I'm also taking it easy today - watched the Rose Parade this morning and starting to take down the Christmas decorations and packing them away for another year.
Hope everyone has a happy & healthy 2013.

Five days into 2013!  Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year.  Hubby & I both have colds!  I think we are getting better!

Got my Sweetbrier Book.  Wish I had a coffee table to display it.  It is beautiful.  Gave it to myself for Christmas.

Cold is better!

Jeri, did you go in and see Sweetbriar?  I have seen it from the road.  The first time we went by, Denise was at the gate decorating it with flowers and waved to us!  Nice memory.

Sharon I laughed at reading this. No we drove by, knowing where it was and the gate was open, workers
there doing their work. we got a great look at the house though. My hubby was so silly, he parked the car across the drive and he looked over the fence at the jogging trail LOL. It's a miracle we didn't meet the police , but we had our Military sticker on our car. this could have helped. They may have seen & heard us speaking about Alan on the security camera & system & decided we were harmless LOL. a Leaf from the Big Tree there blew down in my mouth, my hubby teased "it was a gift from God"LOL. Can you believe I still have it LOL. So nice to have the memories huh.. My M&G I will never forget. My mom was about to pass away In MS, and Alan will never know how meeting him, comforted me. He is the Best Singer/Songwriter to me! I just love his ways of being so humble, this is a natural Gift he has. Denise sounds so sweet too, I talked to her on God Tube long ago..where you submitt questions and they read them & she answered. she had the book out then. I sent a message every minute & they chose mine to answer.LOL Great stuff.
No Sharon I haven't been in Alan's House LOL. I respect his privacy much too much & his family & their safety..

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year.  Thanks for starting January's Thread, HariAJfan.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas.  I do hope this is a better year for everyone.
It was nice being off work between Christmas and New Year, but it was very busy.  We had lots of people over. My husband's mom was in the hospital with pneumonia at the start  of the holidays, but she did get to come home, but could not go anywhere. So we spent time with her at her home.
Everyone is getting sick around us, since Christmas. Either this bad flu that is going around or a cold.  My husband just got it on Friday.  He has a mix of the cold and flu. I hope I do not get it.
I got to go to work now.  Talk to you all soon.

Hello. fellow Alan Fans. It is raining cats & dogs in the Atlanta area. We are very excited because our football team, the Falcons, won a great playoff game yesterday

Anita- I hope you do not get the flu. The USA has a flu epidemic- it is very grave. And a Happy New Year to you too.

Jeri- Glad you got to see Sweetbriar

Sharon- Glad your cold is better. This rain may be coming your way.

Hello, Kathy.

Elaine- hope you're managing OK in snowy Canada.

The winter cold has finally arrived here - the wind chill this morning was -1.  Thank goodness I didn't have to go out in it.  We got a minimal amount of snow over the weekend and now it's just cold.

Some great playoff games this weekend.  My team is out of it, but enjoyed watching the games.

Anita - hope your husband gets better soon, hoping you don't get it as well.

Jeri - glad you got to see Sweetbriar, I have never had the opportunity, but I really enjoy looking at the photos in Alan's book.  What a special place.

Take care everyone and stay healthy!

Hello, you all.
Been a long time since I have come here to read the extra topic area.

I was sick for 2 wks starting 12/18 with a cold..then a 3 day viral type of
headache and getting thru it all was a challenge but at least I am retired
and could take care better.

My Sweetbriar book arrived today...signed. It is wonderful and I'm glad I
splurged on it with that cause getting the full benefit.   I love photography
and could put myself in Alan's shoes as he went around the estate trying to
decide on angles. Wink  I visited the street edge of the property several times
with other fans and the last time was 2003 with my hubs who was So
embarrassed.
One time there were 5 of us and we all sent a Chevy kiss (like Dinah Shore used to
do) up towards the sec. camera
and it was Father's Day during Fan Fair week.

We had a great time at Alan's Springfield, IL concert in Nov.

I don't get into the emailing like I used to do (as much)...and
am recently catching up with some people that way but not
steadily.

I wish each of you a very happy New Year!!!
