx and her husband, were coming to get theirs.  It was good to see her on her birthday.  She got a very special birthday present but I'll let her tell that.

I had talked with Monty before the show and he told me he would see me in the auditorium as he was visiting with some Union folks.  After briefly speaking with him, we went to our seats.  Tamtoe introduced herself as we were finding our seats since she was in the line for M&G with Chris Young.

The Band Perry opened for Chris Young and Alan.  They are an energetic band, all siblings and the children of Steve Perry of Journey.  Very talented and can play all kinds of instruments, even accordion!

Then Chris Young came out.  Tammy had made some signs and we held up V-O-I-C-E-S, while he was singing that song.  He noted our signs, but no big deal about them.  Chris sounded much better to me this time than the last time I saw him.

And Then, the Strayhorns took the stage, the backdrop for Alan is a long train track.  They were playing a medley of Alan's songs while the lights were dimmed and then out walks Alan in a brown/black cowboy shirt with a red cup in his hand.  After about 1/2 hr. my friend Linda and I went to the stage and we ended up there the whole time.  Tammy had made the Good time signs and another one.  When Alan started singing "Good Time" I got the signs from our seats and passed them to Tammy.  When we held them up, I had passed them out backwards and we spelled emit doog!  Alan looked over with a startled look on his face and says, I think you have got those spelled wrong and started telling up how to place them, along with all the young people standing around us!  LOL!

He went back and forth on the stage several times, touching hands and giving out picks, throwing picks too.  There was a young woman at the stage in front of us who was physically challenged and she wanted a pick so bad.  We got Alan's attention and he came over leaned down and gave her a pick.  She was ecstatic.

When friends and family ask me why I go to the concerts and why I am a fan, this is why.  Alan is a true southern gentleman and such a gifted musician.

Monty put on his beanie for his portion of "As she's walking away".
I didn't think to bring a sharpie, and seems like no one else did.  He came over to me when I held up my ticket with my friends pen and when Alan realized it wasn't a Sharpie, he didn't sign any autographs.

Got to speak to Roger and Monty after the show too and got a playlist.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to go to N. Charleston and can't wait to see the tall blond man again!!!

Sharon, Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!!
Awesome time and Awesome seats!!  That is so terrific to see!

I just loved the 'emit doog' experience... That is a hoot and a half!!!
and I'd say it took the 'automatic' out of the equation for Alan, too.  ha ha

Soooo Happy this was an overall excellent experience and that you fans
met one another, too.    aieeeeeeeeee
Glad to see you helped the handicapped fan get her guitar pick, too.
Had a similar experience in April with Alan in that regard. He has an eagle's eye
for those things to happen. ; )

That is so cool of Alan to elect Monty to help sing As She's Walking Away...
and cute about the beanie! ha ha

Good to hear you say you liked Chris Young better... I love that kid!

And also the Band Perry's being included is wonderful. I predict they are
going to be as huge as Alison Krauss someday.

omygosh...no sharpie?!  That is toooo sad   I am so sorry!

Would love to see the songlist.... (There's a chance Alan might be
coming thisaway sometime... We're waiting to see the Peoria Civic Center's
update on that possibility (on facebook and via VIP email).

Great review Sharon. So happy you had a good time, but we all knew you would.  I missed being there with y'all.  Don't you just love the way they do "As She's Walking Away"?  Did you get any pictures?

Thanks Terry, you were missed!

I did get some pictures, but you know me!  Tammy got some great ones and she will share I'm sure.  She's still in Charleston as far as I know.

Loved Monty being able to be spotlighted with "As she's Walking Away!"

We are home from Charleston and I can share my unbelievable euphoria with everyone!
Bill and I were at will call to pick up tickets and there was am angel of a woman with her daughter
next to us.  I heard her mention a meet and greet so of course I had to ask her about it.  She had
promotional tickets from a radio station and after realizing how excited I was for her, she
said they gave her 4 tickets and there were only the two of them.  And asked if we would like the
two extra tickets.   OMG.....I was beside myself! The experience of walking into the tent, seeing
Alan who is 100% more handsome in person than any picture I have seen was something I will
NEVER forget.  He put his hand out and I said who I was and that we had come from Florida to
see him and that it was my birthday.  He said happy birthday with the most beautiful smile,
Bill and I stood next to him  (I forgot to whiff...sorry Gayle) they snapped our picture, then he looked
IN MY EYES and said "I hope you have a nice birthday" and I said I have and that I was looking
forward to the concert.  That was it....walked out in ECSTASY.   It was just perfect...yes, quick,
but he gave his full attention to us while we were there.  A fan club member from Nancy sat next to
us in the concert and she had a M&G also so we could share that the rest of the concert.

I wasn't able to write anymore above because the computer was rolling.
Sharon did a perfect review of the concert.  I have to agree....it was the best concert I have
been do.  Our 4th row center seats were perfect...Alan was so close....(thank you fanclub!)
and he was PERFECT.  He was so happy and relaxed and I really believe he was fully enjoying
himself.  Very talkative and he walked around and touched people's hands.   Band Perry was
WAY better than I expected....such energy and Chris Young was the same...great energy and
such good songs.
It was nice to see Sharon and her signs.  Funny...I saw Alan pointing to them saying something
was backwards!
I am sad Alan was so sick he had to cancel last night. Poor Gayle...but seems it will be another
time and good news for Becky to get to see him after all later on.   Anyway, I could ramble on and
on because I am still on a high.  (Can you tell....LOL!)   Now I just can't wait until the next concert.
Hopefully in Florida soon and that Dizzy and Mazie will be able to go too!

Sharon, thanks for the nice review, wished I had been there with you.  I bet A. J. was tring to figure out  what the signs were spelling, that is so funny.  Glad you had a good time and got to talk to Monty.
I know what you mean about people asking why I go to all those concerts. I never get tired of seeing A. J. in concert, will continute to go as long as I can.

Jinx, how lucky for you to get those tickets to meet Alan. What a neat birthday present, you couldn't ask for anything better.

Jinx, I am so happy for you! Sometimes the stars just align perfectly and how thoughtful of them to do that on your birthday!  I forgive you for forgetting to breathe deep - beings you were all last minute with it and didn't have time to plan..LOL - Maybe next time!  May your Alan high last for weeks on end!  :- )))

Sharon - thank you for the review. How funny about the signs and what a treat that you told on yourself - that was sweet of you to share!  I wish I had been there - it would have been fun!  Thank you for the offer of the newsletter - I would really appreciate having it - when Ainsley was in it before I sent it for Alan to autograph for her and I am framing it for one of her Christmas presents. I am hoping for special dispensation on the one item per year so I can get the twins done at the same time - otherwise it will be one in 2010 and one in 2011 - and they won't get them until next Christmas.  I will message my address to you through FB. Thanks so much for the offer!

Tammy - where are the darn pictures? I was robbed of my Alan fix - you are all I've got right now!!!!

<3  Gayle
