hi, this morning was a beautiful bright sunny day, just like it was 11 years ago today. remembering that day still hits hard being a resident of new york state. the local news station has been showing the portraits of all the local lives lost in my area. its tough to watch. it still gives me mixed feelings of anger and sorrow...rickm.

Rickm, it's still hard for me to comprehend what happened that day 11 years ago. I was literally crying watching all the streaming tv news broadcast on that horrible event the whole day long, totally in disbelief, feeling of shock not going away and anger felt deep. No one will ever forget the ugliness and sadness of that day, the pain and sorrow people suffered during the attack and the fear and the uncertainty felt in the aftermath. When Alan perfomed the song he penned about this event, 'Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning)',at the CMA Awards for the first time, I felt numbed with grief and sadnesss as pictures of the attack poured in my head. I still feel the same way when Alan performs it at his concerts. Here are some memories shared by three AOL Music team members as posted at theboot.com:

Here are some of country artists' reflections of their memories of that day, from Taste of Country (3 pages)
