hi, when vcr tapes were state of the art, i used to record alan's performances on the country award shows and any other chance i had to record him. i have a bunch of them. one vcr tape i have has a short clip of alan on a talent show. i think  it might have been "you could be a star". he looks so young, and alittle nervous. he didnt win the contest.  IF THEY ONLY KNEW WHAT KIND OF TALENTED SUPERSTAR THEY PASSED UP ON !! rickm.

 I saw the show you are talking about that
Alan was in ....I won't ever for get when
he came to Jacksonville.Fla I think he drew
the biggest crowd for the arena and it was
a fair show that is put on by the radio station..
It was a really good show............It  was
like when Elvis came to Jax he was a big
excitement to   fans gave him a fit.

I have seen that show with Alan. He did seem nervous but was still great. He definitely looked way different than he does now.  I loved him then & still do.
