Here we are - almost two years since I wrote the last post - and still no Alan!!!   

Just reading this.  So sorry for all you've been through, hope you are feeling better now.  Haven't been to this forum in a while, years ago we were very active here but it seems like things have slowed down a lot.

Still love Alan, haven't seen him in a few years since he hasn't come around here, wish he would.  I did finally get to meet Roger at the last one.

It's been two years since I have seen Alan and the Strayhorns near me and it doesn't seem like they are coming this year either!!!  Alan, your fans up here miss you and deserve to see you soon!!!!  Can't you fit in an event in Atlantic City, NJ or Trenton?

Well, I am sad that he hasn't come to Atlantic City this year.   

I am so disappointed that Alan didn't come to NJ this year.

Linda, we don't have all the info yet.  Seems her house burned down the day after Thanksgiving and she was staying in a hotel.  The maid found her Tuesday.  No one seems to know what happened, there is an investigate going on.

She had gotten divorced and took back her maiden name, Stokes, and living in Monroeville, Al.  The fh handling this is Johnson in that city , I'll try to get the link.  You are so right, she was always so kind and sweet.  Can you share the picture?

Melanie Wiggins (Stokes) passed away on December 30th.  Don't know how many fans would remember her but she was an AJ fan for a long time, even won a pair of Alan's signed jeans at a fc party years ago.  A dear sweet lady from Alabama. 

Thought everyone should know and send prayers to her friends and family.

Well, I bought mine from the casino pre-sale, got 13th row center.  Not happy though.  I did get an email from Cindy saying that there were no fan club pre-sale tickets available for this show.  I guess you just need to pay $500 or more to get what we used to get for regular price.

And I thought fans meant something to Alan.  I am just so disappointed.

The pre-sale today has nothing to do with the fan club, it's from the casino.  The password is ESCAPE.  Try it and good luck!

Annie, I never got an email from the fc to say that the pre-sale was tomorrow, saw it on the fc page.  Sure hope they will have regular tickets for us!

This is so frustrating!  There is a  Caesars pre-sale this morning, I thought I had reserved 3 seats only to find they disappeared within seconds.  It was 3rd row, now there is nothing there that I would pay $150 for.

The fan club is vague as to whether or not the fc pre-sale tomorrow is really available only with the "special VIP packages".  I cannot pay $500 a ticket, this is crazy.  What happened to the old days, it was so easy -- and so much less expensive -- to get fan club tickets.  I have left a few messages for the fan club but so far no return call. 

I am not liking this!  I've been a fc member since '04, love Alan, never had a meet and greet, probably never will at this rate and at these prices!

It just won't be the same without Roger.  He will be missed.  I wish him well in whatever he does.

Last night there were many more than 10 for the m&g, just how many from the fan club I couldn't tell you, but let me say this -- there were little children there!  Isn't that against the rules?  I saw them all coming out, they had pre-signed pictures of Alan.

I just think it would have been nice -- and more fitting -- that there would be fc members in the place of these little children!  Do they call the radio stations?  Do they buy AJ's music?  Do they sing along to his songs?

If they take the time to spell out the rules, then I say they should abide by them!  No children!  And more fc members!

I'm not one of the lucky ones either!    Sure hope REAL fans get the m&gs.
