Thanks for the info.  Not much has been done to honor such a great country singer.

I watched it on opry.com streaming.   It was wonderful to see and I cried when Alan closed singing "Choices".
Alan, I was so proud of you, knowing how hard that was for you.
Nancy, my deepest sympathy to you and your family through these hard times.

I watched the first and last part live on CMT. Alan closed the ceremony with "He Stopped Loving Her Today".  It was awesome. He was choked up. It tore my heart out. He took his hat off at the end and put it over his heart...about to lose composure, turned and walked off. It was awesome.
I saw him sing that song at the Grand Ole Opry in September 2011 for George Jones 80th birthday party.  What a difference a year and half make. So sad. My deepest sympathy the Nancy and the family, all fans and friends of this legend.

Okay, I need to apologize as I heard them talking about Choices before they introduced Alan.   The whole ceremony was
so heartbreaking and I must have gotten confused on the song.   Not hard at my age.  Sorry everyone.

Kanaloa

No need to apologize. Since I was unable to see the entire show, I thought maybe Alan did sing Choices at some point. I saw a recap of the ceremony today on CMT...and cried again!

I was very proud of the way Alan honored George Jones. How he managed to keep it together through that song was impressive. Alan and George were close friends through the years and I thought it was a fitting tribute. Vince Gill and Patty Loveless are also to be commended on a difficult day for everyone in country music.
