Hi all.

Guess by now most of you heard that Alan and the Strayhorns are coming back to Canada.  They will be performing in Toronto at the Rexall Centre on July 21.  It may be expensive as some of the other performers are charging between 200-250 bucks but we don't know yet as he is not listed yet.  It is strange for him to come back here as he was just here in Febraury.  I know some of you have not seen him for a while.......sorry about that!!!!!

Who cares about the price, I love the guy he is so down to earth and I can relate to his music.  Not sure about the venue though totaly different then other places he has been in Ontario.  I am so excited I can't wait.  Haven't seen though anything about when the tickets go on sale through ticketmaster, I did see on AJ site and preferred seats, I am hoping to meet him face to face that has been my dream now for about 10 years.  All my friends know Alan as my second husband!!!!  Are you going to the concert Gwen?

I am not sure yet Allison as I saw him in February............me, hubby and sister......it will depend on the price.  Also will depend on who else is performing and how much time he will be on for.  Don't know anything at this point!

Hi everyone!  I have been busy here so haven't been to the bd. for a while! But I did see where Alan was coming back to Toronto to the Rexall Place. Sorry but will not be able to go see AJ this time. Just saw him in Feb. & as usual was absolutely terrific! Enjoy yourself...to everyone who will be seeing AJ. Wish I could go but things just won't work out this time.  HI GWEN...HOW ARE YOU DOING!

Gwen:  Alan is coming to Toronto on my birthday and I was born in Tornonto.
I'm still waiting for him to come to The Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan or Casino Windsor
because I must have elevators.  I am praying and have confidence.  There's more time
left in the year yet.

In any case, have a wonderful time.  I am jealous!!  Send us a list of songs.

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that NO I will not be going to see Alan this time.  This is a first for me.  But if he is having Big & Rich and Gretchin Wilson opening, I don't think he will perform for very long.  Also to get the preferred seating, I figured the other two openers would also have their preferred seating also and did not want to end up in the 25th row for maybe 30 minutes of Alan.  I also just saw him in February.  Don't mean to sound selfish but I would have to pay for my sister to go and hubby would have to drive and right now don't want to spend 400.00.  I reallly wish he would do more tours in the States for you guys.  It is odd for him to keep coming back to Canada.  I will probably regret this but that I will have to deal with.  Have a GOOD TIME all you Canucks.

Hope everyone is staying safe with all of those terrible tornadoes.  When will it ever end?Huh

Just a quick note here as my sons and I are going out for a bit.

Gwen, this is just to try and ease some of the concerns you have about this concert. First off, Alan having more than one opening act wil not cut down his time limit on the stage. It doesn't matter how many opening acts he may have, he wil still put in the  hour or so time he's alotted to have on stage. It's the opening acts time that will be cut down a bit, if there's more than one. This is why country artists like Kenny Chesney sometimes do 3 hours of concert show, to accomodate all their openingacts and still allows them to have their hour, hour and half on stage. One exception to this "rule" was when Alan and B&D co-headlined. It was their mutual decision and agreement for one of them to do hour or so and the other 45 minutes alternately.

As for Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson as opening acts, they may or may not do their show separately. If you didn't know, they were members of the MuzikMafia before Gretchen got her record label deal ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MuzikMafia ), so they might do the MuzikMafia "group" performance and just do one show together. And, by the way, rows 2 to 25 are reserved just for the AJFC members. If B&R and GW have preferred seatings for their fans, I'm sure it will be at a different section from where the AJFC preferred seating wil be or is at. I do understand about the costly tickets price and don't understand either why Alan is doing another show there when he just did one last Feb. We sure could use seeing him here in GA too.

Ok, my short note just got long. . .LOL! Just thought I'd let you know all these. Take care.

Thanks so much BHR  for the info.  I know I am spoiled as when I go see him I am usually in the 2nd or 3rd row and when you get that you do NOT want to be way back so that is my own stupid fault.  I don't mean to sound ungrateful because I am not.  I would never apply for a 2nd meet and greet as I have had my turn and now I think it is time for someone who hasn't.  I know this has nothing to do with this but I just felt like saying it.  Hope he soon plans more shows for you guys in the South.  Thanks again BHR!
